We have been here a few times and their drinks never disappoint! My favorite is the Black Sesame espresso. The Banana Cream drip is also really yummy. My kids have also had their matcha and say it is so tasty. Price point is good at $6.75 for a regular size and so much better than THAT chain. It's near CSULB and staffed with young adults who get the drinks out quickly. The décor is so cute. Parking is sometimes difficult, but worth it.
The coffee here is great, and strong. The place was clean and had lots of options for seating. We ordered the egg coffee and a black sesame espresso. I also ordered a guava cheese danish. Everything was delicious, the coffee was sweet and the black sesame wasn't overpowering. The egg coffee is always my favorite to try anywhere so I was happy to see it on the menu. The service was helpful, gave a lot of good insights on the menu.
Trung Nguyen is muy bien when it comes to the coffee of Phin. If you haven't tried this shop before then it's a sin. It's definitely legit and if you want to get lit this place is a hit. I ordered their Cappuccino to start with and it delivered with flavor and potency. Next was their Cream Corn which was also a potent and flavorful drink. The last drink we had was their Egg Coffee and this put us through the roof. Man, we were flying high after finishing all the drinks. The shop is cute and service is decent. Plenty of seats if you can grab them because this place is pretty popular. The line moves quickly and that's my take, Peace out.
The best coffee near the VA Hospital and CSULB. Strong and sweet the best of both worlds. There was a long line but it went by fast and the cashier was friendly. The coffee came out fast despite the long line. I got the coconut coffee and my hubby got the peanut butter coffee. Both delicious. Can't wait to go back and enjoy another drink. The store was vibrant with lots of folks in there studying. Parking was ok too. Not hard to find a spot.
I wish I would have utilized this cafe more when I was going to school nearby! The drinks were amazing 10/10. We got the raspberry matcha and egg coffee and it was perfection. We also ordered the banhmi and were very startled when we saw the size of it.. bc it was tiny.. but once we took a bite, we were blown away! So delicious! Wish it was bigger tho:(
Trung Nguyen E-Coffee was totally excellent! Came here on a Friday afternoon and there was a decent amount of seating. I ordered from the extensive menu and the service was quick. The black sesame espresso was a perfect balance of sweet but still strong. The raspberry matcha was also sweet with subtle matcha taste. Both drinks were amazing and it seems like a perfect study spot right by CSULB. Would recommend!
My boyfriend and I came to try this place out after seeing some videos of it online! The inside was clean and had a contemporary modern vibe! The staff were kind and they have a somewhat extensive menu of various drinks for coffee and matcha. Also just FYI asking for less ice means less drink! The drinks were pretty delicious and a bit on the stronger side for the matcha and coffee, but I still enjoyed it since I love Vietnamese coffee! If you like things a but sweeter just keep that in mind! It's very close to Cal State Long Beach and theres a variety of places to eat from and a small Target in the plaza!
This coffee cafe is located in a Target shopping plaza. Their menu has quite a few unique espresso drinks. A lot of matcha latte options if you like those. I ordered a Vanilla Marble Espresso. There is a fair amount of seating inside, which, as others point out, is often completely taken by students. Such was the case when I visited. So I took my drink outside to one of several outdoor tables (wasn't sure if they were meant for customers of this place or Afters next door). This iced drink was quite good. The espresso was intense and bold with the vanilla cream providing an equally bold sweet and creamy flavor. The contrasting tastes melded well together. As the saying goes, I sound like a broken record when reviewing most iced coffee drinks, including this one - "too much ice".
I was craving a banana Matcha, so I did a quick search (of course in yelp) for the "best Matcha near me in Long Beach", and Trung Nguyen E-coffee was my choice! Cute, very clean cafe in the Target shopping plaza across from the Veterans Building. Now, be prepared because some of their Matcha lattes, only come cold because of the way that they create the cold foam. I asked for a hot Matcha banana latte, and the staff was more than happy to accommodate me by making a couple adjustments. We went with oat milk and added banana syrup. Yum Yum. The Matcha was perfect. Had a nice earthy balance and not gritty at all 10 out of 10! I'll will be back. thank you.
Today was BOGO at this location! Got the salted caramel... whewwww! It's strong. Once you shake it up, taste delicious! Salty and bitter sweet. Location is close to pch. Off 7th, close to CSULB. Service is friendly and quick. The shop itself is super cute and bright. I'd come here any day for another bogo event. $7.75 for large.
Such a staple - I have never had a bad drink here! Super fun and varied menu, I take all my friends who visit Cali here. The baristas are also SO nice and even remade my brother's drink when he ordered the wrong thing... They truly go above and beyond! It's also a great place to study / work / hangout. (They have WiFi and tons of seating!!)
So very pretty venue and beautifully designed with this openness and color that is bright with a focus on white, black and green. It's definitely a great place to chill by yourself and walk your way through the highly caffeinated drinks. I got the black sesame espresso and it's so strong. I wish they put less ice because for slurps and the thing was done! Price wise it is pretty pricey for a cup, but it feels like most coffees are over six dollars now. But if you need a Java kick, I don't think price really matters! Is within a plaza with plenty of parking. read more

