Pro tip: make sure to tell the bartender when you're ready to order--it's part of the charm and keeps things moving smoothly. We were seated next to some Midwest locals who were beyond friendly, striking up conversation and making us feel instantly welcome. That kind of atmosphere is hard to find and really made the night. The food was outstanding for the price--honestly about one-third the cost of what you'd pay in a big city, and just as good (if not better). Friendly people. Nothing fancy. Let bartender know you want food and they give you a number. Server then comes by to take your order and you wait to be seated. And wait you will. The dining room has maybe 10 tables. Salad bar was good and fresh. Stuffed tenderloin was a hit and the breaded shrimp were great and you get a LOT. Try the Old Fashioned flight, it's good! Would give it a minus 10. The salid bar was good that Good cause the food is just horrid. I ordered perch, market price so expensive, my husband ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. Not sure what fish I got certainly was not perch, pretty sure tilapia rolled in panko. Just bad, no flavor of fish at all, left most of it could not eat what ever this was. My husband stated the spaghetti was terrible with no flavor he hardly ate any. There is all tourists there no locals, that should tell you something. It is now July 2024. We stopped - actually rushed to get here early on a Friday because we were told they could sell out for fish fry. Wished we came much later and they had. We were the first ones in the dining area. Wife ordered steak and said it was good. I ordered the deep fried haddock and it sucked. Tastes like old cardboard. Two other couples came in right after us. One coupled ordered baked and fried haddock and both said it tasted like it had been frozen way too long. Other couple ordered perch and spaghetti. Both left with hardly touching their plates. Said on the way out they would eat dinner at home. This place went down the toilet. Bar is fine, just eat elsewhere. Extremely disappointed. read more

Great, friendly, quick service, hand sanitizer at the salad bar, flaky/light all-you-can-eat perch (Friday night), and one of the best old fashioneds I've ever had (actually....I had two). First time here tonight. Awesome supper club vibe. Came in about 730 ish and it was nice and busy, but not a long wait at all. Say at the bar for about 15 min or so before our table was ready. Like other supper clubs you order at the bar before being seated. Once we got into the dining room we had the soup and salad bar with a couple of nice warm rolls. Thousand island - on point. They had these "pine cones" for appetizers which was mashed potato breaded and fried with nacho cheese on the side. It was like a fat French fry. So weird but so good. Dinner - I got the prime rib and twice baked potato (just herbs no meat cheese or onions) which is perfect!! Prime rib was juicy and perfectly cooked. My husband got the tenderloin fettuccini Alfredo. He ate every bite, absolutely loved it. Afterwards we went back into the bar and had some delicious recommended after dinner drinks and some nice conversation with the bar tender megan! Highly recommend! This is a lunch stop for our weekend Up North each year. The sandwiches and fries are cooked to order. This is a very typical bar in Northern Wisconsin. The food has always been good. My friend ordered their Mexican luncheon and was overwhelmed by the amount of food! Lots of choices! My wife and I rented a cabin for a 3 day weekend and we really enjoyed getting away to the cool, quiet, country. The cabin is fully equipped with kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, living rooms (with TV if you need that) and a deck with a BBQ grill. And quiet. And the lodge has a full bar and restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. read more
