Learning to drive on the other side of the road... it really isn't as simple as that. My employer required me to get a British Driving License so I went online to see if I could find an instructor in the area. I found the website for U Drive MSM, so I decided to enquire. Ok... so I may have been slightly influenced by the idea of being able to take lessons in a Mini Cooper... ok a lot influenced. I contacted the main instructor on the website, Glyn Morgan. He responded very quickly and told me that he taught lessons in Lincoln, but would refer me to one of his colleagues.
In a couple days, one of his colleagues, Jon Foreman contacted me, answered all my questions and set up a lesson right then. In all of my lessons, Jon was very professional, but he was also very understanding and patient. Learning to drive can be a very nervous experience, but he always kept calm, which helped me keep calm. He made sure to cover everything and to answer all of my questions. While I have an American Driving License, he never assumed anything, but would try to use my skills and knowledge of driving in the states, to help me learn the skills and knowledge needed to drive in the UK.
I passed both the theory test and the practical tests on the first time and feel confident in my driving skills. I would highly recommend Jon (he only teaches manual transmission... should've mentioned that earlier). read more
