Carl, at U-Tiki, was the bartender that I asked if I could please get carrots or celery for my fish dip. He was very curt and adamant that they had none ... I questioned him about celery for Bloody Mary's?? His answer was again NO! ...His attitude was arrogant and rude as he walked away and totally shut me down. Next, I watched him telling one of the other bartenders what I said verbatim ... how embarrassing. I told him it was too bad I can read lips .... A beautiful setting right on the inlet overlooking boats. It can be a little warm on the uncovered deck. But that's what the great drinks are for. We ordered some beer and a cosmopolitan and enjoyed them. While we perused the menu that is filled with seafood favorites period we had the grouper Burger and the shrimp tacos period both were very difficult to eat as they were overfilled. Period so certainly worth the money, but just very sloppy period the grouper came in pieces rather than one large Burger type Patty, which was a little surprising based on the description period ordered the peanut butter pie for dessert. Went for a late lunch with my boyfriend and U-Tiki was a suggestion from a friend...we also wanted to see the boat parade and knew they drive right past as the lighthouse is across the way. Got there for 3pm (we weren't sure when they would really start to get busy so we decided we'd spend the day) and were promptly sat. After a few minutes our server came to warmly greet us. He was very patient and gave us time to look over the menu and chat for a bit. My boyfriend ordered the pepperoni flatbread which has double mozzarella and 3 pieces of pepperoni on each individual slice! I had to try it, as I'm a cheese monger, and it was soooo cheesy, gooey, and delicious. I recommend this if you enjoy a very cheesy pizza. I asked the server his recommendation for apps and he said either tuna tostada or Shaka shrimp. I told him to surprise me and I was brought the shrimp. A very nice portion and a really tasty dish. The shrimp were nice and crispy, but coated in a creamy sweet/spicy sauce. I enjoyed them very much. I also ordered a casamigos margarita light on the sour mix and a grand marnier floater. It was good, but not great. I originally wanted to order a fish entree, but was told dinner menu wasn't available til 4pm. A little before 4pm the server asked if we planned on ordering any wraps because those are not available after 4pm. I wasn't planning on it, so I said no, but then I read the description of the ahi tuna wrap, and was second guessing myself...but decided to stick with my original choice which was the honey mango mahi-mahi topped w lump crab. I ordered a little after 4pm and it came out shortly after. The dish automatically comes w mixed greens and you choose a second side. I thought the size of the fish was on the smaller side, slightly over cooked, and there was a lot of sauce. The mixed greens were just that...no tomatoes, cucumbers, onions...if you're going to make this an automatic side I'd expect a little more than a pile of mixed greens on a plate. I had the u-tiki potatoes as my side, which was like a cheesy potato casserole w shredded potatoes, and that was very good. Overall, the dish was good but lacking in execution and I probably wouldn't order it again...I would definitely go back to try other things (I feel like they thrive on sandwiches, sushi, flatbreads, and apps...after eating my entree I would probably stay away from that section in the future) and the fact that our server was excellent and the view with the lighthouse were beautiful. After paying our bill we went down by the marina to get seats for the parade which were first come first serve, so we had front row seats. It was a beautiful day/evening and we really enjoyed ourselves! 4 stars because of the entree (too much sauce, small portion of slightly overcooked fish, plain mixed greens). We always enjoy coming here. Just know the wait will be at least one hour and make peace with it - enjoy the views of the lighthouse and get a drink. We have had luck before grabbing one of the first come first serve tables on the sand. It's a limited menu with flatbreads and sushi but they let the kids order from the kids menu. I love you utiki. Whenever a guest comes into town, we always try to eat at utiki, and get there at the right time. The food is great, and the view is incredible. The only downside is that they do not take reservations, and due to popularity, it may be difficult for you to get a table. You will face this issue if it's after 5 o'clock on a weekday, holiday, but especially the weekends. I have been here 2 times now and enjoyed them each time. The location is nice and relaxed compared to some of the more formal places that surround it. The appetizers are the strongest part in my opinion and include amazing sushi, fried oysters and chilled shrimp. The whole place has a cool outdoor tiki feel and is directly on a marina. There is indoor and or outdoor seating. Outdoor when the sun isn't out might be nice, but inside with the wind is where we were seated. It was a beautiful windy day and the restaurant is open so everyone has a view. The menu is very similar if not the same as Cool'a Fishbar. This time we ordered the steak and shrimp and WOW! The food yet again was very similar to the other restaurant, but the portions were more generous. The dessert we tried too was great! There were a few items that were different, for example, they offer Joombalaya which is VERY spicy. Ask about this, if this can be at a lower level then great! If not, be careful. When you see U-Tiki Beach, where tables, during COVID, have people less than a couple of feet apart, and two-tops crammed into the central