This train station is not heated, if you are here in the winter come dressed. But the shops all have heat, so you can pop into a store to warm up if needed. But the tracks are not heated, so be prepared. All tracks are marked so look for your track. Once you find your track, check the board to see what car your reserved seat is located so that you can line up as closely to your car as possible. Line by quickly and make your way onto the train as quickly as possible to get your seat, get your luggage parked, because the train will go whether you are in your seat or not. Then Make sure that you have your ticket ready to show the ticket checkers on board the train. They don't check every leg, but be prepared to have either a paper ticket or the app on your phone ready to show the ticket checker. I highly Recommend to reserve your seat if you don't want to bother looking for a seat when you board. When you buy your tickets, they will tell you the demand rate. If the demand is low, you might be okay without reserving your seat. There are toilets on board if needed. Food is available to purchase in the food train. NOTE: Trains don't run on time, each leg was between 10 -15 minutes late. NOTE: by your tickets online or download the app to purchase ticket before you arrive to the station to save money. The day of tickets are double to triple the price if you book a few days ahead.

If you're from the United States and you're catching an Uber, be prepared to move fast to get your Uber. Don't order an Uber assuming there will be a typical delay of two or three minutes like in the United States. We had to pay our Uber driver a small waiting fee because of the time it took us to get from the door of the train station to the Uber.

As its…read morename suggests, it's just down the road from the zoo and some lovely gardens which are worth visiting The express train from Schoenefeld Airport stops here as does the express bus to Tegel airport. The U2 and U9 Unter-Bahn lines run through the station and there is a bus terminal just outside the station There is a selection of fast food restaurants and little shops in the station. From looking at these, you would guess that the national cuisine must comprise kebabs, Chinese noodles and Currywurst! They lose a star because it can be difficult to get information about which platform to catch trains from, so do your research beforehand. Otherwise, it's a model of German efficiency with all modes of transport seeming to run like clockwork I can recommend basing yourself in this area for a visit to Berlin

Beside the Berlin zoo, there are also got many cool shops and malls around, it simply made it a great area to shop, you can also go from here to the Tiergarten, to have yourself a walk or a bicycle trip. The station itself it quite big, there are come shops and restaurants inside as well. So no worries, if you are in hurry and hungry. It got information board everywhere to help the passengers better to find their way to the right train, the station itself is a city to city station. So it quite easy to get lost, just follow the signs on the wall. If you just want to have a short trip to Potsdam, you can take RE7, which usually it will stop at platform 3 or 4. Also work with S7, which at platform 6. Don't forget to get a ticket for C area first and valid it. You can also take the S-Bahn here back the Berlin main railway station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof). It got quite a big bus station outside as well. It's very convenient. The U-Bahn system of here does system a bit messy. For example, the U2 line, if you want to get to the other side, you have to go up and down for this, it really took some time away. For the people who in hurry, that's really a horrible experience. I hope, they can make it much more convenient for the passengers. U1, U2 and U9 are the available line that could switch here.

Brandenburger Tor is one of the nicer metro stations I visited on my trip to Berlin, as you can…read moretell with the name it serves the Brandenburger Tor which is basically the Brandenburg Gate which is one of the main and key attractions in Berlin. It is located on the U55 line which is quite useful for connections into Bundestag and Berlin Central Station, the overall journey across the line from Brandenburger Tor to the Hauptbanhof (Central Station) is 8 minutes and as I recall, this is the only line this station is on, meaning most likely you're going to have to visit another train station to change, being one of those two, to get the metro into Brandenburger Tor, perhaps because of this, it might just be easier to get the bus as I found to be easier when traveling from my Hotel. I called at this station by chance, hoping to get into Central Station so I used the U55 line to go the full length of the train route which is 8 minutes. There did appear to be one end of the station cornered off, which probably was the place you would get off the train for the U55 here at Brandenburger Tor, so they appeared to be turning and using the other plaform for some reason. This metro station did also seem bright and modern, it didn't seem old, dark and smelly like some trains on the network and also had lift access, warranting a solid three star rating which is supported by the location being meters away from the Brandenburg Gate. 3 star rating due to reasons discussed above, sadly I don't feel it is worth any higher as the station remains understaffed and of course it is only on the U55 line.

I remember the train slowing down through a brightly lit and empty station, except for an East German guard or two.. I still vividly remember the green tiles line the walls of the Unter den Linden (not Brandenburger Tor) station. I had the opportunity to return to the Brandenburger Tor station last year. I was walking down the Unter den Linden and heading towards the Brandenburg gate, where this time I could freely walk through unlike the Berlin Wall days. The station came into view in front of me and I immediately knew that I had been here before (albeit in passing underground). I walked downstairs, walked through the corridors and touched those green tiles. That's quite a reminder of what was and how walls could happen again.
