Came to UCA terraza for their holiday pop up. The pop up had good reviews and lots of decor at the Santa Barbara event so we wanted to check out the LA location. Sadly decor was lack luster in comparison, drinks were good though. They had lots of holiday options but only a few came in holiday glasses. We ordered the christmapolitan and coconut hot chocolate. For food we tried the ceviche but had to request a plate of limes as the ceviche was lacking any flavor of acid. We both ordered tacos - steak and shrimp. They were fine but nothing spectacular. For dessert we got the chocoflan and surprised with churros for my birthday. The staff were very friendly and quick, great views but the food does not meet expectations.

Garage parking is $20 for weekday. No validation. Located inside Delphi hotel. In the lobby, go up the escalators and there you would take the elevators to the rooftop. The rooftop view is amazing! Cute spot to lounge, chill and drink. We ordered the steak tacos (recommended), ceviche, and torta burger. Steak Tacos - 0/5 - nothing about it was good. It wasn't even a handmade tortilla, no flavor on the meat, the pico de gallo was not tasty and the cheese made it worse. I tried adding salt and their special habanero sauce just to make it bearable to eat. Torta Burger - 4/5 - The burger is good and the Uca fries we loved more. Ceviche - 3/5 - it was good not the best. The ceviche came out warm and it's a bit questionable because normally it should come out as a cold dish. The admin fee is crazy. The gratuity on 2 guest! And it's not even 18% it's 20%! We wished we loved this place more but we can't. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

UCA is revitalizing the DTLA rooftop scene! We were told that the experience is modeled with Tulum vibes in mind and they definitely nailed it with a mix of the modern LA rooftop landscape. The servers are friendly, in a way that's warm and casual, not pretentious at all. The menu keeps it simple with organizing sections by small and large plates. Although deceptively small, our group couldn't even finish. The desserts are also so balanced - sweet and flavorful.

The views are spectacular with all the downtown buildings all around! The service lacks promptness and attentiveness. The food is good but not exceptional. The drinks are delicious! Cool music!

The food is yummy here that's for sure and the views are unbeatable! The way the sun hits the surrounding buildings before sunset is like a picture!! The staff are nice but they definitely are not bubbly or anything like that. The torta burger was sharable and the sauce for the fries.... omg yum!!! Will come again but it is a little "out of the way" in terms of location. Not really walkable to much else that I would be interested in visiting. Also, the miracle pop up imo is not in comparison to other miracle pop ups. If you're wanting that experience for miracle pick another option, but coming to UCA not during the holidays during regular season, I'd recommend.

Food 3/5 - The food had great presentation but it was just ok. My friend and I both had the shrimp (grilled shrimp) tacos which were cool but I wasn't wow'd or like I gotta come back for the food. I had a French 75 drink it was good. She had the dish that was like fries. Once again just ok and then we shared the tres leches cake which was actually really good but would've been better without the graham cracker cereal type topping lol. Service 5/5 - Marco aka Mark was that guy, periodt. He made recommendations. Stopped me from making a horrible menu decision and was very attentive. Great personality too. My type of service. Ambiance 5/5 - the view is gorgeousssss. It's a good date night or girls night situation. The sitting was comfortable and the decor was gorgeous. Let's just say ya girl was in her element!!

Glad I was able to try this spot. Definitely gives Tulum, vibes with the vibrancy of DTLA as your backdrop. Service was great, unlike many other rooftops, we don't feel rushed out of there. Our waitress Andrea was great. She seemed to know the menu and was breaking down some of the more popular drinks and some of her own favorites. We ordered the chipotle Cesar salad (added shrimp): 8/10; the guacamole, 10/10; ceviche 7.6/10; Uca fries 8/10; tacos gobernador 7/10; torta burger 10/10. For drinks, we had 3 glasses of the street mango drink, fair to say it was a 10/10. Not too sweet, or too strong. Overall, really enjoyed our experience and will be coming back for the vibes! Also, parking was pretty accessible, and it was just an elevator ride up to the restaurant.

The newly remodeled rooftop bar is modern with amazing views! Food is tasty and comes out freshly made, complimenting the drink options. Both fish and carnitas tacos were flavorful and filling. A slight crunch on the tortilla, making for a great vehicle for the mix of ingredients. All their drinks were great especially the Palmer! Our server was excellent, continuously checking in on us. Great place to catch up in downtown

