Rental choices were decent, they had what we wanted. Rental was clean. Cab was in good shape. Attendant was a bit short with my wife when she came alone to pick up the rental pickup. I've used this uhaul before with no issues, I'm active duty military with an out of state drivers license that SAYS it's expired, however my state recognizes it as valid due to federal and state law that says so. Today the extremely rude customer service representative that clearly had an attitude about needing to do anything other than sit there said he needed to see the paperwork from the DMV. There is no paperwork, you call my state DMV and they will tell you it's a valid license. I do not recommend anyone utilize this location if you have any other options. read more

The customer service representative was rude and not polite because I went onsite to reserve a Uhaul truck. He did not have any sense of politeness at all although I was speaking with him in a polite manner. I felt like he was doing me a big favor by renting me a vehicle. What a jerk and nasty person I met that day. My whole day was ruined that day because of thinking about such a nasty person. Absolutely awful. They ripped me off by providing paperwork that told me how much to refill the tank, and when I followed the recommendation I ended up giving them an extra quarter of a tank a gas. With a truck that big, it was probably about $25 worth. Then, when I returned the truck I told the guy and he did not seem surprised or offer to give me a credit. He would not even recognize that the gas was full, instead of at 3/4 tank like it was when I picked it up. And then he lied on the paperwork-- saying that the tank was only 3/4 full when was actually full--so that they would not have to give me a credit. Then when I sent a complaint to corporate, they just said too bad so sad. These guys are crooks, and they regularly commit consumer fraud-- And it runs all the way up to the corporate level. Renting a trailer isn't something I look forward to doing, I mean who likes to move, really? This was my 2nd experience here and I found the staff to be helpful and professional. James reserved a 5 X 8 trailer which I picked up on a Saturday morning. I wanted to check the interior just to make sure it was all clean inside. Low and behold...the door wouldn't close all the way. The Rep tried to slam it shut a couple of time and then called over his partner who also tried to slam it shut a couple of times and they finally agreed...the door would NOT shut. We got a UHaul to move from VA to Minnesota. The UHaul they gave us had the check engine light come on when we got to Pennsylvania. So we turned around and returned it to the Springfield location and they still charged us $600 for using the UHaul even though their truck malfunctioned and the check engine light came on and we didn't feel safe driving the rest of the way to Minnesota like that. read more

I went here to try to buy some boxes and bubble wrap. Guy at counter asks if I want a receipt after I finished my transaction. He then said the transaction didn't go through even though computer screen said "approved". I scan the card two more times and he says it still doesn't work! He asks to type my card manually but it doesn't work! WTF?! I checked my bank account and no charges were pending. I guess their computer broke which completely sucks for me. I mean, wow. Just WOW! Never rent from here! Management TERRIBLE! Couldn't help me fix a problem they caused in Baltimore. Charged me round trip when I specifically said one way. BLUF: Worst experience. I reserved a 4x8 trailer to pick up some flooring from a place in Chantilly. The reservation process was smooth, but the trailer was rusted and rickety looking. When we got to the place and loaded it the driver side tire went flat. We called U-Haul and they said to make a request for a tow online. The website was difficult to navigate via my phone so I called. Customer service was fine and they said the tow truck would be there in 45 minutes. The tow company sent a guy in an SUV to fix it. The wheel he brought didn't fit so he went to a Uhaul in Chantilly to get a wheel off of another trailer. That wheel didn't fit either. I called U-Haul Manassas and they told me to take the trailer to Chantilly. How was I supposed to do that? There was no tow truck! You can't drive a trailer with a flat tire on the freeway. The sales rep in Manassas was a completely incompetent. The tow guy finally had to bang the tire into place (2 hours later). All in all the experience was horrible. Horrible sales reps at U-Haul and malfunctioning equipment. read more

It's unfortunate that I can't give them negative stars. The service here was extremely slow. The one person they had working let someone cut in front of me while I was waiting to check out. I would not recommend this place. Choose a different u-haul location if you need to rent a truck. Poor service. read more

Great experience! I went online to reserve a truck, and it told me that this location had the truck I needed, so I finished the reservation. I also downloaded the Uhaul app on my phone and found out I could do a self check out to avoid the line for pick up. I arrived at the location fully prepared to do the self pickup, but there was only one other person there, so I was helped at the counter immediately. Cole was very helpful and got me out the door in about 5 minutes to my truck. The truck was in great condition and ran well despite having 181k miles on it. We loaded it up, and it was the perfect size for what we were moving. Upon taking the truck back, the check out process was easy and quick, maybe another 5 minutes. Bravo to this location and thank you for helping make my move easy. Best part is it cost less than $100! read more

I was a little irritated with the front desk guy. I went online to make reservations and decided to pop into the store to ensure they would have a 20' truck ready for me at the time and date requested. I was informed that there were no guarantees. I informed the front desk guy that I had movers coming to pack the truck so I need confirmation. He said the only thing he could tell me was that there would be a truck available, but I may have to drive as far as 20 miles out to pick it up, and he still couldn't tell me what time the truck would be available. He went on to tell me how he doesn't get home sometimes until midnight due to picking up trucks (yada yada yada). Although he didn't make this suggestion, once I left the store and returned home I decided to go back online and change the pickup day to the day before. I can't put the movers on hold, because U-Haul doesn't have their stuff together. read more

I am a little late writing this review because I rented the truck a few months ago but I had a good experience. I scheduled about a week ahead of time through the website and also ordered several packs of furniture pads. I ordered the 26 foot truck knowing that it would be overkill but did not want to have to worry with making two trips. It is also the same price as the 24 foot truck so why not? I arrived about 15 minutes after opening and had to wait for one person in front of me. By the time I had completed the paperwork, my truck was running and ready for me to drive off with the furniture pads in the back. Turn-in was also easy. I pulled up in front of the store and one of the workers met me in the parking lot, did a quick inspection, and sent me inside to close out the paperwork. The only complaint is the age of the truck. Although everything functioned on the truck it was apparent this truck was well past its prime. I hope I do not have to move again anytime soon but if I do, I would not hesitate to use this U-Haul location. read more

Terrible Service!! Walked in first thing in the morning to get a truck and was not sure about the right size truck needed for the move. The Manager/ owner was very rude and did not even bother to help me get the right truck. So I ended up getting something way bigger than what the job required. He was not courteous or helpful one bit. I have rented trucks from here in the past, and all the other employees that work there have been very helpful each and every time. His employees need to may be teach him how to provide good customer service. As the Manager/owner has none of those qualifications. The truck he had given me broke down because of a bad battery and I had to get a jump from another truck to get the one started. When I returned the truck I had addressed the issue and still he did not give a damn about it. He was only focused on collecting the payment. I run a business myself and its not about money, its about how you take care of customers in order for them to return back and do business over and over. May be the owner or manager whoever he is, is in the wrong business. Good luck!! read more
