I had a very bad experience with Richard Chan. He answer a credit card summon against me. He charged $900 to my card and assured me that I was not going to a judgement, but a few weeks later I start receiving lot of legal documents from Court and a legal firm. Richard never answers, and when he does, he wants to charge me again for each advice. By the way, his office is always closed and he works with shorts and sandals. Too bad!!! read more

Richard Chan came to my Assisted Living Home this past weekend and did a notary for one of my residents who had no identification and is confused. I can't say more in regards to my resident but what Richard did was ILLEGAL! read more

DO NOT USE RICHARD CHAN unless you don't mind being the VICTIM OF A SCAM. He is unprofessional, rude, distracted, dishonest, and incompetent. I originally called Tucson Legal Documents and spoke with Richard Chan, and conveyed that I wanted to make a couple of changes to my Living Trust. He said he could do what I requested, and we set an appointment. When I arrived for the appointment, he was disorganized, distracted, and not paying attention while intermittently dealing with a couple of other people in the office. He rushed through the appointment (which lasted about 5 minutes), charged me $650 on my card, and did not listen to a word I said as he ushered me out the door. The red flags went up, and I felt I should NOT have paid him in advance. A couple of weeks later, he emailed me "the work", and to my astonishment, he had not done anything of what I had requested. He sent me the same paperwork I had provided him, with literally no changes other than a few mistakes from vestiges of some of his previous clients. In my estimation, he had probably spent 15 minutes on my file with no obvious changes. I felt that he had overcharged me and had literally scammed me with no remorse. I should have read YELP reviews before dealing with him, as I found out afterward that many others have also been scammed by him. My advice to anybody thinking about doing business with Richard Chan is, DO NOT DO IT unless you don't mind being robbed. Whatever "professional license" he may have it should be cancelled and not be allowed to cheat people out of their hard earned money. read more

I was in need of several legal documents and contacted Richard Chan at Tucson Legal Documents. First I sent an email and he replied with pricing. BTW, my opinion is that the prices were on the high side. I had some questions and called him on the telephone. He was very rude, would not listen to my questions, cut me off short and then hung up on me. He also quoted me a higher price on the phone than he had previously offered in his email. In my honest opinion, I am concerned that he would not properly do the job and was not willing to hear my needs. He said we could not offer legal advice and could not recommend an attorney because he did not work with one. I would not recommend Tucson Legal documents, I would find someone else! read more

I had the most incredible experience with Richard. I was cautious because of the other review on here, but realized there were a ton of other positive reviews in the "Not Recommended" section. I'm so glad I looked there, because they really set my mind at ease. Richard was able to get me in quickly. He helped me with documents that I needed for a motion to enforce regarding my divorce. The judge ended up approving my request and I would've been so lost without these documents. Richard was professional, attentive to detail, and personable. He was very affordable, especially compared to the quotes I received from three other lawyers for the same documents. He had just renovated and his office was clean and inviting (I'm assuming this is the bathroom issue that the other reviewer mentioned, but I'd prefer a renovated bathroom over an old one). The voice in your head said don't do it!! Should have listened!, Called this place up for information about starting a living trust and the owner Richard quoted over the phone it would cost upper $750. So I set up an appointment to see him and on arriving it felt like I was the first ever client to walk in! Nothing appeared to ever have been used? The desk, the chairs the phone the carpets the everything!! ?? He said after we started the 20 min process, do you want to add your home to the trust? Well hello yes!! Of course that's another $179.!! Then when I asked him how payment was made he said now in full! I said I would prefer to give a 50% down then 50% upon signing the documents since it was going to take a few days to make it seem like he worked for the money I guess? He then said how do I know you won't take the documents and not come back once he emails them to me for review? I thought how do I know you won't take the money and not do your job? This is when I should have packed up my stuff and left! Long story short $900. for what took him at best 1 hour, and when my wife need to use the rest room he claimed he didn't have one! The guy needs to mature and wake up if he wants to stay in business! He would not answer even the most basic questions or help us in any way other then take the money!! Do yourself a favor go somewhere else, or use legal-zoom it's only 250. for the same simple crap!! What a scam!! read more

Richard seemed professional at first. He is very young, which may have had an effect on this incident. Could be simply a lack of customer service policies and practices. He had problems spelling names even when given to him in writing (I let him copy the information from my license, and that he recorded incorrectly). He also had difficulty with other details. When I pointed out these things he became very defensive. He had a hard time dealing with the fact that he made mistakes in the documents. He soon became tired of my instructions and refused to complete the work, i.e. he refused to notarize his own work leading me to wonder about the legal integrity of his work. Then he did not show up for a very important scheduled appointment. He claimed to have called and left a message. I received no message. When I finally was able to make contact, he told me he was done with me and that I should get a notary to sign whatever I have. His tactic in resolving disputes is apparently simpIe avoidance in my case. I now have to hire another paralegal to check his work and re-do the documents correctly if necessary. I'm out 350 bucks. He has now refused to take my calls. I do not believe this business has the professionalism or ethical integrity to be of genuine value to anyone as conducted. read more
