Over promised and under delivered! Job placement rate that we were told, only one kid out of the program left with a job. Recruiters that we were told would be coming in and interviewing the kids. One company came in in my son's final month there. We were told someone would help them with their resumes and apply for jobs, give them insight into the field. Never happened. I have a family member who wanted to learn a trade. Went to TWS in Jacksonville. After taking 2 different courses on welding, it took 30 applications to jobs before he was hired with a company. Was told he would be working with owner to improve his skills because and i quote "Tulsa welding school sucks and any welders that come out of there, can't pass a welding test to get hired". Well as of today he has yet to weld for this company . Used as a grunt to cut pipe EVERY SINGLE DAY. Has not welded once with his new job in 7 months, that he was hired as a WELDER for!!!!! read more

First of all, the company TWS I'm sure might be better in Tulsa, OK. but not here in JAX. I have had my stuff stolen here multiple times, and they don't give a damn about it. I was told at the beginning of the school by my instructor that it would be okay to leave the SCHOOL PAID AND GIVEN toolbox at the PRIVATE PAID school. I first had the lock stolen from my box, then my tig set, then the whole toolbox. I tried to get camera footage for when my tig set got stolen and each person I talked to just told me to go to another person. I went to Jay (Senior Director) of the school and was told "it's like leaving your car at Walmart and blaming Walmart for it getting stolen". No. It was like leaving my $850 welding box at my $23,056 (before federal aid) welding school funded by the damn government. They also have (at the time of this) a whole stand for putting your boxes on. They cannot say it's not for boxes because they had to specifically create it for you to leave your box at school. To be honest I would believe the school put those there to make you feel safe and get you to pay more by taking it themselves or not caring if someone else did. Another excuse was they "didn't know when it occurred" and "couldn't tell it apart from the others" when I had a date and time. Multiple people told me multiple different things. "Go to this person" "the cameras are being worked on" "we can't do anything because it looks too similar". When I also had my tig set stolen it was the end of the phase, and they made me redo it anyway which is $4,000. If I had another chance, I would move far away from TWS Jacksonville and never speak of it again. The housing is just so they can control you even more by treating you like a damn child. No candles, no extension cords, no pets, no this, no that, the only reason I picked it was because I am trying to make a career with no money, but I just want to die after this. Great school community and very helpful when it comes to looking for a job after graduation.

I went here for the EA program. Waste of time and money. The instructors don't teach anything and all they do is smoke cigarettes everyo 30 mins and sit at there desk taking a nap. You waste 5 and a half hours either sitting there or doing lab work. The hands on lab work you'll get a A... But then you start to realize even the people who don't do anything or show up also get a A. The school is about money and having a bunch of graduates. About 80 percent that graduate literally don't know what they are doing. I called them out on it and got spam phone calls and text to come back and talk to them absolutely not. They force you during recruitment and also scam you with fake scholarships and grants to where at the end of it all you have to pay it all back and be in more debt. All their good reviews are from instructor or the staff..... I heard this by another instructor while he was talking to a staff member about it. I talked to a union doing research about this school and about 90% of companies or employers hiring from anyone from tws. They give you a certificate that no employer looks at read more
