The two man crew came out a few months later (July) and took care of the problem FAST. Yes, the main valve was turned off (by unknown person), and they replaced two broken sprinkler heads, and prigrammed the timer. Then the workers show up and really didn't seem to know much, spoke no English and brought nothing to protect from spraying into the garden areas or fence. My landscaper had to step in and find a large box cardboard to prevent spraying into the garden. They left slurry on my fences and walkways. Five weeks later the grass did not grow in large areas where the hydro seed was first sprayed and yet the grass areas grew where it had been towards the end of the Surry/seed mix. I think the seed in slurry was not mixed in correctly. I don't know, but the results have been miserable. When we contacted the owner, he wouldn't listen to our complaints. He said if we provided the seed (and I had purchased expensive high quality seed), he was not responsible for any hydro seed results.

In our case it was the "mandatory" grass strip between our sidewalk and curb. Here's how it went. First, they dug out the dying chemical ridden turf 4-6". Chicken wire was placed at the bottom to keep the damn moles away. (A trick learned by Preston's personal experience) afterwards they layed a compacted sand/gravel base layer. After the turf was layed down they applied a specialized almost dust like sand to keep the blades from bunching or lying flat. The result? An outstanding job at a competitive price. Not a seam, weed, or mole to be found anywhere. Could not be more pleased if I tried...... So....Anyone interested in a used mower? Edit. Forgot to mention they were on hands and knees with tiny scissors trimming the errant blades. After the job was "done and paid for'.... Attention to detail? Yeah, that s important.
