Terrible moving experience. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Very poor work ethic. Caught them standing around doing nothing multiple times. 2 of the "movers" watched the third mover do everything. The "movers" lost parts to multiple beds. They didn't know how to disassemble beds. The completely broke a 65" TV. They left the power cords to the TVs at the old house. They complained multiple times about having to fill up their truck (which is their job and what they are paid to do). read more

The movers were polite, but that didn't make up for the heartbreak of them breaking my $800 lamp--an item with both financial and sentimental value. Damaged a 700 dollar chair (tore off front legs in a way it can't be fixed) and reduced it to unusable due to poor truck packing and bad driving. Scratched up a thousand dollar bed with dark wood finish with serious gashes all over the foot of the bed and headboard -- the parts actually visible. Made me pay for a 75 dollar movers insurance, no one from the claims department called, or filed anything. So I wasted the money I paid for the insurance. Will not use them again, this was the last time. This was truly a GHETTO style move with a 1.5K price tag. It is interesting how Houston always find a way to make someone feel like dirt even when we try to be nice and calm and accepting and patient. Don't use this service if you have valuables or anything nice to move. If you have a bunch of black garbage bags to move though, this is the service to use..... You catch my drift. read more

Somebody gave me an initial quote for $1500 to 1900 to move out of a 1 bed/study apartment to an address 10 minutes away. After I said the price was too high, said person came back with $1300-$1600, holding the same time estimate of 6-8 hours!!! I could move by myself in 6-8 hours with a U-Haul. Please note that time did not include packing nor unpacking. I've used this company before for a move from NW Houston and knew they were expensive, but that pricing for a small move was, in no way a competitive market price. I ended up going with a different company. Save your money - plenty of other good companies with work crews who will do the same job for less. read more

I have never had poorer customer service than from any company. I questioned 2 items on the final bill (I questioned the hours- think they padded some & questioned that I ordered & didn't get boxes (huge hassle as I couldn't pack up the last of my stuff & had to borrow a friend's truck to deal with it). So I questioned the bill and basically the response was "you're stupid ". I can't believe that the franchisee (Tom Murray) would speak to a customer like that. I have used this company for 4 times in many years. I won't use it again. I was insulted for asking a question. I will say that the movers did an acceptable job. Nope. Not too fond of these guys. I wish it could be a big fat ZERO! I looked online for a moving company and before I could even get off the page, my phone was ringing. The guy on the phone (I forgot his name, I was so frustrated!) was a fast talker. Once I told him I was an old lady, he laid in it on thick. I explained that I was moving a 1-bd apartment across the parking lot in the same complex, roughly 500 ft. First he said it was $100 hr with a 2 hours minimum for 2 men and that anything after that would be $25 hr. Then he said, in the same conversations that it would be a 3 hour minimum. When they sent me the quote in my email, it said 3.5 hr minimum! This came to almost $400!! To move across the parking lot??? A job that will take no more than an hour??? And when I told them that I did not want to deal with them because I was disappointed, he had the nerve to get an attitude and get defensive, like he didn't just try to swindle me out of more money than the job was worth. I have since found another refutable company with a better price. I wouldn't touch them with YOUR ten-foot pole! read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE We had a move scheduled for a Saturday, to start between 1-5 pm. By 4pm, we hadn't heard anything and decided to call. We were assured they would arrive by 5pm. 5pm passed and we called to find the office closed. We found them via facebook messenger and eventually they showed up at 8pm. So after all the stress and waiting, they show up with a busted ramp and no tools. They did 1/2 the move and wrappe dup at 10:30pm. We agreed on a 1pm sharp start on Sunday to complete the move. They didn't show until 5pm. We had a second move scheduled for my mother-in law that Monday. I refused to pay for our move until they actually showed up. They did agree to a massive discount, but even the move for my mother in law was slow and not impressive. I HIGHLY ADVISE YOU NOT USE THIS COMPANY...unless you like terrible experiences, then go right ahead. read more

