I returned a couple of large TV boxes that I didn't use for moving here from Denver, and everyone was so nice and pleasant. I especially was pleased to observe how seriously patient and kind a gentleman was in helping a young lady learn the processes and procedures. A level of kindness and respect rarely shown to new employees. I believe his name was Mike. I have a new credit card number since moving, and there was some concern the refund might not get applied to my new card number so he gave me his personal cell number. Very good service at this U-haul location. The customer ahead of me in line was very rude and expected the staff to understand vague instructions on a rental storage unit. All 3 staff members did their best to assist him and got it figured out with patience, even though the customer was not friendly. My reservation for a trailer went smoothly and I was in and out quickly. The store is laid out well with easy drive-through access. Contrary to other reviews (for Uhaul roadside assistance, which is a corporate function and not based out of the local dealer) I found them to be helpful and communicative. I had a tire blow out on the rental trailer and roadside assistance took our information and called back within 15 minutes to let us know when the mobile tire service would be there. The tire was replaced within 1.5 hours (we were in the middle of nowhere Wyoming). Roadside assistance texted twice to make sure the tire service arrived. I have rented from other dealers and this was a very good experience in comparison. read more

Great customer service in store, HOWEVER we got a truck that broke down on the side of the interstate and died suddenly and would not start again. And their roadside assistance was no assistance. And left my dad stranded on the side of the interstate for over 7 hours in 100 degree heat with traffic speeding by at 70 mph within inches of the truck and trailer. This also stranded my disabled mother and her service dog in the heat with traffic buzzing by. I had to drive 110 miles one way to rescue them while having to leave my dad with the truck because Uhaul said "help was on the way". They kept saying all of the towing crews were busy with other jobs and kept canceling the tow truck to get us off of the side of the interstate. They finally sent a service crew to get him to the truck stop 1 mile away 7 hours later. They could not get the part leaving him stranded at a truck stop longer. Luckily the truck stop found the part and got him on the road at 730pm when he was first stranded before 11am. I then had to drive back with a family member at 7pm to go and get my moms van which had to be left at the truck stop 110 miles one way again. Truck check apparently wasn't done because the problem appeared to be spark plugs and coils either that or vehicles need more routine maintenance. So we were sent with an unsafe vehicle then abandoned on the interstate. The representative on the phone Joann was great at trying to find a solution and get my dad to safety. The head regional manager Philip was in contact with the rep from his home and trying to fix the mess. Not until after 5 hours of trying to reach a competent representative. This is such a safety issue and ridiculous that he got abandoned that long with barely any water in 100 degree weather on the side of the interstate. read more

I would give this negative stars if I could. The customer service was absolutely horrible and the "owners" (Stock holding employees) are sarcastic pricks that laugh, snort with anger, and act like incompetent children. I went there to return a lock I purchased less then 24 hours prior because I no longer needed the lock. They would no return it because the plastic packaging had a crack in it and told they can not sell damage products, but when I purchased that lock that crack was already there. This review is not directed specifically. to this specific location but to UHAUL in general. Recently my wife and I were moving from Lincoln Nebraska to Ankeny Iowa and we rented a 26' truck to move our possessions the truck was loaded good and Friday morning we were ready to go. In the beginning the trip was uneventful until thirty miles north of Council Bluffs the when the truck broke down. I understand that mechanical problems happen and we called the Roadside Assistance number UHAUL gave us. After telling them the problem and 3 times the location they sent a text to my phone for the GPS location which failed. They dispatched a tow for us and told us the ETA would be 1 hour. They did not check on me till two hours later to tell me the tow was not coming. Long story short I was on the side of Interstate 80 mile marker 34 for 6 hours and at hour number 7 I got repaired and on the road. I was checked on repeatedly after a UHAUL operator Joanne came on duty. She worked hard to help my wife and I come up with a solution to the dilemma we were in AND it was the contracted service techs who found the part, not UHAUL. UHAUL"s instructions were not to find the part and to just tow to Ankeny to the drop off point. And then it was up to us to set our possessions to our final destination. I understand that there is only so much one can do on their part but the heat index was over 100 degrees with actual temp of mid 90's. They at least should have gotten some resource sent to get water to us if not get us off the interstate. This is not the first incident I have had with UHAUL but I will be leery about renting from them in the future. read more

Lost my reservation! Helpful young guys; confused elderly woman at the counter. I made a reservation via phone on Monday. The guy on the phone emailed me the confirmation. That part went fine. However...When I went to pick up the trailer on Friday, it was way more complicated than a simple rental should've been. I waited in line for a couple minutes. Then when it was my turn, the lady at the counter couldn't find my name in the system. Fortunately, I'd printed out & brought my confirmation. She spent nearly 10 minutes searching her system & calling someone on the phone before telling me "That reservation was cancelled." I explained that it could NOT have been cancelled, because I am the only one who would've called to cancel, and I had not. After about 5 tries of repeating and spelling my email address, I finally asked if I could please just write it down for her. Throughout the whole thing, she kept talking to the other employees via walkie-talkie. They were standing no more than 5 feet away at the same counter. She was surprised by the resulting feedback each time. I kid you not. Funny, but frustrating. Finally, she set me up with a bigger trailer for the same price (score!) The guys behind the counter were another story entirely. They were all in GREAT moods, very friendly, very helpful - even as they hauled trailers in 90+ degree heat. As I left, they told me "remember, make wide turns!" and when I returned it, one of them backed it into the spot for me. I made a reservation 2 weeks before my out-of-state move. When I made the reservation, the lady over the phone told me someone would call me the next day to schedule my truck pick up. I waited, no call. I called back a few days later, and man over the phone told me that they generally call to schedule a pick-up 3-4 days before the move. I waited, no call. I called two or three days before my move, and the man over the phone told me that they generally call to schedule the pick up THE EVENING BEFORE THE DAY OF THE MOVE! Fine. I waited. No call. Well, on the DAY of my move, I called their main office and was told to go to this location to pick up my truck. I got there at 10:00 am, and they told me they had no truck available!!! I am moving across the country, and I don't have a truck to load my stuff into on the day of my move! Edit: At noon I called them and they said that the truck was still unavailable, and that they would check again and call me within 5 mins. I didn't get a call. My boyfriend and I showed up in person at 1:30, and Jason, the General Manager, managed to put us in a different truck. His customer service was fantastic, but no one else at the location helped us on our previous visits at all. In fact, the woman I spoke to in person earlier that morning had informed us our truck wasn't available and there were no others available. I added 1 star to my review because of what Jason did for us that really saved the day. So thank you Jason, we appreciate it. My overall is still low because the other people at this location were not helpful, nor was the regional scheduler, and it added much more stress and chasing this company down than I would have liked on moving day. read more

We rented a truck from this location. We were getting our stuff out of storage after finally moving into our home. We got stuck in the mud. After trying for an hour to get through on the customer service line - and being incormed that we have an invalid customer ID number... The one on our paperwork.... My husband and I went down to the location to speak with someone. Before listening to our issue the general manager, assuming he knew exactly what our problem was, promptly and rudely informed us that it was our problem and we would need to take of it. I have never have such a poor response to a customer complaint. Then, when I asked for his direct superior's number, he gave me a number to customer care and a name. Neither of which is where you file a complaint. All I wanted was to turn the truck in later and not be charged an overage fee. There isn't an option for zero stars, which is what such a "great" general manager like this so richly deserves. read more
