Not only that but it has two entrances at each end of it's (very long) platform; one end of which is 100 meters from my office with the other being 100 meters from my apartment. So this means the trains are almost instantly accessible but that there is a great undercover route to and from work when it rains or it's just freezing cold. Hamburg Airport, an IKEA, the beaches at Blankenese & Wedel, the StadtPark and the Reeperbahn all lie on this line (S1) costing just a couple of Euro to reach. Plus of course all other stations and lines can connected to via the S1 line via Stadthausbrucke station.

There are two entrances: one which leaves you at Michaellistraße and the other at Neuerwall. As it's a very long platform covering quite a distance between the entrances, it is helpful to know ahead of time where you need to exit at. There is a little bakery located in the train station that is run by a couple of very sweet ladies.

Lately the sun has been shining and the docks and various river traffic look particularly good. You always tend to see something different everyday - a floating crane making its way upriver, or some such. Even in the rain, it's still good. Very... naval, like the opening seen in 'Hunt for Red October', or something. This is what Hamburg is all about.
