The hotel its self is perfect sized,very clean and tidy,rooms are bright,breakfast is full english AND you get a choice of what you want served!! and location is perfect as its out the way of noisy night clubs,and perfect for the pleasure beach or sandcastle swimming pool. All the places i have stayed i felt that oban house was the best it was like being part of the family. As for the food well what can i say it was fab the Dinners Mmmm and puddings you just have to try them marie is a fab cook and i wanted to bring her home. Now as for heather she had me laughing most the time and i really enjoyed her company while having a drink or two. I will defo be staying with these to ladys when i visit blackpool again. It sits in Ribble Valley and still holds much of the original foundation. There are frequent events, such as themed teas and dinners, workshops, Christmas festivities, and wedding showcases. There is plenty of parking and a lot of space for weddings, large events, conferences, etc. We came here for a Saturday night dinner with friends. There was a wedding going on which seemed to take up much of the foyer and bar area, but luckily we came right after they moved into the large event space joining the bar. I'm not sure why wedding guests are mixed with the general public bar/dining areas - that seems to be a flaw here. Dinner was very much ~okay~, but I was kind of expecting a lot more given how luxurious and historical this venue is. The service was very slow and inattentive. Food was average. A few staff were hard at work while others just stood there chatting. When we were given dessert wine instead of port, we were told we were wrong and had to essentially convince the server to switch our incorrect drinks out - which should never happen at a nice restaurant. I give this venue a good rating due to the ambiance, but I certainly would recommend vast improvement in service.

The…read moreConiston is a destination hotel affixed on 1,400 acres of sprawling hills in the Yorkshire countryside. You name it, the Coniston has got it. Spa, 4x4 off road driving, cycling routes, fly fishing, scenic walking, falconry, restaurant, shooting range, monthly events, and wedding venue. I mean... seriously Coniston you're just showing off at this point. We came here for a nice walk (picture friendly cows frolicking in a pasture next to an open dirt road overlooking endless green fields), as well as clay shooting. Honestly I'd come here for the walk alone, but the shooting range was awesome. Tons of shooting stands and clay shoots for every scenario - rabbit, pheasant, etc. There was a lovely cafe at the entrance with friendly staff who were very knowledgeable about equipment and safety (as well as coffee lol). We just brought our rifles, purchased bullets at the entrance, and off we went. Heads up - training is offered for newbies if you'd like to learn as well! Overall, fabulous experience so far at the Coniston. We're already planning our next long weekend here so we can really experience everything the property has to offer!

Mode Hotel was well priced, had a sea view and included a continental breakfast. The car park is a little tight and I only have a tiny car. She clearly explained eveyrthing, including the honesty bar (you write down everything you take). Our room was modern and simple. The bed was very comfortable- we slept well. The shower was good and there was a hospitality tray. Breakfast was serviceable though not the best ever. Fruit, yoghurt, cereal and fruit juices were all enjoyable. We went to the cafe on the pier for a full English one morning. Mode Hotel is a reasonably priced and comfortable hotel. We were happy and would stay again.
