Showed up three hours late with a thin excuse that they'd called to say they were coming and were told they weren't needed. I don't know who they called, but it wasn't us. We hired them specifically to pack the remaining stuff in my daughter's house into boxes, since we were moving them ourselves. They showed up woefully unprepared, with only 3 cubes and 1.5 boxes. Before they'd been there 10 minutes, one of the guys was arguing with my wife that they didn't have boxes big enough to pack all of the things that had been discussed in the walk-thru the day before--a toaster oven, a microwave, a TV, some pictures, etc.--and told her, "We just use blankets when we load those on the truck." When she explained that they wouldn't be loading the truck and the stuff needed to be boxed to go into storage, he grudgingly telescoped two 3 cubes together and put the microwave into that, but loose, with no packing whatsoever to cushion it and hold it in place. Same for the toaster oven. A crew of three only managed to pack 15 boxes in an hour, before they finally agreed to go out and get more boxes. All three left to do that. We took a look at the boxes they'd packed, and discovered they were inadequately taped and that they rattled, as if no packing material had been used to cushion the contents. We opened one and found that to be the case, plus the box wasn't even close to full. If we would have tried to stack it in the storage unit, it would have quickly collapsed. So we opened the rest of the boxes and none of them were full and only two had anything wrapped--and then only a few items. One, with a pair of computer monitors, also had a partially filled trash bag in it. It got worse when the crew got back after about half an hour. I tried to have a conversation with them about what we actually needed done, and the guy who appeared to be the crew leader got angry and defensive, and instead of listening, started repeating his earlier comments about using blankets, stating that he'd been doing this work for ten years, and insisting he'd never used (or even seen) the kind of TV and picture boxes that they'd picked up, presumably at the U-Haul store four minutes away from the house. I tried to explain again that we were moving my daughter to Colorado to stay with us while she gets cancer treatment, and he said, "That's not on us." My daughter had heard enough, came to the door, addressed him as "sir," told him he was being disrespectful to her family, said that their services no longer were needed and that she wanted him and the others out of her house. So he started arguing with HER. The others apparently got the message, started gathering up their stuff and they all left. My wife and I have moved ten times over the past 35 years, first while working for the government, and later in higher ed. We've used movers every time, including Two Men and a Truck in other cities. This was the worst experience we've ever had. The lack of professionalism and the quality of the work was horrible. We took a few photos to document it. In the end, we bought some larger boxes, unpacked all of the ones they'd done, and condensed the contents of the 15 they packed into five boxes, with the everything wrapped in paper and cushioned. Then we finished the rest of the job ourselves. I suspect our experience was an anomaly--in general, Two Men and a Truck enjoy a great reputation, and do good work. But not this time. The only positive part of the experience was a guy who appeared to be the youngest on the crew: he knew what he was doing (my wife saw him wrapping what turned out to be the only items protected that way) and he was both apologetic and gracious as they were leaving. For the most part the move went well, the 3 guys were respectful and pleasant. However they did have problems with moving an average size desk which when first delivered to our home they had no problem getting it into the house. It took 2 Men and a Truck about one hour to move it out if the house and I had to sign a waiver of damage liability for it. Also when they set up one of the beds in the new home they chipped the wall because they put thevheadboard right up against the wall instead of leaving a little space, common sense would tell you not to do that. If we move again may check around for another moving company. read more

We hired Two Men and a Truck Sioux Falls to move us from our 5 bedroom home where we have lived for 48 years, to our 3 bedroom, 2 bath, retirement apartment. Communication with the office was amazing. On Monday morning, the day of our move, someone texted us that they were on their way and when they should arrive. When they arrived, 4 gentlemen and a big truck pulled up. We had previously notified them of the contents of the house that would need moved, including a large gun safe, that would be going to a different location, in between our home and the apartment. Upon arrival, the four polite gentlemen introduced themselves, Noah, Tristan, Luis, and Zander. They asked if we could give them a walkthrough of the house to get a "lay of the land" and I could tell they were already formulating a plan. They went through every room and assessed things. We also had things that were going into a storage unit, so asked that they kept those separate, which they did. Once they devised a plan lead by Noah, they started loading and didn't stop. These guys WORKED! And they were so kind, and patient with us. We have a lot of antique furniture and some of it needed to be taken apart and they carefully did that, and wrapped it in blankets and shrink wrap. We bought them lunch from Jimmy Johns, and then, they decided it was time to load the Gun safe. This thing is a BEAST.... I couldn't watch... They got it down the large staircase and right into that truck! Then delivered it to our friends house and down his stairs too! Then they arrived at the apartment and started hauling things in... And then they started putting things together, beds, tables, antique furniture... they brought my grandmother's china hutch in, which is 100+ years old.... it looked like the front glass was broken. Upon , further inspection, one of the beveled glass pieces had fallen out and somehow, didn't break!! We couldn't figure out how to put the piece of glass in, But somehow, Noah did, and it didn't break!!! Do not use these movers!!! Two weeks ago their two men put a 2 foot dent in my wood floor. When we brought it to their attention, they investigated and said their insurance company won't pay but we can give you a $150 customer satisfaction award. Called yesterday at 8 am to request their service for unloading and moving furniture and essentially a whole house. They didn't answer the phone so we left a voicemail asking to get back to us as soon as possible to help us. They didn't return our call all day, and still haven't!! Talk about people without decency. Next time we need moving needs, and we will within the next year, we will NOT use you unless changes are made. A complete lack of customer service. read more

recovering from cancer surgery, I needed help moving. Their 4 men took longer than my brother and I took to move my stuff previously.. the truck had roaches and they ended up in my apartment, cleaned them out and haven't had any since, have never had them myself. they broke some furniture and placed it so it could not be seen until later.
