The staff here are disorganised and rude. I had booked my trailer at a different location where it was said to be available which was later changed to this location without consulting with me. When I arrived to pick the trailer I was sent back and forth multiple times, in and out of the building with staff telling me the other staff would deal with me. Once the staff at the desk started checking me in, the dates in their system must have got messed up when they changed the location because they told me I booked it wrong and it wouldn't be available which ended up being wrong and it was available. Even if I had booked incorrectly, which I had not, there is no need to be rude. On dropping off the trailer, the yard was chaotic. While moving my trailer, someone in a van cut me off, parked, then they went to pull out and ripped the front end off of a customers car with the back number of there van. I was so glad to get out of there and hope I never go back again. read more

If you need a rental truck and cannot find someone to lend you one privately then U-haul is the way to go. The staff at this particular location is very helpful and friendly, but the the service is slooooowww. Be prepared to wait even in a small line, for a while. Just picking up some boxes? See a couple people in line? Better book the afternoon off. I wish I was joking. We reserved a u-haul for a move in the winter, and if your doing out of town moves prepare to pay $$$. The Truck was older, dirty and had bald tires. While returning the truck we got stuck in a well traveled residential area. Uhaul support (over the phone) was rude and not helpful. Luckily some fellas passing by in a truck were able to pull us out, because U-haul customer support informed us that we would have to pay for the tow truck. We were relieved to be back on the road after 2 hours of pulling this monster out of the snow, but were 2 hours late returning the vehicle. Staff at this location were kind and didn't charge us a late fee. Thank you for that by the way. read more

This place is a nightmare. I had to drop a trailer off here on a Saturday morning. Dropping it off on time is usually a quick and easy process. But they only had two staff working and a lineup of customers that went out the door. The guy who eventually helped me had an incredible amount of trouble with the computer system. The simple task of dropping the trailer off should have taken just a few minutes as I returned it prior to its return time and it was prepaid. But it ended up being 45 minutes of frustration. Not the greatest ambience either. Two guys were fighting and pushing each other in the parking lot. My imagination believes most of the other patrons were getting trucks so they could skip town to dodge law enforcement or renting getaway vehicles for crimes yet to be committed. read more

Rented a storage unit at the 50 st location the staff there are just unbelievably rude, no help what so ever, they tell you how you have to enter your unit with codes and doors and 2 entry pads but do you think these lazy ppl will get off their butts to show you, then dealing with them pretty much most of these workers is actually pathetic, they treat you like their doing you something and getting nothing back in return, they would rather sit there and eat and fill their faces with skip the dishes then deal with the custimer, then I tried making a payment on a Sunday the store wasn't open so I call the 1-800 number and the lady that I dealt with was actually decent her name was Julia and she was so helpful, she set up for the store to call me back but did that happen nope they called my daughter instead and when I went to call them back after my daughter called me to tell me, the store continued to place me on hold, over and over again, so I call the 1-800 number again and that's when I dealt with Erin and let me tell you Erin should just go home and go straight to bed, Erin needs some customer service skills taught to her and Erin needs to slow down and not rush the custOmer and Erin I got the postal code from your website and you tell me it's wrong so you can't find the location like none of these ppl know what their doing, and if they do they just don't care, too lazy, these workers are just unbelievably rude, they rush the customer, they act like we should know what they know and quite frankly I will never deal with uhaul ever again, it's that bad, I can't even think of one nice thing to say about dealing with all of this. It's really sad that this location is actually still open. I had my ubox to be shipped to this location. Whole moving was delayed becasue they could not be reached by shippers. Shippers ended up sitting with my box for few days in Edmonton simply becasue they can not contact this location to drop the box in the storage. I ended up asking shippers to send my box to different location where they at least receive their phone calls. This location completely screwed up our booking for our April 1 move-in date and were completely rude to us about it. When I asked the manager at this location if she was able to call anywhere else within the city to try and rectify their error she told me there was no way anyone in Edmonton would have a truck and refused to even look into the matters. She was completely rude to my boyfriend when he was there to pick it up in the first place which is why I called. They completely screwed us over for our move and refused to even just try and help us in any way. After many attempts to contact head office in general over our complaint and issue they have not had the decency to even return my call or emails. Made a full 24 hr (one day) truck rental through 1-800. This location phoned me day before I was due to pickup truck telling me they wanted to shorten my rental time in half because they wanted to rent to someone else during my reserved time. I talked to 1-800 again immediately they told me rental would be ok and co firmed it with supervisor. Stewart (ass. Gen. manager) called again during day and after speaking with me he confirmed rental would be there with no problems- then he went ahead and cancelled my reservation so he could rent truck multiple times during my reserved period. Stewart says he won't do buisness with me because I wouldn't change my rental hours. U-Haul Canada fixed me up with a nearby confirmed rental for almost same time period and gave $50 "credit for reservation guarantee". Still not impressed with a location (independently owned) that will cancel a reservation in advance just so they can make more money renting to multiple people during my confirmed reservation time. Avoid this place! Getting a hitch installed here was a nightmare! First, we were booked for a 7am appointment, which seemed surprisingly early for an installation but they assured us it was not a problem. It turned out our suspicions were right because when I showed up at 7am, the woman at the desk said that they do not start installations until 9am, when the installations guy starts work. Then, she couldn't find our appointment in the computer system. It turned out someone had moved the appointment to Thursday because they found out they did not have the parts in stock! She said someone left us a voicemail about it, but we never received anything and there was no record of a call from them in the call log. When I came back on Thursday, the guy at the desk said it would take maximum 3 hours to do the installation, "guaranteed". I returned after 3 hours only to find out that they had not even started the installation! Apparently someone threw out a tool they needed and the manager was out buying a new one and no one knew when he would be back. I ended up having to wait an additional 2 hours for the installation to be done. Based on this experience, I would never recommend this place for anything. They seem really disorganized and unable to keep track of their parts, tools and employee schedules... Go somewhere else unless you don't mind having your time wasted! read more

