I wanted so bad to give this the full five stars but it was closed when my mom and I went mid April of last year. I have seen on their web site they will be opening back up of this year on March 10th. Honestly, it was the middle of the week but there was no signage of any kind saying 'closed' and nary a soul could be found on the premise. We walked around back and looked at all the various rail cars (several very cool, very old cabooses and a 51 year-old boxcar) in hopes someone would saunter by and give us the lowdown. But alas, we drove off slightly disappointed. The building is of Victorian design, having been built in 1888 by the Memphis/Charleston Railroad. There's supposed to be some very cool hands-on interactive stuff inside. Perhaps when I return I'll be able to write more. read more

Tuscumbia Railways - Tuscumbia Rail Station - Tuscumbia, Alabama

We were in the area and happened to drive by this beautiful building and saw that it was an old Railway station, from 1888. We drove around the corner so I could take pictures. I got home and found out that it is actually a museum. I found online that it is open Tues.-Fri. from 9 am - 4pm, Sat. 10 am - 3 pm. Looking forward to a visit the next time we are in Tuscumbia. read more
