Kids wanted Korean fried chicken so we went to try this pace out. We ordered from the table tab, service was quick. We got pickle dishes and water. Typical Korean restaurant, good size . The original fried chicken is good, but bb.q is better. Rice cake in soup base is decent, the black noodles was so far the best. Overall, kids approved, and the price here is very reasonable

Came here a few weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised. It seems like a place where people come to catch up with friends and have a few drinks. One order of chicken and sweet potato fries was enough for two people. We were seated rather quickly, and the server was really attentive. After ordering on the kiosk, we didn't wait too long to receive our food. Will be coming back to try their other chicken flavors!

I have been meaning to come here for a long time, but the wait time on prior attempts has always been 30-40 minutes and the groups I was with didn't want to wait. I finally got to try today as there was zero wait and we got seated immediately. Between 2 people we ordered half order of ttobongee chicken and half order of yang nyum chicken as well as the japchae. Wow. We both agreed that it's some of the best Korean fried chicken that we've had. Favorite between the two of us was the yang nyum chicken: the sauce is just the right amount and adds such rich flavor to the chicken. The chicken is fried to perfection and is nice and moist on the inside. The japchae looks unassuming but tastes pretty good as well! I like that they give you gloves so it makes it easier to eat the chicken. Ordering is easy because you do it from a tablet at the table. When you're ready for the check instead of having to look around and try to make eye contact with a waiter, you can let them know you're ready for the check via the tablet as well. Interior decor is pretty standard: some blue lights with white/yellow lights overhead and it's very well lit inside. Simple tables and chairs mixed with some booths as well. Overall very glad I finally got to try Ttobongee

Cute casual place to go to for a quick bite. It is rather easy to order, each table has an ipad. The servers did check in on ur refilling any condiments and water. The service was super quick. We went around 2 pm and it seems like there is a lot of to go orders rather than sit downs but it can be different for dinner and rush times so account for that. The soy garlic was surprisingly really spicy. It was crispy and flavorful. I enjoyed the rice cakes with the sausages. It was a great starter. The black bean noodles; you can tell the noodles are freshly made and I loved how chewy it was. The portions are huge and I recommend family style!

Ordered this place through DoorDash on Thanksgiving day, it's not bad at all. I would say the food was average and maybe I would have a better experience dining in. I say this because the chicken wasn't crispy at all, it was just regular sauced wings. It wasn't soggy and the restaurant is 13 minutes away from my place, so the wings would have still been crispy if they've fried it longer. It was my first time trying, so I can't confirm how well they fry the food. Interestingly, the food gave me more of a Chinese taste than Korean flavors. The garlic soy had a nice garlicky flavor, but on the saltier side. It was missing the sweet crunch from korean fried chicken. Also, the black bean noodles had a strong ginger flavor which I didn't like because I'm not a big fan of ginger. The noodles were also on the thinner side. I prefer Paik's Noodle style for their noodles, its thicker, chewier & bouncy! I wanted to try this place because other locations have good reviews, but I can see why this place has mixed opinions.

Cold afternoon in the South Bay. No one wanted budae jjigae or soondae, and cold noodles were off the table. So we anchored the meal with jjajangmyeon, and this shop delivered a well-executed table. Tangsuyuk (Fried Pork) - Technically precise The highlight. * Lean pork loin cut into uniform strips * Thin, even batter with a clean break * Pale-gold color indicating controlled oil temperature * Tender interior without dryness The sauce is classic: lightly acidic, balanced sweetness, and just enough viscosity to coat without overwhelming. One of the cleaner, more disciplined versions in the Bay Area. Galbi Fried Chicken - Structured heat Not a sticky-sweet galbi glaze; this one carries real, calibrated spice. * Double-fry technique done correctly * Heat level defined but clean * Aromatics built on garlic, chili, and soy caramelization Surprisingly excellent with jjajangmyeon. Jjajangmyeon - Balanced and properly layered * Firm chew on the noodles * Depth from genuine onion caramelization * Controlled oil layer (sheen, not grease) * Full coating with predictable flavor consistency Exactly the bowl you want on a cold day. Service -- Genuine warmth I greeted the owner in Korean. She thought I was Korean at first; when she realized I wasn't, she became even warmer and more attentive. A small moment, but memorable. Would've ordered a Cass If I wasn't driving, this would've been a Cass meal. Jjajangmyeon + spicy chicken + Cass is a classic trio. A shop that respects its frying, treats jjajangmyeon seriously, and brings honest hospitality. Clear flavors, disciplined execution, and a meal that fits the weather. - Dr C Only writing for what earns the stars.