I will NEVER use OR recommend this company to ANYONE. They low balled me a quote. It took 3 guys almost 5 HOURS to move a 1 bedroom apartment with all of the furniture taken apart prior to their arrival and less than 20 boxes. It may not have taken them that long if they weren't hitting on me and asking me where my boyfriend is and why I don't have one every 5 minutes. Speaking of hitting on me, they told me there wasn't room for me to ride in the truck with them but I could SIT ON THEIR LAPS. They repeated that line 3 times to make sure I knew sitting on their laps was an option. Being a woman BY MYSELF with 2 of the grown men hitting on me, made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I left a few things at my old apartment and one of the mover's insinuated that because I was leaving a few pairs of men's shoes behind, that he wanted to take them. The first thing one of the mover's did when we arrived to my new place was have a BOWEL MOVEMENT in my brand new bathroom, making my entire apartment smell terribly. They nicked and scuffed the walls in my apartment. One of them told my friend that she must have been smoking "good weed" before she came over because she coughed. One of the movers also told me if they wouldn't have had to do a move prior to mine, it would have gotten done more efficiently because they wouldn't have been as tired. I'm not sure why that should have affected their job with MY move. As I was unpacking everything, a lot of my things (especially my clothes) smelled like cigarette smoke. I don't smoke and don't allow anyone to smoke cigarettes in my house, so someone was smoking in the truck. On top of all of this, I called to complain and a woman told me that she was extremely sorry and would have the GM call me right away. It's been over a week, and I have yet to receive a call, but they made sure to charge my credit card for their "service". DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! UPDATE: I just called AGAIN. I spoke to the manager, Chris. He told he gave me a discount on the price (which was very minuscule considering the amount I paid). He also told me he spoke to the guys and they said none of that happened besides the one using the restroom; therefore, there's basically nothing he can do besides hope it doesn't happen to anyone else and that he's sorry, but the next time I decide to move "I guess, just don't use our company." Unfortunately I can't put 10 Negative Stars, so I'm posting 1 Star to post my horrible experience Saturday with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK MOVING COMPANY on Sat, June 30, 2018. Moving shouldn't be a traumatic event! Thanks to the trouble I had with these horrible, destructive, fake movers is wrong and they should be thrown in jail for pretending to be movers!! My moving experience with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK MOVING COMPANY began when three men came into my apartment, and started sorting boxes that I had stacked right in front to prevent wasted time and then refusing to load a small U-Haul box from laundry room with detergent, rinse bottles (placed in a plastic bag, inside a box), because it might spill. Frustrated already within minutes of arriving, I jokingly said, "I'm sorry that I didn't hire another mover." To which they replied, "It wasn't too late." Hindsight, I wish I had fired them immediately, but then I would have been stuck without movers. I'm a single woman, and I no one to help me move and had to be out today so didn't have many options. In an effort to keep this brief, here is my Reader's Digest version.....DON'T USE TWO MEN AND A TRUCK MOVING COMPANY they are the most horrible, destructive, fake movers I have ever met!!!! Hired to move all contents of my 1-Bedroom apartment, which included bed, dresser, loveseat, chair, dining table and chairs plus contents from my current apartment to the new apartment, just 5 minutes away, which should have taken 4 hours total. After 3 1/2 hours, had only loaded the furniture and no contents into their truck by 2 guys since the 3rd guy stayed in the truck packing. They could have placed all my furniture and contents flat inside the truck and wouldn't have run out of room inside the truck. They failed to complete the job they were hired for, therefore I had to hire another crew to move my apartment contents the next day, since they failed to do their job. They didn't even know how to park their truck, since it took them 30 minutes to park it and still couldn't get the loading ramp extended, which I was charged for. Instead of grabbing boxes and loading onto dolly, they were picking and choosing which boxes they would load, which doubled their loading time and increased my cost. They dropped and damaged my leather loveseat sofa, scratched the leather by pushing it through the door the wrong way, broke off boards from my bedspring mattress, scratched my new wood dining room table and never said a word about any of the damage!! Plus when the manager called because I was upset and told movers to unload everything at new place and leave the boxes at the bottom of the stairs, the manager yelled at me over the phone. Wow!! Thanks to the trouble I had with these horrible, destructive, fake movers and their manager I had to move boxes myself, which hurt my back and since I was moving because I was sick, caused me to lose my new job!! This company should be thrown in jail for pretending to be movers!! TWO MEN AND A TRUCK MOVING COMPANY failed to do their job. This is not my first move, nor will it be my last......But I will NEVER use them AGAIN!! They were dishonest, slow and careless with my belongings. I would leave a negative 5 rating if I could. They scratched and gouged my furniture, and dragged pieces by their feet, shredding upholstery, the corner of my box spring and the corners of several pieces of furniture. They dropped my microwave, doing substantial damage. They hid outside until I went looking for them many times. They did not pay attention to which room was clearly written on each box and just dumped them anywhere. They turned many boxes upside down, even ones marked "FRAGILE". They destroyed two shoe racks. They packed some things I had told them not to. They kept interrupting my helper with questions they should have been asking me. Just after arriving at the new address, one of them demanded my helper drop what she was doing and find some soap so he could wash his hands. It sure wasn't because he wanted to keep my upholstery clean, since they laid the pieces on their backs in the dirt outside. To top it off, after I signed the bill, he took it upon himself to add a tip on the credit card, being careful so I would not see it. I reached out to the office and explained my concerns and the reasons why I was underwhelmed. They did reach out to the manager and discuss the concerns. I did not get reassurance that protocols and training would be improved and was provided 5% off my next move. I don't feel I will bring my business back at least using the moving services from the galleria location. read more

