Roof was 30 years old and was rapidly deteriorating. Spenser came out and with his firm handshake alone, assured me of his confident competence. He alone among the other seven roofing salesman I had interviewed for the job seemed to immediately grasp the scope of the work and gave me a fair and thorough estimate with no guesswork. Although his wasn't the lowest estimate, it wasn't the highest by far. And by far I mean, thousands. Two of the companies I called seemed to give me the price they give when they don't want the job. They were 3 and 4 thousand higher than the reasonable bids I received. But Rhynehart's bid generated by Spenser was the only one that seemed to truly cover the circumstances of the job. They came and did the roof earlier than promised, and did an amazing job. They were on it early in the morning and finished around 4 that afternoon. The experience and skill of the crew was obvious - this wasn't their first rodeo by far. They quickly and efficiently tore off my old roof and replaced 16 sheets of OSB decking material, all of the roof vents and did the plumbing pipes. And roofed the house with spectacular "Black Oak" shingles from Malarkey. They used black, 2x2 drip-edge metal which really sets off the black roof and makes it look really thick. I can't say enough about the way this new roof pops. They meticulously cleaned up after themselves, leaving no debris, nails, fasteners, roof pieces old or new, or any other evidence of their work. It was a clean and excellent job and I am confident that when the rains come none of it will enter my home. (EDIT to add: A week later, the rains came. 4.2 inches over 4 days. NO leaks.) The entire crew and their foreman were courteous, quiet and efficient. There wasn't any yelling, loud music blasting from vehicles or boom boxes, or any cursing or swear words. They were all one hundred percent professional and went about their work professionally too. Rhynehart is the company you want doing your next roof job.
