The train station in Lillestrøm is the easiest way to catch a fast train to Oslo. It takes only 10 minutes and a person can get their hair done at "Hairport" before heading out partying in Oslo. One can also drink a cappuccino and eat a pastry at Garcon together with friends. There is a traffic school and fast food to be eaten and keys can even be cut while you wait and of course a Narvesen to buy ones newspapers and play the Lotto.

We booked via third party which price wise was great but a little bit more confusing. Leading up to the trip we were asked for booking information we were never given. After a couple emails back and forth I think we solved the problem. Once we arrived to the terminal it was easy to check in with the gate agent and then get onto the boat. Our bags were not search before getting on board and we were able to get on the boat a little early. Once on the boat there was a couple of dining options. We ate at the Italian restaurant first and little to no complains. For dinner we did the steak house and honestly it was a let down. Fairly expensive and mediocre food, I would not recommend it. I think next time we would do the buffet or the Italian restaurant again. The room was small, and slightly different than the photos but it did the job. For a quick trip we couldn't ask for much more. I think I enjoyed breakfast the most- highly recommend! If you are going to book you might as well book a nice room because it includes the breakfast. We paid about $160 for two people in a large room which felt like a good deal. There are a ton of cheaper options on the boat if you are looking for a cheaper option.

Seats are comfy and even have little tables. Enough leg room for taller people. One thing: need to have the Eurobonus point system also for all other airports. Another suggestion: in the monitors with the flights in the middle aisle of the bus only very few flights are shown theoretically only the ones that you would potentially miss ;) suggest taking into the display a longer list of future flights.

There are two entrances that bring you to different roads and can save you time from walking around the whole station. The machines to buy tickets are near the main entrance. There is a room where you can sit near the tracks to keep you from getting cold but it's quite cold also so people usually stand near the top of the stairs inside.

You are literally within walking distance of many great attractions, restaurants, and shopping just outside its front entrance! Walk over or take a short ride to visit major attractions like the Royal Palace, Parliament, and Aker Brygge. It was a bit chilly when we visited in late May, however, with the brisk walking and a warm jacket we kept ourselves warm and comfortable. Accommodations: The hotel interior is stunning and exquisite in its design and decor. The rooms are suite sized and luxurious for your stay. Restaurants we dined in: During our stay, we were fortunate to experience dinner at the iconic Palmen restaurant. Entering the restaurant, your eyes are drawn to the most beautiful chandelier (see picture). The luxurious decor and expansive dining room sets the ambience for the culinary experience we were about to enjoy. The Palmen Restaurant is a renowned restaurant. The location honestly can't be beat since it's right across from the central station, which makes getting around Oslo (and even to the airport) super easy. You're also within walking distance of the Opera House, Karl Johans gate, and lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is clean, modern, and straightforward. Check-in is done at self-service kiosks, which was quick and painless, and the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. My room was on the smaller side, but it was well designed with good storage, a comfortable bed, and a nice shower. Wi-Fi worked perfectly too. A couple of things to keep in mind: this isn't a full-service hotel. There's no daily housekeeping unless you ask, and there's no restaurant on site, just a breakfast bag you can buy or snacks at the "barception." If you want more variety, there are great bakeries and cafés right outside. Also, if you're sensitive to noise, ask for a courtyard-facing room since the station area can be lively at night. Overall, I'd say this place is perfect if you want a clean, affordable, and super central base in Oslo without paying for extras you might not need. I'd definitely stay here again.

Oddly enough, the barista/bartender apparently serves as the hotel receptionist too, but you might not always spot the person there. We took the elevator to the 7th floor and entered the room. We had a little difficulty finding how to turn on the lights. We had to put the key card that we just made into a panel on the wall and push down hard so that it was seated properly. Once in, the wall switches and lamps worked. Bathroom/shower is one big room. No curtain, but it was easy to contain the water in the corner and not get it everywhere. The balcony is awesome. the view directly across is a parking garage, but the balcony itself is nice wood plank with evergreens in planters and cute modern chairs. I enjoyed hanging out on our rooftop patio and cleaning up before catching the midnight train to Bergen. This place was so close to the train station too. We were able to walk there with our suitcases in tow with ease. I would certainly recommend this place for the high tech, independent traveler that just needs a clean, simple place to crash for a few hours before heading back out for more adventures.