If I could give no stars I would. This was a terrible experience for me. There was significant damage to my house and belongings and I was only compensated for a fraction of the cost I incurred to fix. I do not recommend using this company at all. read more

Absolute terrible experience with this company. I'll share what I just sent in to the franchise headquarters: I recently had Two Men and a Truck move me from my old apartment to my new apartment. The move was on 3/10/2017. I had an absolutely terrible experience. The two movers showed up at 9 AM to pack my two bedroom apartment and move it a mile down the street. They began packing the house and after (4) hours or 1:00 PM, they decided to move me to the actual moving rate. They had me sign a paper and then moved onto packing more. The house was hardly packed at the time of me signing the paper. I thought they were pre-authorizing my credit card for the move, not changing the rate. It was not explained to me -- basically "I forgot to pre-authorize you and you need to sign here." About 9 hours later, or 10:00 PM they were completely loaded up. Again, two bedroom apartment and 13 hours into the move, we're finally all loaded up. We get over to the new place, a mile down the road, and they begin unpacking. At about unloading, or 2 hours into the unloading, the guy comes to tell me the helper has injured himself and is en-route to the hospital and he was going to be doing this alone. He then asked if we could help with the big items. So, me and three of my friends go down and help him unload the truck and bring in ALL of the large furniture. Almost immediately after all of the big items (beds, mattresses, couch, loveseat, tables, etc.) was put in the apartment, I notice the "injured worker" get out of a car parked at the corner of the street and wobble over. He says he's sorry he couldn't help he was just give out. So then he helps bring in the boxes, total of 41 boxes, I counted (which I paid for 50) and then they leave at 3:45 AM. 19 hours. Bill over $2000.00 Here's the good stuff -- I moved this exact move from Lufkin to Houston back in October 2016. The guys came to my house in Lufkin at 8 AM, packed every bit of the things these guys had to, loaded it all up, and moved me to Lufkin. By 8 PM that night, they had it all unloaded and was out of the house. 12 hours total, with 2.5 being drive-time between Lufkin and Houston. Now, this move with Two Men and a Truck, took 19 hours and I HAD TO HELP THEM UNLOAD. If I wanted to move the heavy things, I would have just done this myself. Now, my last move was just under $1500.00. Again, from Lufkin to Houston Texas. This move, from Milam Street to Cleveland Street (less than 1 mile) was over $2000.00. And, I had to help them unload the truck. Here's some of the notes I took while observing the movers the day they were working: - Didn't complete in a timely manner. - complained about personal life, - listened to loud, inappropriate rap music, - left dishes in dish washer, that I had to wrap and then pack, - had to help bring some little things they didn't pack in my own truck, - didn't have enough boxes, used 41 but ordered 50, - one guy keeps disappearing for long periods, - complained about how heavy things are and how tired he is, - it's 1:20 AM and one guy "I hurt my leg and can't help anymore" - wanted to stop the job altogether because he's hungry. I had a terrible experience with this company. One of the movers was really good while the other was lazy. Because only one of the guys worked hard, it took them nearly 8 hours to move a one-bedroom apartment. My new apartment was only 2 min away. I ended up paying $1,100 for this move, totally not worth it. I regret hiring this company. Last time I moved I paid $500, these guys charged me more than double and it wasn't a long distance move (literally 1 block away). I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and I will never use them again. They charge a high per/hour rate but then also work very slow so it's a double whammy. read more

They called me back and said they would not look into the matter any further because each location is individually owned and they handle their own issues. What a complete waste of time. read more

