The breakfasts at Turning Point are fantastic. I ordered the Avocado Benny, which is eggs Benedict with avocado. Eggs were perfectly poached, the bacon was crisp, and the toasted ciabatta really worked. The service needs improvement. I'm not talking about the waitstaff- they are great. I'm talking about the overall restaurant management. It can take a long time to get a table, and then you might wait a while for your food. That said, I will definitely go back again and again for the unique and refreshing juice creations, the French Press coffee, and for the food. There are so many good options on the menu, it's hard to choose so I'll have to go back to enjoy more from the menu. read more

We ordered plain pancakes and their special, bourbon walnut banana pancakes. To our disappointment the pancakes were very dry and hard to swallow w/o a gulp of orange juice. On the other hand, their house blend coffee was not so bad. I was originally going to order their chicken and waffles and until I read their chicken were strips. Anyways the total bill came out to be about $25 and that's a bit steep for pancakes that I almost choked on. As for service, it was pretty slow and inefficient, especially when there weren't that many customers this morning. I saw they had a "hiring" sign on the door. We ordered delivery and after hours of starvation, we finally got our food. We were extremely happy because of the hotness of the food and overall presentation of our food. When we started to dig in, we noticed meat in our food. In our description of our food, we mentioned "NO CHICKEN CHORIZO SAUSAGE PLEASE" because we can't eat meat. So I called the restaurant (I never really complain but there's meat in our food and we waited an hour for it too) so the waitress picked up and said "you asked for no chicken sausage, so we gave you a different sausage". No ma'am, we asked for no sausage because the menu said it comes with chicken chorizo sausage so we asked for no sausage. She put me with the manager, and I said the same thing so the manager remade it and we had to lock it up. I was so upset that we need to pick it up when we spent money in delivery maybe it's because we used DoorDash instead. We got our food and got no sour cream and salsa. I've been here twice and both times really great service and food. Portions are large with plenty of sides and they really cater to all corners of a brunch menu! They have two pages dedicated to non-alcoholic beverages. My visit this past weekend was delightful. I didn't realize they give a full pitcher of water and coffee pot, lol how convenient. Whether you're a full family table or just out with 2. I ordered the big easy Benedict and my BF had the classic benedict. I went to Turning Point for brunch with a friend a couple of weeks ago. The food was delicious. The coffee might be the best I've ever had... Not only did our selection from their french press options turn out to be as good as coffee gets, but I also ordered a cold brew ice coffee which was amazing. Our server was great. She had to rush around a bit since the place was crowded and had a line waiting, but she was professional and personable, and she checked in on our table appropriately often and pleasantly. So... Why not five stars? Well, I have a few things for the complaints and grievances segment of the review which should make clear that, really, they got the fourth star because the parts that went right deserved six or more out of five stars. First (but least importantly), there was a wait for a table that dragged on a bit longer than predicted. Second, their seating area for those waiting for tables (and I've gathered that people are often waiting for tables) is rather limited... Having passed on sitting to make the chairs available for those who needed them more, I spent a fair amount of time while we waited for a table working on my dancing footwork trying to stay out of servers' way. And, third (most importantly), I ordered the Nutella Dream, a special that was supposed to be banana bread french toast with strawberries and Nutella. Now, what I got was delicious. I was in a bit of a hurry (not their fault), so I ate what I got and loved it. But, there was no Nutella. It was delicious as I got it, so it panned out OK, and it's on me that I was in a hurry and didn't ask for the error to be corrected... But, how does a dish get to the table without its namesake ingredient? What I got (despite the missing namesake ingredient) was incredibly delicious. The coffee (both the fancy named variety in the french press and whatever they put in the cold brew) was day-making and maybe life-changing. The service, once we had a table, was excellent. I want to start out by saying I loved the atmosphere inside- definitely a nice place to sit down and eat for breakfast or lunch. I also love the fact that they have outdoor seating for beautiful days such as the one when I visited. The service was average. The menus we received were missing their specials page so the waitress had to go find ones that had it- wasn't too big of a deal but would be nice to have it from the start. The food was good(you could get the same thing elsewhere) but don't order their cold teas unless you like bitter, unsweetened drinks. Overall it was a good experience. The Turning Point far EGGceded my expectations! I was prepared to enjoy a unique breakfast but was pleasantly surprised to find my favorite Cuban Sandwich on its menu. Their version of the popular Cubano Sandwich was a instant favorite. The "Pavo Cubano" was authentic and hit all the marks! Ham, Turkey, Swiss Cheese, Pickles and Mustard on Cuban Bread. Delicious! Everyone was nice. The place is nice inside. Nothing seems to be wrong till the food comes out. They don't know how to make eggs over easy/medium/hard. Served what I can only imagine is microwaved soft white English muffins. The omelet lacked size considering it was supposed to be "3 eggs", which is a sign of someone that doesn't know how to add salt and whip the eggs properly before cooking the omelette. The home fries were OK but to look at them would think have more seasoning and flavor, not sure what was on them (expired spices??). All of the food was more or less bland. The water was undrinkable, and I don't say this lightly it was absolutely vile and had a brownish tint. I don't know why you would even serve that without filtering the tap. Nothing special about this place at all, First Watch is better and similar vibe. To start, manager was very nice and refunded for mistake. But from a food prep perspective why would you give someone black (over ripe, rancid) Avocado? The