The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a free cup of coffee or tea to shoppers. The restroom is accessible and clean. Booths contain everything from vintage clothing and furniture, new and used items and antiques, glassware, sports and modern collectibles, jewelry and everything in between. Prices are very reasonable. This store is very close to Indiana Dunes and Dune Acres. It's a fun way to pass some time and wait for that special item "to call your name'.

We could forgive the time on Google saying 11:00 AM when the sign on the door said they open at noon on Sundays. We went and killed some time, had some lunch. We finished eating and came back at 12:30... the store was still closed. Of course, when we went back to the car and were driving off and happened to pass the store only a minute later, THEN we see an employee coming out of the now unlocked door to set something up out front. We can only assume they had to have seen us trying the door moments before and just didn't care. It's not a difficult thing to open your doors when you say you're going to be open. It is actually one of the critical elements when running a business. We even gave them an extra 30 minutes so we weren't busting the doors down. It's not like opening at noon on a Sunday is the crack of dawn. It can't possibly be that difficult.

And this was confirmed when I visited the restroom, which also serves as the fitting room. (P.S. They don't have a fitting room here, but if you ask nicely, a grumpy person will let you try on stuff in the restroom, while standing outside of said restroom.) Someone needs to come by and sift through the things for sale here, and get rid of 60% of them. Have you ever seen footage of someone clearing a table or counter by sweeping their arm across a pile of stuff? Someone needs to come and do that to Valpo Vintage, metaphorically. (Or literally, really.) More is not more, sometimes. I did find a cool Shirley Temple glass mug, though. And a blouse that I thought was cool, but after trying it on in the restroom, I confirmed that it was too big and blousy for me.
