I would highly recommend that you do not patronize Tuxedo Inn or Flowers by Rita for any of your needs. I was picking up my suit for a wedding yesterday at Tuxedo Inn. The entire process was horrible for not only myself, but for the groom, the other groomsman, as well as other customers there picking up their tux while I was picking up mine. Management (Rita & Ted) could not handle the disfunction that they had caused. They were having words with one another in front of customers. While I was checking out, I was vocal about my dissatisfaction with the service and the communication that did not take place in a respectful manner. Initially, I was very particular about the way I expressed my unhappiness. Mrs. Rita was loud with me from the start and told me that they had been in business for 50+ years and they were not going anywhere. I responded by saying if they continued such business practices that they would not continue to be in business. She responded by asking me, " What you smoke ?! loudly. I asked her the same thing assertively. I guess my two strand twists and being black made her feel some type of way. While completing the transactions, there was KAREN in the back saying that I needed to leave before she called the police because her kids were in the store. While leaving we have words. After leaving I called the groom to tell him about the situation. He told me to make sure that I had my vest in the bag because everyone else's was left. Of course, my vest was not in the bag. I turned around and headed back to the store. I stood in the back of the store and waited to receive service. Mrs. Rita was at it again with me. I told her that my vest was left out. She proceeded to get loud with me and say that it was in the bag. I told her once again that it was not and reiterated the unprofessionalism and their disorganization. She then says the groom picked up everyone's vest. This was not true because she left out his vest too. She continues to get loud and says that they had to add the vest at the last minute because we did not order vest. This was also not true. I was fitted for a vest and it was part of the Tux Rental . She ended up realizing that she gave everyone vest to the other groomsman. I told her not to charge me for a vest if one is not returned because one was not given to me. She asks me if I wanted a refund and I gladly accepted. I went and got the Tux and put everything on the counter. I take my card out and she tried to snatch it. I say. " Ma'am, do not snatch from me." She snatches it anyway. I reach to take my card back and reiterate do not snatch from me. Ted then acts like he is recording me. Rita tells them to call the police and she's pressing charges. I DID NOT TOUCH THIS WOMAN. I asked the her to complete the transaction so I can leave. After processing my card, she puts my card on the table and I reach for it and pick it up. She says that she is not done with the transaction. I put the card back on the counter and asks for her to complete the transaction so that I can leave. Ted is calling the police franticly saying they have a customer in the store going crazy and they needed to come quick. This was far from the truth. She hands me the card and I ask her to just sit it on the counter for me to pick up. I leave out the store and drive in the parking lot trying to decide what I needed to do. I didn't want anyone to think I was running. With everything that is going on in our community with police and KARENS, I did not want to put myself in a situation being myself and no one could honestly tell my side of the story. I call Kayla to let her know what was going on and called a lawyer using LegalShield. I drove down the street while waiting on the lawyer to come on the line. Kayla goes to he store, which I did not recommend. She goes to see what they are saying in the store about what occurred. They are saying I threatened the store and to destroy the suit. They also say they were scared for their lives. -___- . Kayla asks for Ted and Rita's name. She lets them know who she is and they tell her the police just left. KAREN is now approaching her and tells her to leave. KAREN now has called the police on her. I finally get the lawyer on the phone. He was really no help. I decide to go back to the store while the police were still there. I felt it was in my best interest for them to hear my side of the story. I let the police know who I was. Before I could tell them my side of the story, the say that there is nothing they can do about the situation. They were still there just to chat amongst one another. They say that the New Management at Tuxedo Inn are bad about overreacting and calling the police about nothing. I explain to them my concerns and the seriousness of calling the police for a nonemergency and leave to find another Tux on such short notice. Anyone who knows me or who has crossed my path, can tell what kind of person I am. I have never been in any kind of trouble before let alone have someone call the police on me. I have had weddings to attend the last 2 November's and the groom chose to use tuxedo inn on both occasions they take care of everything and we have had no issues with them at all! So this year I get on here to leave a review and see a horrible review from a customer from last year when I was in another wedding I was picking up my tux the day the incident happened and did not see much of what wrote about in the review I saw the customers children in they back scared while the customer was demanding money back lunging over the counter and acting uncivilized just remember there are 2 sides to every story Tuxedo Inn was nothing but professional and helpful I would highly recommend them! read more

This is THE place in Gadsden for gentlemen to rent or purchase tuxedos and other formalwear. Bobby Kintz has owned this for a long time and he's the best - he has a very capable and friendly staff there to support him. We came in to buy a tux for a formal event, and the whole process was complete in less than a half-hour - Tuxedo Inn had everything we needed in stock, in the right sizes and made the process so simple. Now that we've bought the tux, we don't need to go back - which is sad, because they're so friendly and sweet. BUT - I'm happy to refer ALL of my Gadsden friends with formalwear rental or purchase needs to Tuxedo Inn. read more
