Dr Habibi is an excellent Endocrinologist. She listens, is very smart and quickly has suggestions on a medical plan going forward. Technically she knows a lot about the CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) and was able to immediately see how much it helped my husband to learn how what he was eating would affect his blood sugars. A number of years ago I also went to see Dr Alster for my thyroid. I was very happy with his plan that helped calm down my thyroid, and I have a great deal of confidence in this whole practice of doctors / endocrinologists. read more

I saw Dr. David Alster for evaluation of a 12 mm adrenal adenoma and worsening orthostatic hypotension. My experience was a complete waste of five months, and I ultimately had to start the entire process over with another physician. At my third and final appointment, Dr. Alster informed me that two critical tests had been lost. These were tests I had specifically inquired about through the patient portal before that appointment, yet the issue was never addressed until I was sitting in his office. Instead of taking responsibility, he attempted to shift the blame onto me. This was not the first time there had been problems with my testing. Throughout my care, testing instructions were unclear and inconsistent, with different staff members providing conflicting information. Appointments were rushed, making it difficult to ask questions, which is why I relied on the patient portal for communication, which was a waste. Dr. Alster struck me as disorganized, unprofessional, and a poor communicator with little bedside manner. Losing critical tests after five months and then blaming the patient is simply unacceptable. Their phone system is not great.. They never answer your calls unless you remain on line for 40 minutes. Their appointment acknowledgement messages sometimes cancels your appointment. Then you wait on to contact someone 40 minutes. By then, they already scheduled someone else with your time. If you don't have to see them, don't.. they do not care about you. read more

I would give him negative numbers if I could. He is a horrible doctor as well as a horrible human. I've tried to make an appointment with him for the past year and a half I've left messages and no one called me back. My husband has tried five times. Since I have a thyroid problem and need meds other doctors have written my scripts. I've been suffering with a kidney issue for two years, my kidney doctor thinks there is an endocrine problem. Dr Alster refuses to collaborate with her since I couldn't get an appointment with him for the past year and a half. Since there is no money in cures or death he would have me suffer. Everything about this office is horrible. From the attitude filled receptionists to their lack of communication regarding appointments and providers, they will not help you. I had been left waiting in the waiting room for two hours with an 8:20 appointment. After following up with the receptionist three times I was forced to leave. The St. Mary's office turned me away when I was one minute late for an appointment made six months ago. I had done lab work twice in the interval, and the office called me to say that were certain alarming things in the results. Then, after getting in a traffic jam, I was blithely turned away at my appointment which I had told my primary care doctor I was going to have. I am 69 with a failing kidney, kidney stones and diabetes. This St. Mary's office of Tucson Endocrine Associates has been neglectful, never giving me the name of a doctor. I've only seen assistants. They owe me money for when I had no change for the $20 I gave for a co-pay last time. I will now have to go to the trouble of finding a decent endocrinologist. read more

I would rate my experience here as horrible. My provider refused to see me because after years of being a patient here to manage my Type I diabetes, I was 11 minutes late and their grace period is 10 min. In all of the years I have been a patient here I have never been late before. You called before I was actually late and explained that I got out of work a few minutes late and was also experiencing a hypoglycemic episode ( a result of my Type I diabetes). The office staff was extremely rude, condescending, & combative when I was begging them to allow me to keep my appointment. They were laughing and making fun of my situation with each other which is extremely unprofessional. As a result of my refusal to be seen I now cannot refill my prescription for insulin (which my life depends on). In addition to this experience the phones are never answered in a timely manner and it extremely difficult to get any help or response from this office. read more

I had an appointment just after 1pm, they didn't bother to even open the door 5 minutes prior to 1pm to check in. They would rather their patients wait in the heat, It was 110° outside. An appointment that i had scheduled for a Tuesday was rescheduled to Thursday and when i get there they didn't have me on the schedule even after sending 2 appointment reminders the day before for the day and time i arrived. This follow up was scheduled PER THE PROVIDER (Danielle L.) prior to a inpatient surgical procedure i am scheduled to have in less than 1 week and no accommodation was even attempted at all whatsoever, i was the one trying to be flexible and work with their schedule when THEY cancelled MY appointment. I'm not sure why they push the patient portal so hard when no one bothers to respond. I sent a message on Tuesday asking for someone to get back to me...it still hasn't been responded to. To actually speak with someone on the phone here without having to wait 8+ minutes on hold is impossible, AND when you're actually in the office you'll hear the phones ring constantly but no one answers, even though you can clearly see staff on their cell phones at the front desk, so when i call and wait on hold i know it's because the staff doesn't care enough to answer, don't bother leaving a message or two.. they don't get back to those either. I work at a doctors office, (front and back) i couldn't imagine making my patients wait in their hot cars or outside in 100+ degrees!!! never respond to their messages or not answer when they call. The worst part of all of this is that i'm having surgery in a week, this appointment was a NEED not a "want" and the staff didn't even try to help me, they say i cancelled my appointment to cover their butts when that's not true.. being in the field i'm always a pleasant patient because i know what it's like to deal with unpleasant ones. Without causing a scene or being disrespectful to the staff, i didn't raise my voice, i didn't demand to be seen, i just walked out. In a time where i'm concerned for my health and just trying to be on top of things prior to a big surgery.. that was tough for me. I was going to the LaCholla Rd. office. If you have never gone to this office - DON'T!!! I have never been treated with such rudeness and disrespect! I've been transferred from from one nurse practitioner to another. Last week I left a message FIVE different times requesting that someone return my call. I never herd a word! Then today, traffic was terrible on Ina Rd (due to Orange Grove being closed at the interstate). I walked into their office at 9:31a for my 9:20a appointment. I was denied care because I was ONE MINUTE past their "acceptable" time. I asked what that was and she responded that it was 10 minutes. So basically, I was refused treatment because I was 1 minute late. I then asked about the five messages I left last week because I was very concerned about my bloodwork. She ignored my question and asked if I wanted to come back at 1:30pm or on May 20th! I explained that I was coming from 35 miles away and only came into town for this appointment. I told her traffic was super bad and all I got was a blank stare as she said, so is it this afternoon or May 20th? I told her I'm not wasting any more of my time with this practice and walked out. read more