breezway, between decks, where pairs of people are eating as dozens of others, mostly masked, pass through, it speaks volumes about how this place sees its customers. The place is packed. Waiting isn't out front, where they can space people much better. It's in the usual places inside, where way too many people are congregated. They shoo some of them down to the water. There, with a "45min to hour wait" it's still a little too many people around. Old school pagers only go so far, too, so you can't wander too far away from the base station, and walk the further down in the marina. The "beach" is a bit of artificial sand, between the marina walkway, and the restaurant. There are some tables there, that are well spaced out, on the sand. We saw that, in photos of the place, and thought that might be a good place to land, in a place that's too crowded. The seating hostess told us the beach tables were first-come, first-served. We waited for a table to clear, and sat down. The waitress brought menus. I asked if she could wipe it down. She was starting to get very surly about how busy she was, when the busser, thankfully, came to her rescue and cleaned the table up. Strike one. The menus dropped were the appetizers, and a kid menu. Apparently, we found out, this is what you get on "the beach." Full menu? Back up to the cattle pen up on the deck. I went back, and asked for our pager back. They dropped some very greasy conch fritters, a kid burger so dry that it put McDonald's to shame, a watery mojito, and truly one of the worst "virgin" piña coladas that I've ever tasted. Strike two. Looking up at the decks full of maskless people, we pondered, whether, in COVID, this was such a good idea. I went back up to one of the managers. I said that a member of our party had some serious health issues, and asked if there was some way that, when called, we could just stay at the beach table to eat. "Our kitchen isn't big enough to serve all of those tables," he told me. "Well, recalling what the COVID spacing code is, your tables aren't really meeting it, so maybe, at some point, remove some from the deck, and serve down there, where you can also accommodate people with special needs that result from the pandemic." "Everyone is setting up their tables this way," He replied. "Doing something dangerous and stupid, in violation of the county ordinance, just because other places are doing it, doesn't seem like the best business plan, does it?," I replied. "This seems like a nice place. When I like someplace, I'm likely to come back quite a few times. That's a few hundred bucks a year, at least. When you create a situation that you just said that you know is unsafe, do you really think that makes me want to come back here, even when we're well past COVID? What does it say about how you think about your customers?" He was very sorry. I was too. I shouldn't have stayed, hoping for some understanding. When places pack like this, when the State of Florida is still very much a pandemic hot-point, it's very clear what they think of us all. Strike Three. I know how weary we are of all of the restrictions, and how badly we want our normal back, after a bit more than a year of this. Everyone establishes their own risk tolerance. For me, their food is never going to amount to much, when I believe that my wallet, not my enjoyment, nor my good health, seem, to me, to matter a whole lot. Mojito. Virgin Pina Colada. The food was fresh and delicious! It's very much seemed like a popular spot especially because we had to wait an hour and 15 mins. The scenery was beautiful and we were there to witness the sun setting. We also waited about 30-40 mins from the time we had our appetizers to the time we received our entree which was a bit annoying but given that the food was so fresh it was worth it. My favorite drink was the U tiki signature drink but believe me when I say they were all good. The steak was juicy and flavorful. The price was appropriate for the portion size. The color of the meal popped, would make you want to dig right in. CONS: Steak was dry and over cooked, would've liked it to be medium rare. U-tiki is a waterfront restaurant overlooking the Jupiter Lighthouse. The entire area is open air, but they have a lot of fans to help keep the area cool. No reservations here, so there can be a long wait time depending on your party size. They have a pretty big bar area, so it's usually easy to grab a seat and an appetizer/cocktail while waiting for your table. The menu is primarily seafood, but there is something for everyone -- burgers, steak options, wraps, etc. Highly recommend the sweet potato crusted hogfish and the tuna basil roll! I've been here multiple times and I think each time I always get the same thing. Sweet potato crusted hogfish with the mixed greens and utiki potatoes. You HAVE to get the utiki potatoes. Great place with great food and great service! We came here for my birthday dinner and because we had some family in town and we wanted to show them the beauty that Florida has to offer, the ocean! Unfortunately the tables next to us were getting soaked and had to start clearing out so it got a little hectic for a minute which as a restaurant on the water I would have expected them to have prepared better for this. It had been raining all day so you would think that they would have not sat tables in an open area. I had the filet mignon and shrimp which was delicious! My husband had the mango salmon and was not impressed at all! The side of potatoes is absolutely delicious! Highly recommended. It was overpriced and dry. So dry that I actually thought it was chicken when it arrived. We also had the oysters to start and those were ok, nothing special about them.
