The outside tables were full, so we got a table inside, which was fine as it was a bit chilly that evening. We were greeted and brought to a table and given menus. We ordered wine, a both red and white for the table, we ordered the charcuterie plate, as well as Swedish Meatballs. Our friendly server brought the wine, the red was perfect (I love how they let you taste it first here), and then this huge plate of charcuterie! The wine paired perfectly with it, so good. My meatballs arrived and first, the plate was a work of art, and they were spectacular! Everybody else's meals were also spectacular, especially the fish soup- Incredible! We had a great time, the staff were friendly, and the restaurant itself was like a work of art. I wnet back a couple of days later and had meatballs again, but this time I sat outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. I will be coming back again before I leave.

When I arrived at around 7 pm on Thursday, I pretty much got lucky scoring the last table left without the reservation. Decided to go with a fixed dinner menu, containing appetizer, entree, and dessert. There was also recommended wine selection, so I discussed it with the server, and he suggested that if I don't want to drink dessert wine, I would be better off just getting wine pairing for the first two dishes. Perfect. The first wine was Pinot Noir from New Zealand, and the first dish was deer Carpaccio. Both were excellent in its own right - good wine, tasty dish, the pairing worked together. Second wine poured was California Ghost Pines Chardonnay, which by the glass costs there as a whole bottle back in the USA. Okay, but then this is a mediocre wine, and while the cod was made very well, the pairing really didn't work. The dessert was advertised as chocolate ganache or so, but the actual dish had a large serving of the gelato in a middle, with tiny mounds of chocolate around. The most captive part of the dish was some chewy candy bits on top of the ice cream, in appearance resembling the salmon caviar, but an overall combination with gelato was excellent. Each chocolate mound had a piece of caramel inserted into it, which was really annoying as it was getting stuck to the teeth. So far the food was good, the wines were okay and not, but the worst part was service. Got half a glass of water poured, no pitcher left as on all other tables had to flag someone down to get more water despite sitting across from the bar where someone was constantly at. Nobody really cared if/how I liked the food etc., which, considering the food prices in Sweden was rather annoying. So we have food at 4.5, wines at 3 and service at 3. The staff were really nice and helpful with their list of wines and cocktails. I will say that we did wait awhile for service to come back to use for any other drinks. It could be due to low staff but they were doing their best during that time. The atmosphere was so cool with the dime light and the open kitchen to see your cook creating your dish as the bar area. 5 out of 6 of us got stomach flu…read more 5 out of 6 members of our group of childhood friends simultaneously suffered from severe gastrointestinal issues following a visit to a local restaurant. A long night filled with repeated vomiting and diarrhea was followed by a week of sick leave for several of us. We all consumed the same dishes, yet none of us have fully recovered and still struggle with our appetite several days after the visit. The restaurant informed us that the oysters in one of the dishes might have been the source of the infection and that they are now considering removing them from the menu. However, this response feels insufficient given the severity of our symptoms and the fact that all of us were so severely affected. The owner, Björn, has refused to refund us for the meal that led to the illness and has instead offered gift certificates at a lower value to visit Koka or any of his other restaurants. This option is unacceptable to us; we want a full refund and have no desire to visit any of his establishments again. We have filed a complaint with the Swedish Environmental Administration and have informed the Guide Michelin about the incident. We feel it is important that the public is aware of how this restaurant conducts its business. We urge everyone reading this to spread the information further. It is important that consumers are informed and protected against similar experiences.

I was here for work for a week…read more Naturally my curiosity took me around the city and I stumbled upon this market. It doesn't look like much from the inside but it's inside is filled with many different vendors and purveyors of meats, produce, and an array of grocery items. Good thing they had items on display since I didn't know what the Swedish words were for the food items. It's a bustling market and it's where the locals go to buy their ingredients for the day or next day. I don't see huge shopping carts in these parts like at home. Meat and veggies look the same here in the market, so easy to distinguish what you are buying. Many Swedes do speak English and probably better than I would be attempting to speak any lick of Swedish I have learned from my expat friends in Germany.

I like the Caesar salad here. It's often my fallback choice if I don't see anything particularly appetizing. Overall the restaurant is okay. Although you can't help get the feeling that it's too canteen-like.
