She motivated my boy very well and developed an excellent rapport with him. The tutoring was tailored to suit his individual needs and was at a very suitable pace for him. Homework that was set added to the overall effectiveness. His practice test ACT scores steadily improved as time went on. I am sure that his final score was much better than it would have been without the tutoring. The college preparation went extremely well, from help in identifying suitable colleges to the actual application process. She gave outstanding advice in crafting a great set of college essays, while being scrupulous in ensuring it was his voice that shone through. He followed up every session with a detailed evaluation, which he sent the next day. Our son received an 800 on the math section, and 690 on the verbal. And, most important, he was admitted, early decision, to the college he most wanted to attend. The standardized testing regime is awful, biased, and a rip off. But, until it withers and dies off, places like Competitive Edge Tutoring are very helpful in getting through it.
