This is a very basic Turkish Airlines Star Alliance Gold lounge at the Izmir Airport. We were able to check in after showing our star alliance gold card (which if you're United is also available on your app) and choose some of the comfortable seating near the door. Their fare was extremely basic Turkish breakfast, uncut cucumbers, uncut fruit, waters (some of which didn't open), soup, and cereal. I will say I would have liked there to have been a children's area, but the seats had American outlets and we appreciated being able to charge our devices which we usually can't do in the Izmir airport itself. Another note was that it was also quite pleasant to get away from the massage chairs that make terrible error noises in the terminal at large, since they seem to always be a constant when we're commuting through. All in all, we appreciated the lounge although it could stand to have a few more amenities. read more

Small but nice lounge on ground floor overlooking tarmac. It's located at the far right end of ADM domestic terminal. Refreshments are modest, and there is no beer, wine, or alcohol. This Star Alliance lounge has the same problem as many do -- the hostess didn't want to honor a United Club/Star Alliance Lifetime Membership card. read more

There is a private / separate CIP / business class entrance in to the airport at the domestic terminal. We returned our rental car to the parking garage. It was more convenient to enter the airport and use the regular security and baggage check entrance. We walked until the sign near gate 242 guided us to the elevator for the CIP lounge downstairs. It is a wheelchair accessible lounge. There are cookies, sandwiches, salad fixings, and a daily soup. Today's selection was tomato. There is a list of ingredients for breakfast foods. Food options aren't as abundant as some other lounges. Traditional juice, ayran, sparkling sodas, bottled water, herbal and regular teas are available. There is a Turkish coffee and regular coffee machine. The Turkish coffee machine is easy to use. Electrical outlets are available at some seats. Restrooms and showers are clean. Showers have toiletries, blow dryer, slippers and small towels available for use. There is a television playing quietly in one corner. There is a constantly updating flight screen. They also announce flight boarding status. Boarding is available directly from the lounge to each flight. That makes it worth five stars for me. No need to leave the lounge to go to the boarding gate. read more

Definitely not a fan of the small airport or the even smaller lounge. The staff were rude and because there was a language barrier, it came off even ruder. There was a lot of finger foods but nothing looked appetizing and they left the lids off so no telling how long things have been sitting without being wrapped. I spent about 10 min in the lounge before leaving. read more

Away from the crowds of the airport, this spacious lounge is located to the far right of the domestic terminal with a separate entrance. Disclaimer: This is a Star Alliance Gold lounge, OR I believe you can get access if you are flying first class. 1) One could check in at the dedicated counter and check bags here as well. 2) Turkish Airlines gate agents are knowledgeable and very helpful as well as courteous and polite. 3) There is ample space to roam around and there is a massage chair located to the left of the entrance. 4) There is so much food! I have only been here for a couple of times for breakfast but food is plenty and delicious. 5) There is a charging station located in the SW back wall if your phone needs some extra juice. 6) There is a pool table outside of the lounge. 7) There are more than enough outlets located next to almost every seat. The lounge is very very clean. The bathrooms are well maintained. There is however a lack of reading materials in English. My suggestion would be to include more international press. This is by no means a big lounge or anything comparable to the Turkish Airlines International lounge in Istanbul but it sure will suffice for your basic needs. read more