Fantastic staff! I went in to buy a large amount of packing boxes and some tape. There were too many boxes to fit into my small car and besides, I have arthritis in my hands and damaged rotator cuffs and carrying large or heavy objects is difficult and painful for me. The attendant offered to load them in her vehicle and drive them to my house and unload them. That is the kind of helpful service you don't find very often these days. read more

One of the worst experiences I have had in a very very long time!! Do not depend on them they are unethical, do not care and they will let you down. I would have given them negative stars if it was allowed. The only reason I went to this branch for the Auto Transport trailer was because my car broke down on the street right behind their facility. To me this was a "No Brainer!" boy was I mistaken, I couldn't have been more wrong. When I arrived for my first attempt at a reservation pickup at 5:00pm Thursday I was told there were no available trailers because one of their representatives had taken an "over the phone" reservation that wasn't in their computer system and they were holding the trailer for these people. I was there as per my telephone reservation but they were holding my trailer for someone that phoned her directly. I was told I would have to come back Friday morning at 7:00am for my trailer. When I arrived Friday at 7:00am for my next reservation they were giving the trailer to the guy who arrived early for his 8:00am appointment and was right in front of me in line. So he got my reserved trailer and I was told to come back at 8:00 am and they would have a trailer for me. When I arrived for the trailer at 8:25am there was no trailer available for me. They said the one that they were expecting had not yet been returned. Note that the trailer for the guy who showed up early for his 8:00 reservation was still on the lot. Ultimately I returned to my home town of Fort Saskatchewan to pick up a trailer from U-Haul there when they opened at 9:00am, they were fantastic to deal with. Then I drove back to Edmonton to pick up my car on the street right behind the 50th Street facility. Between my son and I we spent over 1 1/2 hours on hold trying to get this situation straightened out. They should have been embarrassed by this situation but it is so common for them that they just don't give a d..n! Given the extremely high unemployment rate in the Edmonton area it is totally unbelievable that have these people working for them the owners of this facility need to take a hands on approach and find staff that actually cares. read more

I sent them a check for my July payment and they cashed it a week early. The check was sent back because my bank doesn't take post dated checks. I then had to senta money order registered mail costing an additional $20. I had to call customer service as they never answer the phone there. I asked for the manager to call me and he never did. I sent them a letter to not put the payment through early and they still did. This is the worst storage place on the planet. And if you call customer service be prepared for a4 hour hold. Until they eventually get you through to the right department. The customer service is the worst in the world also. There are never any paper towels or soap in the bathroom and it is rarely cleaned. The 24 hour access codes rarely work and if you complain about it. They threaten to discontinue the 24 hour access. The manager Mary MacDonald cancelled my 24 hour access saying I was triggering the alarm. I noticed after she cancelled my 24 hour access the alarm didn't go off anymore. I didn't do anything differently to sign in or out. She also said I owed her $20 when I owed her nothing. read more

I tried to have a hitch installed too many times to no avail. Given too many excuses on why they had my vehicle but couldn't do it again and again and again. They called me several hours later because they couldn't find my keys, even accused me of not leaving it. Another time, the compressor broke so the power tools won't work. If my petite wife can change a flat tire on the side of the road without power tools, these "men" should be able to attach bolts and nuts to a hitch as well. Another time they called to say the hitch they brought in was not right for my vehicle, even accusing me of changing the order. Yet another time, the guy committed to work on my vehicle had to stop as didn't know what to do. Very disorganized and unprofessional. The owner should realize this isn't a staff problem but a system problem. Don't go into business if you don't know what you're doing. If you can't support and train your people, you're bringing down the brand for all locations. read more

They called me stating that I did not return the trailer I had rented which I promptly returned the call stating that I had the night before after hours and put it exactly where the girl told me to. The girl on the phone stated she would look into it straight away and would have someone call me back asap. No one ever called me back. Also the guy who was supposed to help me hook up the trailer to the truck had no idea what trailer I was even supposed to receive or how to hook it up. It took a ridiculous amount of time to be helped as he just wandered around the lot aimlessly instead of asking for help as he clearly had no clue what he was doing. I will never use this location again and will be sure to never recommend it to anyone. read more

I reserved the truck over a month in advance. We got word the just a couple days before that the truck wouldn't be ready until 6:15pm. We had everything booked for early that day so we had to rebook everything. They told us the best they could do was 3pm but still didn't get it until 5pm due to truck breaking down. This caused the move in to finish at 1am. I was livid. The only redeeming quality was the staff was alright. The system is atrocious however. The ability to reserve date AND time is sorely needed. read more