Visiting long beach from out of town and this spot was highly placed on yelp. Went in and grabbed the banana match and it was delicious! It's not terribly sweet, the banana and matcha flavor work great together. The too layer of foam was delicious and made the whole drink so creamy. Wish I was local so I could keep going back! Quick, friendly service and looked like a pretty popular spot! read more
My sister recommended that I give this place a try so we went here to get the coconut pink berry foam drink and I was definitely impressed. It was very refreshing, it had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. The pink foam was good, gave it a nice flavor. The staff members were really nice and friendly. The drinks came out efficiently. Ambiance of the location is very nice. I like white and the location was beautifully decorated. A very clean and modern look. Definitely will be coming back here to try other drinks. read more

I ordered the peaches and cream coconut water and my husband got the banana matcha. Both drinks were made so well but I was impressed with my beverage. I tend to sip my drink but I almost finished it before we got out of the parking lot. Service was friendly and our drinks were made in a short amount of time. Ambiance was bright with tables and chairs but they were all filled up inside: There were a couple tables and chairs outside. There's plenty of parking located in the plaza. This place is a non-negotiable every time I am in town! My favorite is the caramel tiramisu matcha latte. Nothing beats their cold foam! Today I got the matcha coconut water which was super refreshing and delicious for a non-caffeinated drink. read more
Bright study space with table seating and diverse caffeinated drink selection! The barista was kind in taking the drink order near closing. I've studied inside before and it can get lively at times because the shop is near cal state Long Beach. We ordered the blueberry matcha and banana cream matcha, and both tasted strong and smooth. I came here during the Yelp event from Evan and the Yelp LB Crew. I came back and tried that Peanut Butter Latte and Peach Cheese Danish. I also did some work from here, it was quite pleasant. The parking was a breeze. The service was quick even though there were so many customers, some getting coffee and goods to go and others staying to study and work. It is nice to get Vietnamese coffee near the ocean. It's such a cute cafe to meet friends and study only a block from cal state Long Beach. The lighting inside is cool and refreshing, that's what I felt the moment that I went in. And the matcha is good quality, so is the ube. I enjoyed chilling there with my drink and take some esthetic photographs of the interior. The drink was tasty. The only thing is double check your order before pay, it gets so busy that they can get your order wrong sometimes. I just accepted the drink I got because it's one of my to-try drinks anyways. Other than that, the staffs are friendly and the wait time is pretty quick! So will be back for other drinks! read more
Trung Nguyen E-Coffee brings authentic Vietnamese Egg Coffee to Long Beach. It's located across the street from CSULB and it's a great spot to get very potent Vietnamese Coffee. If you're a CSULB student cramming for finals, then they got you. Egg coffee is their signature drink. It isn't cheap as it costs $7.25, but it will definitely get you wide awake. Egg coffee is known for its infusion of egg yolk and condensed milk, which gives a nice custardy sweetness to the very strong drink. This is the only spot in LB that I know of for Vietnamese "Egg Coffee" (though they may have it at some Vietnamese Restaurants), so I definitely appreciate the ability to try this outside of Westminster/Garden Grove. If you enjoy coffee, then you should consider trying it this way! read more
4.4 stars Before heading home from Rosie's Dog Beach, I decided to stop somewhere for a much-needed cup of coffee. After glancing at a couple of menus online, I decided on Trung's since they had Corn Cream Vietnamese Coffee ($6.75). This was the only drink I got and I thought it was decent. Like other Viet coffees, this one is strong and, what I liked better, it wasn't too sweet. It was like 30% sweet with a lot of creaminess-to-bitterness ratio. The only downside to this drink was the corn kernel (not the pulp). Every sip was strangely slippery because of the kernel and the corn flavor was extremely subtle. I suggest exhaling while swallowing the beverage to get that whisp of corn air hahaha. Coffee-wise, there is an ever-so-slight sour aftertaste, but it goes away after 20 minutes or so...the aftertaste definitely doesn't linger which is a good thing! Because of this, it warrants a return to try some other concoction! Until next time! read more
Trung Nguyen is another coffee spot I had in mind for studying. I went on a weekday at around 10 AM and it was busy at the time. There is shared parking in a plaza. I didn't have any issues with finding a spot. parking. After browsing the menu for a bit, I decided to get the black sesame espresso at regular size. I saw it was one of their signature drinks, so thought that was a safe option for the first time. They gave a buzzer to notify when the order was ready, which was great. If you're a fan of sesame, then I'd definitely recommend the drink. The flavors were vibrant and strong. For seating, I sat at a spot with outlet at the bottom of the seat. The WiFi password is on available directly on your order receipt. The WiFi was strong throughout my time there. The music playing is also not too loud. There are a decent amount of seats for small groups and good for studying. It really depends on the time you go, because it was moderately busy on the weekdays. Overall, great drinks with a perfect study environment. Will definitely come back to try other drinks. Note: They accept American Express. read more

