I take Uber and Lyft almost always a weekly basis or traveling to the airport. Sometimes one is better than the other. A few Uber options are as follows: Uberx is the basic: warning though you might end up in a hoopty. Cracked windshields or a car thats been keyed by a jealous ex. UberBlack -luxury car UberSUV for a large party. UberXl is a step up from basic. I used this one recently. I rode in a nice Dodge Durango at a pool rate. So from Union Station to my destination. However because it was pooled, I was last to go home #sadface. This guy drove slow and I mean slow! However now there are better options now, for us ladies to ride safer. Ladies you can request a female driver now!! I only had one bad experience with Uber but that was a very long time ago. I like this that i can request a female driver and feel safer. If your going home from the airport, make sure you have both apps open and plug in your destination. They prices vary. So from Dulles to home is about 25 miles my ride was only $30. Lyft was me charging $73. Also refresh your app. The rates change. So when its in high demand . The prices go up. Wait a little and see that the prices will drop. Also doing UberShare helps save . I never have to share a ride I also have UberOne which saves me money but im under a promotion period for 30 days. read more

Uber abandoned me at the airport and the app broke down. I scheduled a ride from the airport to my apartment A DAY BEFORE. I got off the plane to find my Uber driver 40 minutes away. I called him and he had no explanation except "Call Uber". BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE. I was unable to cancel the ride for another because your app thought my ride was "in progres" AND it wouldn't let me log in to make a phone call through the app or get help. Over and over again for an hour I tried to get help from Uber and couldn't reach a SINGLE PERSON. When I finally did--all they could do was charge me $30 for the trip you forced me to cancel THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE WHEN I ARRIVED and then charge me $78 for a new ride--$30 MORE THAN THE RIDE I HAD SCHEDULED. I've now paid $100 to wait an hour to get home when I should've paid $40 to not have to wait at all. They stole money from me, failed to help me when they left me stranded at the airport, finally *did* connect me with an agent only to charge me more than double for all the difficulty, and then made it impossibly difficult to even ASK for a refund--because there's no phone service for customer support. Just their circular AI and a series of multiple choice options THAT DO NOT COVER ALL POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. They're obviously trying very hard to take ZERO responsibility for your failures. So please know that I will NEVER use UBER again. I'm so done with them that I'm copy-pasting this review anywhere else that I can and giving them as many 1-star ratings as humanly possible. read more

This is about the booking and pick-up. I requested an Uber and the app said a driver was 5 minutes away. After I clicked confirm it changed to 16 minutes. In my experience, if I try to cancel they will charge me because the driver started my way. This bait and switch is scammy. I've never used Lyft but after other problems with the app not recognizing pick-up locations and a driver recently going to the wrong pick-up spot and then charging a waiting fee for me to walk to him, I'm about ready to switch. read more

I want to report that I lost my iPhone in a Black Escalade, in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, March 21 2026. It was around 8:00pm. We were picked up from the Pentagon Mall and taken to a restaurant. I used Uber Eats for a delivery from Total Wine on 19 June. The driver never delivered so I requested a refund from Total Wine and one was processed on 24 June. I kept waiting for the refund to appear in my bank, so I went to Total Wine and the store gave me a print out of the refund and I called the Total Wine 800 number to inquire why the refund did not appear and was told that the refund was processed to Uber And I would have to contact Uber. So I contacted Uber and Uber said that since it had been more than 48 hours, Uber would not process a refund to me, even though Uber had received a refund of $115.90 for the order that was not delivered. So Uber pocketed the refund and refuses to give me the refund for their Lda oled delivery that I was charged for. Lesson learned - Uber is unethical could care less about the customer. I was hit in an intersection by an uber driver 8/18/24--tag in the window. He is denying that he ran a red light. Did he even try to stop or avoid hitting me? I tried contacting Uber, and they were easy enough to get ahold of, but they've done nothing. He just has some minor bumper damage, but my car may end up totaled because of the damage. I've been trying to get it ready to get vintage car plates in a few years. Only 58k miles on my 1st gen CR-V , and I am hyper vigillent when i drive--never rushing. We have a problem in Utah where people run red lights, and uber drivers are no exception. I left my cell phone in the Uber car, which I noticed two minutes after getting out of the car. I used my sister's phone to call my phone. After several call attempts the driver answered the phone. We decided her coming back to return the phone, but she told me she wasn't coming back to bring my phone because she had other pick ups and for me to call her in the evening to arrange for me to retrieve it. I noticed Mr Laval dropping a customer and asked if he was an Uber driver; he was. I told him I had left my phone in the call of another Uber driver. Mr Laval used HIS phone to connect me with Uber support, waited with me while the customer service rep took report, and advised of the next steps in the process to get my phone returned to me. Mind you while I was using his phone he had another fair that needed to be picked up in 9 minutes. When I brought the fair to his attention he told me that the focus at hand was to help me. To God be the glory for Vic's patience and kindness. Uber can be a great resource for transportation when needed. The company needs better quality control. Limo services and taxis have better vehicle and driver quality control. We have had uber drivers who were excellent and the drivers keeping up their cars. We have also had drivers who picked up in vehicles with vomit on the seat, missing seatbelts for passengers and broken bumpers. Lacking quality control means lacking accountability. To be honest, I've never had the highest opinion of Uber, but I do use it frequently. Over the last year, at least 25% of the time, a driver will accept me, get close, then suddenly cancel/disappear, and I have to wait for another driver to accept.
