One memorable experience: After I experienced some jaw pain, I came to see her to check things out. My teeth were all fine, so nothing she could do, but she suggested I go to a RMT who specializes in intra-oral massage. I had NEVER heard of this before, but I went to the specific RMT she mentioned and it was life changing. Seriously. After just one session, my jaw pain was gone. I was so relieved and grateful! Everyone must bill 3.5 unit of scaling along with other procedures as a must.. is it legal? Or over billing? Shouldn't be it as work and time needed? It's about making more money

The hygienist I saw was Natasha and not only was she super sweet and kind, she was full of helpful suggestions such as how to floss properly (she demonstrated it while I held a mirror so I could see). The dentist I saw is Dr. Shivji (junior). You can tell that he is confident in what he does and has great knowledge. Not only is her super personable but he is honest- he will not recommend getting things done that you don't really need just to make more money for the business (as I have experienced at other dental offices in the past). I get anxious about feeling anything when getting fillings and he was very gentle and reassuring, always checking to make sure I was doing ok. I trust him to give me good dental advice. Again, I cannot say enough good things about everyone working at Alpha Dental and my only regret is not being a patient here sooner.

Set above Chapters, this little dentist has a middle-of-the-road kinda look and feel, but it's Dr Newitt's professionalism, focus and no-nonsense approach that gets 5-stars. He doesn't chitter chatter whilst doing his work (which means he's focusing our your teeth! read: no errors!). He has his space observatory style magnification system, laser system and goodness knows whatever appropriately named dentistwizardry. I asked for more pain relief (I get nervous) and he obliged. He's a gentleman. My husband and I have been many times now for filling replacements, crown fitting/replacement, hygienist, mouth guard consultation - and each time I was delighted with the service. Dr Newitt will refer you to the best people in their field for larger more specialist jobs (braces, retainers, bone grafts). Why delighted? Whenever I had fillings elsewhere, there would be errors - they'd mess up and would have to keep going back (read: pay more). So far, Dr Newitt focuses on the job, and gets it done perfectly - first time. And that's the most important thing to me. And I hope to have a very long dental relationship with his practice, despite the 40 minute drive from Burnaby each time :)

Having to so frequently dig buried stuff out with a toothpick or dental brush often kept the area inflamed and swollen for days at a time, which would lead to more impaction, which led to more inflammation, etc. Over time my teeth shifted, and I began having the same problem on the OTHER side of the offending molar, too. It was making me crazy, to the point I'd wake up in the middle of the night and have to floss again, even though I'd done so before going to bed. When I asked if a solution was possible, Dr. Goran added some matrix to both sides of the molar's surface, and my 30 year long dental problem disappeared literally overnight. The procedure was painless and took less than an hour. Two years later, the matrix is still in place, and my former problem remains resolved. Office service here is always efficient and friendly, too. I'd recommend even for dental scaredy-cats.