My friend and I were excited to try Trung Nguyen's new location in Long Beach! I've been hearing about the coffee shop for ages so this closer-to-home-for-me location was perfect to dip my toe in. We stopped in over the weekend to try some of the gorgeous creations we had been seeing all over ig! The coffee shop is in a strip mall with a big parking lot which is nice. It's not a big shop and very hyped rn, so expect to wait in line & that you may not get a seat. That being said, they do have indoor and outdoor seating so you can enjoy that beautiful Long Beach sun. We tried the: Corn Coffee ($6.75) Matcha Latte ($6.25) with an extra Ube Cream ($1.25) Sesame Espresso ($6.75) Though I enjoyed all of the drinks, the Sesame Espresso was my favorite. All were so pretty with bright colors or beautiful layers though. Visually and taste textually appealing. Love the vibe of this coffee shop and I'll definitely be back! read more
Trung Nguyen Coffee is a new specialty coffee shop on the corner of PCH by Cal State LB. Parking is a breeze. Greeted as soon as I walked thru the door. Been wanting to try this place out and so glad I did!!! My drink was soooo bomb I should've gotten a large lol. Ordered: Regular Pistachio Expresso with Almond milk It's so creamy, decadent and refreshing!!! Love they have a points system and prices are reasonable! I'll definitely be putting this spot in my rotation of 'go-to' coffee shops! I highly recommend!!! read more

How exciting to try out a new coffee spot! I was introduced to this spot by a friend of mine. For starters when you walk in it is an immensely aesthetically pleasing coffee shop. Very modern and chic. There is plenty of people working on their laptops there, I mean it is right by CSULB, in case you want to enjoy it there be weary on limited seating. I waited in line behind 2 other people. I noticed that the cashier was very friendly and nice to the 2 people in front of me, but when it came to myself being served, I did not receive the same type of friendliness. I was very put off by how short she was with me and didn't even smile at me like she did the other customers. She only asked, "What can I get you?" with a flat face and told me my total and walked away. Unsure what that was all about. Aside from the unfriendly customer service, I ordered and tried out their Iced pistachio latte. For the price that it is, I was very impressed. I usually see these kinds of specialty drinks for $8+ at other coffee shops, but it was only 6.75 for this iced latte. It definitely needed mixing, but otherwise, I really enjoyed it. The foam had that perfect pistachio nuttiness to it. The espresso was a nice smooth flavor; sometimes cafes have a burnt tasting espresso, but not this one! Overall, I loved this pistachio latte. I would come back for this or a different drink to try! I really like the drink but customer service is HUGE, if I feel that I am not being treated with same respect or friendliness as other customers then it is not worth coming back due to such a sour experience. I'll think about whether or not I do decide to return to this establishment. There's ample parking in the plaza. Easy to locate. read more

