I was amazed how quick the service was there. I called before arriving to see if they took walk-in's because I was visiting the area. No salons are open on Mondays in the town where I'm from. I was very pleased with my cut. She took her time with me and we shared conversations about healthy hair. She was very knowledgeable about hair and I am a black woman. I have never had a white woman to cut my hair before and let's just say I would go back there in a heart beat if I was closer. Two thumbs up for this Salon. read more

Trisha is amazing. I had this horrible black box dye on my hair. With only one application of color remover she was able to get it all out, and my hair looked so healthy and shiny. It looked exactly like my original hair color. She did exactly what I wanted. Not to mention, she's the sweetest, she explained to me the whole process and told me how to take care of my hair after going through bleaching. She gives great customer service. I will be back soon! I called first thing in the morning and was told to arrive for my appointment at 1130 with Gloria! I waited over 30 minutes and let a gentleman go ahead of me since his appointment was at noon. Gloria did a wonderful shampoo, so relaxing then proceeded to cut my hair. After the shampoo I did not care what she did it was relaxing and worth it. Gloria did give me the cut I needed and it is perfect. I will go back to her for another trim in the future. read more

It's difficult to leave any review here, it was a little disappointing, driving more than an hour to be told that our stylist was unable to show up. I booked a 10:30 am appointment ( my stylist is Gloria) went on time and she is doing highlights on a woman and her husband or partner then gets in the chair for his haircut. I feel sorry for Gloria. she is excellent but must be low woman on the totem pole and has to take walk ins. this is my assumption. I will not return. I didnt schedule a time to wait 1/2 hour or more. read more

I called Twisted Sisters in a hair crisis today. I've been having a hard time and I tried to start a hobby to get my mind off things. My mom gave me her old sewing machine. Instead of getting my mind off things, the sewing machine got my hair off my mind. Trish fit me in same day, immediately, and made me not want to ball my eyes out. She also fixed my hair, made it gorgeous, and I love it. (Which coming from someone who did not let anyone touch their lower back length hair for years and wanted to grow it more is without words on how amazing she is). Trish and Twisted Sisters are the best in town. Especially from those who have the misfortune I did of using a possessed hair eating sewing machine. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at a salon. I sat in the waiting area for over 15 minutes before anyone ever acknowledged me..and once I was noticed it was a search to find someone to cut my hair. The stylist literally shaved my whole head, the picture I showed her I asked her twice was she sure she could do it and she assured me she could. Needless to say with what little hair I had left I had to leave from there and go somewhere else to get it fixed!!!! It's going to takes months for my hair to grow back. I have lived in North Carolina for 11 years and (until now!) had never found a salon or stylist that I really loved. In fact, I've had several major disappointments throughout the years. This week I made an appointment with Emily for a balayage and a long-overdue cut. I showed her the colors I was going for (ashy-dark and silver), which previous stylists were unable to attain. Because I had been disappointed in the past, my expectations were pretty low. Emily was not only able to achieve exactly what I originally wanted, she did it in 1/3 of the time it took the previous stylist, and charged only half as much. I called this hair salon 3 times within the past hour and they couldn't even pick up the phone. I have been to this salon many times before and have been through several of the stylists. My favorite has been Gloria because she always listens to what I want and she excels when styling my hair that way. When it comes to trying to make an appointment though it is almost impossible to get someone on the phone. Walking in is not a good idea either because most of the stylists have certain days and hours they work. It is never the same every week. I recommend setting up appointments while you are already there during an appointment. Otherwise expect to try to contact them all week until someone decides to pick up. read more

Not a happy client. I went in for a root touch up and cut. I had sun blond color in and walked out with fried chicken liver brown. My cut by Gloria was really good exactly what I wanted. The other stylist and I am sorry for not remembering her name but she was trying so hard to fix it as much as she could. I do want to say these ladies wanted to fix my problem and did everything they could at the time to fix it but my scalp just couldn't take anymore. Called and booked an appointment for the next day, for an event I needed my hair simply blown out for. Was even texted and confirmed for 1:30 and when I showed up to my appointment they didn't have time for me and told me they would not be done and ready for half an hour after my booked appointment. They said they would still be able to get me done by 2:30 and that was clearly not the case because the women who was going to blow out my hair didn't finish the girl before me until 3. lucky, one of the hairdressers who already had a client blew my hair out as the other client's processed. I am very sad because I was excited to try after reading good reviews but will not come back because of this unprofessional behavior. Disappointing read more

I've been using Jackie & Sam as my stylists for close to 10 years now, first at Ulta, then Studio Pink and finally at Twisted Sisters Salon, and they even colored my hair for my wedding in 2008 which came out amazing like it does every time they do my hair. It was by chance that I had my hair done while visiting a friend & her mother in NC in 2007. Unfortunately, my friend moved and her mother passed away but that doesn't stop me from going down south a couple times a year to get my hair done. Some may think I'm crazy, but I travel 8 hours (One way) in order to get my hair done by these lovely ladies. When my husband tells his friends I'm going to NC to get my hair done, they look at him like he's crazy and have to ask him if they heard him right. One thing you may not know about Jackie (not sure about Sam) she was the top colorist for Redkin in the district for a number of years. She can look at someone's hair and know right off the bat what colors will achieve the client's ultimate look. Believe it or not, it is cheaper for me to drive from Jersey to NC, stay in a hotel, get my hair done and drive back than it is for me to stay in Jersey and have a local stylist do my hair. For the work I get done (highlights, low lights, in between color, chemistry shot, cut, blow dry, curl & a couple strands of pink) the price is AMAZING, In Jersey, they would charge me approximately $400 (If I'm lucky. No joke). I'm not going to tell you what I pay at Twisted Sister Salon because I don't know if I get a special discount for traveling so far, but trust me, the travel is so worth it. For some reason, the stylists I happen to hook up with in Jersey would screw up a wet dream. They have burned my hair, fried my hair, melted my hair, given me the wrong color, cut it too short, uneven. Yeah, I'm good. I'll stick to taking my quarterly trips to NC because the ONLY one's I trust to do my hair the way I like it is Jackie & Sam. Trust me when I tell you, you will not be disappointed if you use them. And by the way, they did not ask me to post this review, nor am I paid by them in any way. These girls are awesome at what they do. read more