I screwed up by not reading reviews prior clearly! Had the same experience as others. Unprofessional, lazy, complainers work for this company and they happily charge you and take their sweet time. Late arrival due to driver "lost" because I have such a difficult address to find, and it had to have been his navigation system. Unprofessional when completing paperwork. Complained the entire time about the "old lady who owns the company" who doesn't provide them with updated methods to take payment and "only comes to town once a month to check in". We all have issues with our employer but it's unprofessional to speak this way to your customers. The driver also received a "splinter" from taking a part my bed, even after I offered to take it apart myself Him and his crew member took almost a half hour sitting on the floor attempting to take a part and then took 15 min to remove said splinter because he just couldn't go on with it in his hand. Complained out loud overly about my mattress. King size mattress, going down one flight of stairs is a task, I moved it in I know! But two grown men who's career is moving... I didn't expect such whining. Multiple times I noticed them taking breaks on their cellphone. It cost me over $450 for over three hours for them to move one king size bed. One dresser. One bookshelf. 2 paintings. A nightstand. A taken apart table. 4 chairs and about 10 boxes. Yes that's right I only moved MY BEDROOM to a storage facility. Do yourself a favor and give your money to someone else more professional and to a company who cares more to vet their employees before hire. read more

I had a great experience using TMAT 6 months ago so I booked them again for my move today. They are independently owned and I did not realize I booked with a different location than the one I used before. Between college and new jobs I've hired professionals to move my stuff 3-4 times all across the city. Even on my worst move which involved three separate stops it's never taken much more than 4 hours to move. I was moving even fewer items this time because a lot of my stuff is still in storage so I assumed it would probably take 3-4 hours max. It took 7 hours to move my one bedroom apartment 20 minutes down the road. My old place was on the first floor and the new place was on the third, but it had direct access to a frieght elevator which was only being used by one other mover. It took over 2.5 hours just to wrap everything up! They assured me that the unloading would go by much more quicker, it it took nearly 4.5 hours to make the 20 minute drive and unload the truck. When we finally got to the new location, it was taking so long to unload I told them to just drop the stuff at the front door and I'd unwrap it myself while they brought up the next load. I called halfway through the move to complain, but the GM never called me back. I was only charged for 5 hours, but at $135/Hour this is by far the most expensive move I've ever done, even though I moved fewer items a shorter distance, reassembled everything myself, and helped unwrap the furniture to cut time. The movers were personable, but they were turtle slow compared to the guys I've used in the past, and it seemed like they took as few items up at a time as they could. They showed up at 9:30am and later they told me I was the only move of the day. I guess that's why they took their time. I've had great experiences with TMAT before, but STAY AWAY from this location! read more

Made moving easy! Got a call the hour before to let me know the time they were expecting to arrive. When they still hadn't shown up, they called informing me that their truck broke down and they had to get a new one. Even with this delay, they still arrived within the time frame I requested. Everything was packed up, transported 40 min away, and unpacked for a one bedroom apartment in just over 2 hours! We expected almost twice that. The movers were courteous and careful with my stuff, wrapping furniture in plastic and moving blankets. The entire process was extremely easy. read more

Regarding Two Men and a Truck - Galleria: Worst moving experience of our lives! We were moving our elderly mom, recently diagnosed with dementia, from the assisted living to memory care unit of her senior care facility. The movers called at 1:30pm to tell us they would arrive between 2:30 and 3pm, so we went to our mom's apartment to prepare her for the move and introduce her to the sitter we'd scheduled to stay with her during the transition. By 3:30pm, no movers had arrived, so we called and were told the previous job was taking longer than expected and that they would arrive "soon." After many calls (on our part, not theirs), "soon" finally came... SIX hours later! By then, my husband and I had moved most of mom's belongings to her new room by ourselves. All that was left for the movers to do was to transport the items that we couldn't fit in her new room to our home - that took about 1.5 hours, meaning that they finally left our house after 10:30pm. The results of this epic fail on the part of Two Men and a Truck - Galleria? Two adults who have health issues (thus the need for help from a moving company) spent their day moving their mom's belongings, without the benefit of proper equipment or anything to eat. But, even worse, a confused and frightened woman suffering from dementia was displaced for SIX hours from what feels safe and familiar to her. A company that professes to provide great customer service did not do so, and conversations with supervisors did not improve the situation. I will be posting this review to every outlet available to me so that others can make an informed decision when deciding on a moving company. This is not the company for you. read more
