I've been going to Twisted for eight months now, so my old review is due for an update! Ok, so I was kind of a chunky beer slob when I first moved here. My mom started taking me to barre and yoga with Jackie, and I am seriously a new person. Actually, I'm about 20 pounds less of a person.
My mom describes barre as "ballet on steroids," and that is a very good thing, my friends! Not to toot my own horn too much, but (comparatively, anyway), I look hot. I'm no spring chicken, but some 20-year-old guy whistled at me the other day. That's how good Jackie is at her job.
I have a lot of old sports injuries and my ankles are utterly destroyed. I've had to cut back on running big time and there's not a lot I can do without limping for the next week or so. This has been bumming me out for years, but barre and yoga are both low impact enough that I can go 4 times a week without feeling any extra pain. Don't get me wrong though, these classes are HARD. Like, thigh-shaking, gasping for breath, I can't walk the next day difficult. Still, they're amazing! I feel so strong and good about myself, and Twisted is a really friendly and nice place to work out. I love it, and you should check it out asap! read more
