Love this burger joint! It's small and they basically just have burgers and fries but they know how to do burgers. There's something so flavorful about the meat itself, must be in the seasoning. If you're looking for a great burger or a late night meal this is the spot. I tend to come here after partying bc it's one of the only places open that late w good food. Service is relatively fast at least in this location (I tried a different one and it wasn't as good). You can sit at the little high top bar and look at people walking by which can be pretty entertaining too. I get the cheese and bacon burger. I find that it's pretty hard to find good bacon in South America, this one is very crunchy. read more

After walking from Copacabana beach to Ipanema beach, we were making the trek back to Copacabana. We had passed TT Burger on the way there and decided we would stop by for a later dinner. My guidebook proclaimed TT Burger as the best burger joint in Rio and we were craving some juicy burgers. TT Burger has some seats inside and a small patio. It seems like more of a grab-and-go spot as they have self-service kiosks but we decided to dine in on the patio. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries, a soft drink, and their guava ketchup which is made in house. The guava ketchup was as delicious as it sounds and made for a good dipping sauce for the thin-cut fries. The burger itself, which had to be the star of the show, didn't blow my socks off but it was solid. Reminds me of a smaller burger you would get at a spot like Shake Shack in the US. This place was ranked number 3 for their fries in the neighborhood so we had to stop in. I unfortunately didnt get a pic of the fries, we devoured them with the guava ketchup. I ordered the TT Frangueiro and it was huge!! The chicken breast was super juicy and so flavorful. Idk what the USA is doing wrong but our chicken burgers are NOT this good. Superb burgers overall. The meat patty is thick, tender, juicy and prepared to the customer request. In my case- medium. Would of been even better if meat was char broiled, but you can't have it all.. Served in a spongy bun with some basic toppings, that don't overpower the taste of meat. The burger is ok, but it is gigantic. It is even hard to bite. If this is your kind of burger, you'll appreciate this place very much - for me it's a bit too much. They have a good veggie burger too. It's only one option but it changes every few weeks but I have already tried pumpkin burger, bean burger and banana burger here and they were all great. There is the possibility of mushroom but I did not like this option - it all came of on the first bite. I mean...NYC, anyone? Aesthetically speaking, everything from the appeal to social media to the hipster greeter to the decor was reminiscent of New York-style restaurants. It was cool that they wanted to bring in some of what was obviously observed up North, but the product I must say was a little lacking. I think the main issue was the meat. No matter how you shake it, it's just different! And way too much cheese and salt. Loved that they used traditional Brazilian fare (Goiabada) to make their version of BBQ sauce. Because Goiabada is super sweet, the end result was something of a honey BBQ you might find in the states and really tasted quite nice. I was very hopeful about this place and unfortunately was let down. Let me start by saying that it isn't bad. Everything is cooked to order, including I think the fries, which is definitely a plus (also, the fries were great). But the burger just didn't have much flavor - actually it had one dominating kind of sweet flavor. After a few bites I put some salt on it, that didn't help. I tried their ketchup, still nothing. I was wondering that sweet taste was when I saw the pickles. They use sweet pickles instead of dill, which I've never seen before and hopefully never will again. It overpowered everything else, including the bacon that I added. Also it probably didn't help that the meat seemed to be completely unseasoned. Very good burger place just between Ipanema and Copacabana. The place is a little bit small, but people eat and leave really fast, so you dont have to wait much. They offer shakes, two types of burgers (single and double patty) and fries. They have a ketchup with some ingredient that makes the sauce taste a bit like bbq sauce. Have not been there in a while... have their changed their menu? I like the simplicity of the menu of only 2 types of burgers - beef and more beef - of which I do not eat. So when I go there, it's with people who I know would enjoy the burgers. I go there for the fries and chips (which I would order both at one go to make up for my non-burger) and eat them with loads of TT's "homemade" ketchup - which has a hint of guava. The "TT burger" was approximately a half pound of perfectly grilled (medium) beef, surrounded by loads of white cheese (almost too much in my opinion), then topped with tomatoes and lettuce. They have bottles of ketchup to add as you like (it tastes like BBQ sauce). I also ordered the Nutella milkshake. Yes, it was as yummy as it sounds. Menu is simple and straightforward. You have 3-4 burger options. Guava ketchup is A+ and the fries is a lot! Our server even asked us if we were doing okay. My friend thought said it tasted very salty. But our taste buds are different...so if you detest salt, approach with caution. I thought it was just fine. The patty though looks like a medium rare. I found our patties to be medium cooked on the outside but closer to the center is a bright pink. The menu is pretty simple: two options of burger (regular and vegetarian), fries and drinks. The regular burger with sweet potato buns and a secret sauce is really good. They make a pretty solid burger here- its tender and flavorful and good sized. Their special sauce is really good but the pickles are really full of vinegar which i dont like, nor does my wife. Fries are good but the chips are not- again super vinegar-y and really salty which i usually like but this was way over the top, at least the night i went there. So yeah, I sent my mom a photo of the Ketchup with Guava!!! I loved it. It's sweet and was perfect to dip the fries in. I like to taste my burger. The burger was cooked perfectly medium and it was huge and juicy. The Mr. added bacon. (note: it's crumbled bacon, not strips) He said he would leave it off the next time. The fries were so good. I finished them and had to take the last quarter of my burger with me to finish when I had room. I didn't try the shake, but I did have a tangerine juice which oddly washed everything down nicely. I visited TT Burger during the Olympics, and as you can imagine it was packed. My friend and I ordered our burgers medium and they were raw. They were quick to recook however the replacement burger, while it was cooked properly, it was smaller, and my burger was missing the carmelized onions I ordered.
