Really we should have been forwarned, a while back we wandered into Cleopatras for a breakfast on a Saturday morning, they were open but were not cooking (?) bizarre I know. So we thought we would give then another try on a Saturday evening, an extensive menu offering pizza, burgers, kebabs etc. I ordered kebab meal and a fish and chip. How hard can that be? Well take note. There was a poor unfortunate at the till taking my order, cowering under a blond bombshell who had more than a passing resemblance to Vera Bennett, aka 'Vinegar tits' out of Prisoner cell block H, acid tongue and all. DO YOU WANT A KEBAB OR CHIPS AS WELL AS A KEBAB? She barked, I had asked for a kebab meal which according to the board included chips....I foolishly pointed this out to her and she glared at me vinegar tits style, YOU CAN ORDER EITHER A KEBAB ON ITS OWN OR YOU NEED TO PAY FOR A SEPARATE CHIP. Lets just say I was too scared to argue, fearing a rugby tackle if I tried to leave. I calmed my nerves and waited with the other customers. A man beside me got his order and roared 'THATS THE LAST FU****G TIME I WILL BE BACK HERE'. I know how he felt but he was braver than me, and it was already too late, I was still under the watchful eye of Vinegar tits after questioning her at the till, basically I was on remand already. Eventually got my order as her beady eye followed my exit, I sprinted to the car once I was out of the place and sped home to be totally disappointed in the food after such an ordeal. Limp chips, dry fish and the kebab was a bit rough. Spare yourselves the inquisition and go to the Chinese next door. I wont be back

While they take a while to prepare it this may be because they are actually cooking it rather than microwaving as others do. Especially like their doner kebab with salad and taco sauce. MMMMMMMMMM getting hungry thinking about it. I think Tilly is just a picky person as they seem to review everything under the sun. Get a life and don`t be so paranoid. I personally love their peppered pan fried chicken. Their chicken breast burgers are also a great shout. The food is served in no time at all even on a busy Saturday afternoon. My favourite dish being the spinach and potato Sag Aloo with either onion or garlic fried rice. In fact any item on their menu, either traditional or 'chefs specialist' dish can be made as a vegetarian version. Plus their garlic and coriander naan bread is fit for a King. Indian Cottage have some great offers when you spend over a certain amount, normally over £18 or £20 - check out their menu. This is magic if you're ordering takeaway for a group of friends or family. I ordered food for 5 people last night and we acquired a free bottle of (very tasty) white wine and complimentary Papadoms with dips, salad and chutney. Would strongly recommend this takeaway as the food is so fresh and delicious. I've eaten out of here numerous times over the years and have never been disappointed. A party of four of us shared mixed vegetables in satay sauce, black bean sauce, chips and rice. All the food was beautiful, with the satay sauce especially flavoursome and spicy. I would return if friends or family wished to dine in East but it wouldn't personally be my first choice. Nonetheless, the crispy spring rolls are tasty and there are a good range of vegetarian dishes on the menu. Service, restaurant and food are all fine, however if I fancy Chinese food whilst in Armagh I think there are better Chinese takeaways about. East has been open for quite a few years now, so must have its supporters and be filling a niche in the local market. Not offensive but not great either, really just average overall and somewhat lacks the wow factor for me personally.
