When looking for a Newborn Photographer I wasn't sure what I needed from one besides great pictures…read moreobviously. In our personal journey our baby came early and had to spend a little extra time in the hospital in the NICU. Knowing most people get photos done when their full-term babies are one to two weeks old I knew our schedule would be totally off, but I wondered if it was ever gonna be safe to get some done in time with such a tiny tiny baby still after discharged. We were blessed to find Mariela, who not only is a fabulous photographer, but close to our home, very skilled working with tiny babies/history of NICU experience, and a mother herself - - she had a very soothing warm presence. She wore a mask during our whole session working with our baby, handled baby with gentle care, and made everything look so effortless. She allotted a generous amount of time for taking photos as well as time to feed then change baby's diaper. She was receptive to our design and color scheme, ideas, and also offered her own creativity of what she thought would be suited for our baby based on nursery photos we sent her so she could understand our family's vibe better. And she nailed it! Every photo was so beautiful, choosing was impossible. I absolutely loved working with Mariela from the initial phone conversation just getting to know her, to actual photo shoot day, when deciding to work with her, and, of course, through choosing our gallery which she offered to guide us through as well and receiving the final products.
