The rooms are nice and the staff was very helpful. They even let us know there was a wine festival going on that night in the square. There is a restaurant and bar on the first floor. We visited both and I highly recommend both of them. There is also on site self parking for €9.50 per day. If you find yourself in Hildesheim, definitely stay at Van der Valk. Thank you.

Rooms are clean and well-appointed, shower is separate and modern, service is friendly and personal (mentioned on my reservation that I'd like a table fan and it was there right after I checked in). Free wi-fi, free minibar (no alcohol). Highly recommended.