Had been a patient of Dr Zwart/Troy for about 20 months. Saw the Doctor on my first visit for about three minutes. Subsequent visits were with Troy. 2020 visits were via zoom. Other than encouraging me to lower my A1C, NO changes were suggested in my treatment Recently, my GP asked me what Tucson End. was doing for me. I said NOTHING. He prescribed a drug called Invokana. It has its risks but has lowered my A1C almost 2 points and helps me maintain a consistent glucose level. Called Tucson End, spoke to a staff member requesting to see the Doctor. The message I received from the Doctor was.........he reviews my situation with Troy after every visit and my A1C has lowered. Dr I saw was ok. I was encouraged to use their electronic portal without ever being informed that they CHARGE you to use the portal. That's right, if your doctor sent you a message on the portal and your answer they charge you. There's nothing in writing and no verbal warning that using the portal generates charges and they are wholly unapologetic about that fact. They also charge fees for paying with a card, no one uses checks anymore and they know that. This practice will find any way they can to pad billing. Go elsewhere. read more

I truly appreciate the level of care I receive by the Physicians Assistant (Beth), but have never been seen by a doctor. One rushed in the exam room once said "looks good, looks good!" And rushed out again. Not sure what looked good, me? The office? Did they get new paint in the exam room? Who knows! As for the front office...it's a roller a coaster. Some days you'll get told to sign in using the automated kiosk, other days they'll want you to utilize the staff at the front desk. It's very confusing. As for office wait times, bring a book! A big one because time management is an unknown theory at this office! You'll be seen sometime before they close probably, but never within 45 minutes of your scheduled appointment time. More likely to be within 90-120 minutes, it's pretty ridiculous to be honest! No wifi makes the wait especially enthralling let me tell you. I have been seeing Dr. Sherry Fieldman for about 6 months now for an Adrenal Tumor. She is incredibly nice, thorough, and is the best doctor I have seen in any specialty or field... honestly. She communicates quickly through the online Patient Portal which is GREAT because I dislike calling the office. She always makes me feel hopeful and answers every question I might have.. I just truly appreciate her demeanor and professionalism. My only complaint is some of the receptionists are a little "meh" but nothing horrible. She was very over the top and told me to shut up and listen she also lied to me about the office manager availability. I've had very good experiences with this office. Dr. Zwart, who I have seen for the past few years for thyroid issues, is extremely knowledgable and has a good bedside manner. He closely monitors my thyroid levels and really listens to me if I feel that something is off. I love that this office has a patient portal online where I can see my lab results quickly and email the doctor with questions (which he always responds to within a day). I believe that a couple of these reviews were somehow miscategorized since there is no hallway where bugs live and I cannot believe anyone was rude in any way. What Tucson Endocrine Associates is is a well oiled machine. Each person including both doctors work efficiently at their respective jobs as with their system and work ethic in place the two docs are able to see a great number of patients quickly without sacrificing care, courtesy and pleasantries. I will warn you though ,that, if you wish to converse about the weather or gossip about a patient or doctor you will have to gain a listening ear after the doors close. Focusing on their respective functions and following through is how they keep this well oiled machine moving forward. Chat about the weather? If you say, "it's hot" someone will agree but may not allow the time to discuss barometric pressure, virga or dewpoint with you cause they are busy providing what people go there for. I have been a patient with Tucson Endrocrine for 10 years. The staff are personable and easy to talk with. The doctors are top notch. I worked with Dr. Alster when I had a tumor on my thyroid. He knows his medicine! Later, I move to Dr. Zwart and Dr. Freedman in follow up for my thyroid medications and with an adrenal issue. Their on-line patient portal is an excellent option for communicating with the doctor. The medical staff play attention to the portal daily and communicate back and forth with the doctors. I am very glad that my primary care doctor referred me to this practice. If the patient communicates clearly (and compassionately) with the office staff, they reciprocate. read more

Worst place ever! Bugs found in the halls on the way to the office. Visible grime on every surface. I was scared to even have my children there. Office is not cleaned in between patients. The dr didn't even act like he believed me even though the low numbers were right in front of his face. Was asked multiple times if I had an eating disorder, I guess if I'm not morbidly obese I'm anorexic? I'm 114 lbs at 5'3", 114 is normal. I highly suggest the health department makes them get their sh*t straight. My 3 year old cleans better than that office!!! read more