Perfect spot and vibes for the after work hours. Everyone is nice and service is very on top of it. They welcome you as you walk in and they make you feel very welcomed. Chicken is always a 10/10. Been here 3 times and not once was i disappointed!

This was my first time visiting this place for Korean fried chicken, and it was pretty good, but the wait was extremely long. I ordered half yang nyum & half soy with onion rings and sodduk sodduk. The look & the color of both of those chicken flavors looks similar, so it's hard to tell which is which unless you taste it. The yang nyum was mild spice, which was good in flavor. Onion rings were still crispy and not too hard when I brought it home. The sodduk sodduk was a mix of sweet and savory. It was good, but I probably won't order this again. This place is solid for fried chicken tho.

We had a great time here! We came during lunch hours and were able to get a table right away. The staff here are friendly and the food came out pretty quick. The atmosphere is calm and casual, there was a Korean drama playing on the their TV. We were able to order on the IPAD, complete with pictures of the food! Everything we ordered was delicious, every dish was seasoned perfectly. We will definitely come again the next time we have a Korean fried chicken craving!

It's been a while since we been back to this place. We met my in laws here for dinner. We had to circle around once to find parking. Food- Original chicken: 4/5 nice crispy good flavor. Deep fried chicken: 3/5 too overly fried. It was crispier than the original. Dduk bok gi: 3/5 on the sweet side, very watery. Sweet potato fries: 5/5 good Only come here if you are not in a rush. They take a long time to prep the food once you order.

Despite a busy Sunday during dinner time, we were seated (a group of 4) within 30 minutes. The worst part about this place is how difficult it is yo find parking in the area, but it's not their fault. I don't remember what I ordered, but the food is DELICIOUS. The portions are nice and the service was great. All the workers we interacted with were kind and helpful and attentive. It's not my top favorite Korean chicken wing spot, but it's definitely a solid spot to get your fix.

    3. Half and Half Chicken Combo (original & yang nyum)
    Coleen P.

The chicken is ~*crissssp*~ My boyfriend and I ordered #3 - Half and Half Chicken Combo (original & yang nyum) + fries to share. Good amount of food for the two of us. Some of the chicken drumsticks were massive!! The yang nyum is a sweet chili sauce, but I think I preferred the classic original. I like how the chicken comes with a couple shrimp crackers! Happy with the chicken, but the fries could use salt tho

I think this place gets less credit than it deserves. Their chicken serving sizes are huge! We shared 2 between 3 people with some fried rice and couldn't finish it all. I quite like the interior, it can look small but honestly it's very cozy. I'm not korean but it felt like I was at home with the tv variety shows going on in the background and all that stuff. Their black bean sauce is incredible as well. I actively crave the fried rice with the black bean sauce. The service can be a bit slow at times, but they have always been nothing but cordial to me. I suggest everyone who swings by to go to sulbing also stop at this place before for a nice meal!

My kid has seafood allergies, is the chicken fried with any seafood (I see some shrimp chips in some photos)?

We have nut allergies (tree nuts, peanuts) and were wondering if the fried chicken has any nuts (e.g., in the batter)? Thank you!

I got the galbitang (the special magnum galbitang was already sold out for the day), and my friend got the chef's special rice cake and dumpling soup. Both came out perfectly hot but not burning, and were the comforting, rich, savory and flavorful stews that we were craving. The galbitang had a generous amount of rib meat that was tender but not falling apart, and the perfect amount of glass noodle. The broth was clean and savory, and I really enjoyed the bits of jujube. I tried a bit of the rice cake and dumpling soup as well, and the dumplings were super large with a soft tofu? filling that was really enjoyable with the creamy soup. Special shoutout to the banchan - one of which was raw marinated crab which was super sweet and tasty with the rice. I also really appreciated the barley tea and the sweet pumpkin soup at the end for dessert, which really round out the experience. There's also a pumpkin porridge in the beginning as an appetizer, but I didn't love it because it had a bit of a raw rice flour type flavor to it. Overall, Chungdam is a classic that serves great, flavorful and comforting food, with excellent service and is a great, well rounded experience!

I was surprised that three spicy raw baby crabs were served. To be honest, it was my first time trying it despite hearing about the hype. It paired pretty well with rice. The bossam took a while to come out, and by then we were already pretty full off of the pancake, soup and bibimbap. Service sizes are generous, and this definitely would've been enough for 4+ people to share. There was a great assortment of different banchan - my favorite is the jelly! The pancake was nice and crispy, with a good amount of seafood, the bibimbap had a great amount of crispy rice at the bottom and the tofu soup was comforting and exactly what we were looking for. The bossam had a lot of meat - I kind of wished there was more radish and napa to go with the meat, but it was tender, not too fatty, and satisfying. We had plenty of leftovers to take home.