I love that this location opened up here. It's perfect for college students! The service is a big slow but understandable since I only saw two people working there. Their egg coffee was really good. The coffee mixed with the egg foam was perfect. It's a lot stronger compare to other places like da vien but I surprisingly think the coffee here at Trung Nguyen tastes a lot better and more fragrant. Their mini hue banh mi is good as well! Tried Trung Nguyen today, as I am a huge fan of banana coffee and wanted to see how theirs was. No line when I went around 7:30am on Friday, so service was pretty speedy. The customer service was nice, I told them it was my first time and they took good effort to explain the drinks and his favourites. I got the Banana Coffee, and while the in-store made cream on top was super light, fresh, and yummy, the coffee overall was a little strong/bitter for my liking. It definitely woke me up in just a few sips, and the only thing I think I would have wanted to add is perhaps a little caramel syrup to increase the sweet. Overall, pretty good drink, and for those who love that intense taste of coffee and banana addition, you'll love it. read more

Wow I'm actually impressed by the banana matcha. It wasn't lacking on flavor which I'm okay with as a fan of banana flavor. I had a ham and cheese croissant which was extra flakey and delicious. Tried the vanilla marble espresso which was sweet yet tasty even though I usually don't like vanilla. Service was quick with plenty of dining spots for snacking and drinking. Located in a parking plaza so plenty of parking and other local businesses to try in the plaza. Worth a detour and a welcoming vibe to the interior of the place. Worth a try read more

I am glad Trung Nguyen finally opened up because it is not too far from where I work. I came in for the first time for a matcha. Although it wasn't ceremonial or organic matcha it was still enjoyable. And I appreciated they did not charge extra for alternative milks. You can adjust your sweetness level. Besides matchas and lattes, they also had special teas such as a soursop tea. Other drink items they make that are different than other coffee shops include ube drinks, pistachio espresso, and corn cream coffee. And they have mini sandwiches if you are looking for food there. The inside is chic and cute. There are a few tables and chairs for you to hang out and enjoy your drink. The staff was pretty nice and the drinks came out fairly quick. Hibiscus Peach Iced Tea was a very refreshing drink! It wasn't directly on the menu, but I asked the cashier and they said they had it! You can really taste the blend of peach and hibiscus. The Strawberry Yakult Matcha wasn't what we had hoped for. We substituted with oat milk and we believe that's what made it taste a little funny. Next time, definitely going to try it as is. I can see this being a great study space with there being lots of seating and multiple outlets! (Great for it being next to campus) The white couch is also super comfy to sit on! read more

There was a line but it went fairly quick when we came in. We got the Matcha with two shots of espresso, Egg Cream, Coconut and banana cream. We thought the first three drinks were really good but the banana was our least favorite and not that good. The TikToks I saw raving about this cafe brought me here! I got the Strawberry Yakult Matcha, and my sister got the Iced Matcha Latte. The Strawberry Yakult Matcha had their strawberry mixture at the bottom with strawberry chunks. The strawberry mixture brought sweetness to the matcha, and it tasted the mixture did taste like strawberry yakult. The Iced Matcha Latte was okay. It's not on the sweeter side of matcha, but it doesn't taste bitter either. I just prefer my matcha lattes sweet. However, if you like a less sweeter matcha latte, I think you would enjoy this! The employees are very friendly and kind! We were greeted when we walked into the door, and service was pretty quick. The cafe is beautiful! It's very white, clean, and nicely decorated. It's bright, very well lit, and it has plenty of seating and tables. Students were studying, and employees from the VA hospital were catching up, sitting down, or grabbing a quick drink to-go. It's definitely a study spot or a spot to chat and drink. There's chairs and comfortable cushioned booth seating. They also sell pastries and banh-mi if you get hungry. There's an all-gender restroom as well. I would come back here again! I haven't seen Banana Matcha at many other coffee places, and I would like to try it next time! read more

Trying Nguyen E-Coffee is my new obsession! I've gone twice in one week. So far I've had the Banana Matcha latte and the Coconut Cream coffee. Both are great, but Coconut Cream is my favorite! Very nostalgic of coffees I've had while traveling in Asia, so I'm happy to have a local spot that makes it so perfectly! The inside of the cafe is very nice and clean, it seems a lot of students study there as much chairs/tables have been occupied during my visits. Overall, the service has been very friendly and quick. Even on busy days, I feel like I only had to wait a few minutes for my drink. Will definitely be back again soon! read more

Extremely clean space and strong coffee. I got the Banana Vietnamese Coffee and my wife got the Black Sesame Espresso. The banana coffee was very banana-y and not synthetic. It tastes like real bananas and not a fake syrup. My wife has the black sesame espresso and it tastes awesome. Like toasted sesame seeds and savory umami flavors in the best kind of way. The space couldn't be more chill. Really intentional in their design choices, very clean, and tons of open space. Calming like an organic spa or place of rejuvenation.