color is impossible to miss. Potatoes way over cooked and salty that came with Eggs Benny. Couldnt even put a fork inside them, had to use fork like a spoon to scope them up. They were packed, and we were told it was a 30 minute wait but we probably waited about 20 minutes. They look like a beautiful brunch place on the inside, and we were seated on the patio. Our drinks were brought quickly, but the food took quite a while to come out. This place just opened up, so we cut them a little slack. But our orders came out with all kinds of mistakes. The server wrote down everything correctly, so he couldn't be blamed. I ordered the breakfast nachos, with the sausage on the side, and the scrambled eggs on the side mixed with cheese, plus a side of sourdough toast. I also asked if they could throw on jalapenos, and if they don't have any then they could just bring out hot sauce. They didn't have jalapenos, no big deal. The nachos came with sausage in it, and the toast was forgotten. Unfortunately, I had to send the nachos back because I wanted the sausage on the side for my boyfriend, as meat in my food is a big no for me. My boyfriend ordered French toast with a side of eggs and a side of rye toast. His eggs and toast were forgotten, but brought out later. When we got things all worked out, both of our meals and eggs turned out to be great! A woman, likely the manager, came by shortly and apologized for all of the mistakes and comp'd my nachos and gave us coupons for the next time we visit. Honestly, I appreciate that they came and apologized and tried to make everything right. The food here was absolutely delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the place is still very new and just has to work out a few kinks, and likely some communication errors between staff. Hubs had been here 3 times before I finally made it here yesterday. What a nice option for breakfast and lunch. The decor is something I'd call coastal country...it even has a fireplace. Our server was young but very professional. It seemed everyone was training someone (they've only been open for a month); for this reason service was a tad slow but that's understandable and forgivable. My daughter's Belgian waffle was enormous and fluffy. Her chocolate coffee shake was equally delicious. My 50-year-old metabolism went for some less calorie laden options- avocado toast with eggs over easy. It was good, but the addition of some goat cheese on the avocado toast would've really taken it to another level. Prices were reasonable, as well. The table was completely slanted so badly my phone would slide off of it. I order a triple decker sandwich and there was more bread than bacon, cheese, and other promised ingredients. The middle piece of bread was actually the end of the loaf and I assume they tried to hide it in the middle so I didn't notice. Very disappointed. It is unfortunate that I have to leave this review, but Turning Point will not survive the stiff competition of Blue bell restaurants if they do not fix their problems. My siblings and I went there for lunch today. 10/10 for atmosphere 10/10 for service BUT 1/10 for food 5/10 for hospitality I'll start from good to bad: The GOOD: 1. The only pleasant experience about Turning Point was their cold pressed juices. They were absolutely delicious! The BAD: 1. My brother ordered the chicken and waffles. The there was a thick and LUMPY gravy completely drenched on the waffles. The gravy was lumpy, bland, and lukewarm. Unfortunately, since the gravy was completely drenched on the waffle, the actual waffle turned out soggy. My brother even asked for syrup to try and make the waffle edible. When I tasted some of his waffle, I had to spit it out into my napkin. 2. My sister ordered the Honey Sriracha Chicken Bowl. The first major problem was that it was supposed to come with kale, black beans, corn, peppers, fresh avocado, brown rice & chicken breast. However, her bowl did NOT come with peppers,avocado, or corn! The worst part was, her chicken was RAW in the middle. I even used my finger to touch the chicken and it was raw flesh. The manager asked my sister if she wanted another bowl, but the first bowl was not even tasty. It was very bland so she decided to let it be. 3. Now, my food was the worst. I ordered the Cilantro lime shrimp bowl. My shrimp was RAW. I am talking gray pieces of uncooked shrimp. I was totally disgusted. It's like the chef didn't even cross check the food before serving it. 4. We also ordered a side of cornbread. The cornbread was black on the bottom. The manager did repeatedly tell us that she was going to take care of the bill for us. However, we were SHOCKED to see that they still charged us $13 for the juices. I didn't want to cause a scene or draw any attention to ourselves so we just paid the $13, tipped the waitress, and walked over to Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza next door for a real meal. I was just disappointed that after the manager promised to comp us by taking care of our bill, she still charged us $13 for the juices. After enduring raw food and an unpleasant dining experience, it would have been a friendly gesture to include the juices. I wish we had looked at the reviews prior to dining at this restaurant. The reviews are poor. Now I can confirm that the reviews are an accurate representation of the food quality at this restaurant. We have lived in the area for many years. We have dined at almost every restaurant in the area. I can confidently say that, Turning Point will not last for the long haul if this is the quality of food that they serve to their customers. Izzie's Deli is just down the road and one of Blue Bell's favorite breakfast spots. Best of luck trying to compete with them if you intend on serving raw food. Final note to the manager: $13 isn't a big deal, but please do not promise to comp a bill when you still intend on charging for juice. It was very tacky. Took myself out for breakfast last Sunday and had a delightful experience eating at the counter with my waitress Rachel who was attentive, engaging, and helpful. I wanted something simple: just scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, crispy home fries and rye toast and it was all great and reasonably priced. In addition, though it was not on their expansive coffee menu, Rachel whipped me up a fabulous decaf mocha hot coffee using just hot cocoa mix, cream, and coffee. My breakfast was great, my mocha coffee was excellent, and Rachel is a gem. I'm no fan of national chain restaurants and was a little hesitant based on some of these reviews but I'm glad I gave the place a try.
