El Mirador: The view is probably the best you'll get of all of San Miguel de Allende if you're…read morewanting a good picture of that. But this town is not as lovely as Guanajuato is from above though. To get there, walk down the street "El Chorro" to the end where there is a church. You'll see some steps going up- go up and just keep going up them. You'll probably have to stop for a rest along the way because even though it is a short distance, there are probably around 200 steps. Once you get to the top, turn left and the lookout is just there. The trip to get there will take you about 15-20 minutes from the central Jardin Allende. You could also take the street "Piedras Chinas" but it is narrow and used by traffic as well so not as safe. If you're looking for souvenirs, there is a crafts market across the street from the Mirador.