Use to be called "standard" Which was a cool spot. But they really remodeled this roof top well. Parking is easy. Located in the back of the building. Elevator to the restaurant is located on the second floor up the stairs when you enter. There's a hostess at the elevator. Makes it feel more like a NYC/Manhattan lounge/restaurant. Price is actually pretty amazing. As in not very expensive. Food portions are very fair. With some being medium to some sides being A LOT which is great. I tried a few things. Steak tacos Beans Guacamole Let's start with the tacos. More of an American style taco but with great flavor. Meat is marinated well. It's not overly salted or peppered. Portion is good with 3. Display was great. Beans. Pretty average but tastes good. Guacamole. Nothing overly complicated. THANK GOD. It's so annoying when places complicate the simplest things. And they did not do that with the guacamole. Would I recommend this place? Most definitely. The atmosphere is more young. Upper class. The food is good. Not AMAZING but definitely worth a return. Pool area is fantastic. Staff was awesome. If you like a good roof top pool with food? Highly recommend. Enjoy! Food: above average Staff: no issues Cleanliness: very well Decor: new and remodeled Bathrooms: very clean

This place very cute. It has the perfect amount of intimacy. It's very lively, but doesn't feel too crowded. However, a reservation is highly encouraged. The services pretty good and the food is what you would expect. On Thursdays there is a live jazz band. That's very good and it makes for a good ambience. THE PARKING SITUATION IS SO BAD ! But what else would you expect for downtown? Would come here again

The atmosphere/ view is really nice at both daytime and night. The seating area the offer is both lounge style, bar seating, and table seating. All of the employees were super nice and helpful on making recommendations. The food was good the only dish we thought could've been better was the tacos gobernador as it was lacking cheese and shrimp pieces. The drinks were good they aren't your ordinary cocktails as these both had unique ingredients. I would definitely recommend this restraunt for a date night or a birthday dinner or just to grab a quick bite and drinks at the bar. Also just a heads up free parking is hard to find so you kind of have no choice to either Uber and get dropped off or pay $25 for parking.

Always looking for new places to try, and came across a new rooftop, open air restaurant in DTLA named Uca Terraza. And it is hard for me to pass up a rooftop spot. So I made a reservation, ran some errands then headed over to see what the vibe was all about. There is a parking lot right outside, though it is $20 for a day pass, so probably park somewhere else nearby for a better price. Or you can probably valet at the Delphi hotel, as Uca is on the rooftop of the hotel. Once you get out of the elevator, take a few steps and you're greeted by the host. We were able to get seated right away with our reservation, yet there were still plenty of people already on the patio on a Tuesday night. The vibe is like a garden in Playa del Carmen or Tulum. Just very chill, table and couch seating with views of downtown all around you. We started out with cocktails: Daydream in Tulum and a mango forward cocktail. The Daydream was very nice, great flavor with the spiced rum adding a nuance to the drink. The mango cocktail was also complex yet subtle, refreshing... with that hint of spice. For food, we tried a couple items, based on our servers' recommendations. We started with the ceviche which had ample amount of fish and shrimp, yet was not overpowered by the citrus, which I feel is common. Here, the different flavors were allowed to shine. The queso fundido with pork longaniza and oaxaca cheese was also very nice. We also ordered the three steak tacos and pollo pibil. The move was, shredding the pollo, placing it in the tortillas that came with the chicken, and putting some of the queso fundido on top. Just a flavor explosion in your mouth. The chicken, itself, felt a little dry inside, but covered with the queso was perfect. The tacos, also, were decent, but can't say they really stood out. Overall, good experience. Service was fine, drinks were great, and that queso on top of the chicken in a taco was magic. Just a heads up, they do charge a mandatory 20% gratuity on your bill, plus a 5% "administrative fee", which you can have taken off, and I suggest you do. Definitely a nice vibe, good for a date night or just spending time with friends.

Christmas decor by the restrooms in the pool area

Found out about this place through miraclepopup.com and wanted to try another Christmas pop-up bar. My only other experience with Miracle was at Patrick Malloy's in Hermosa Beach, so I was expecting a whole bunch of Christmas decorations. They had some but not as over the top as Patrick Malloy's so that was a little disappointing. But they had the standard Miracle cocktail menu, so I was happy to get my favorite, the Snowball Old Fashioned. View is amazing! We sat around 8:30pm, and the view reminded me of being in New York City but less noisy. We had the guacamole, torta burger, and the steak tacos. Guacamole was good, chips were OK as a couple were soggy. Burger was inside torta buns so that was cool. I liked the steak tacos and had no complaints Server was nice. The runner was even nicer. Training might be needed as the server kept squeezing past my friend's chair which had a narrow gap between the chair and a concrete column, which could have been avoided by just going around the column on the other side. Also, the hostess didnt even say "thank you" as we walked out. The desk staff at my gym say something nice when I leave the gym so I would expect a nice lounge to do the same just to keep the energy positive. Not sure of the vibe the restaurant was going for but the entire staff was dressed super casual -- reminded me of people dressed to just go to the mall for a quick shopping trip. I will come back for sure as I like the view and the burger. Looking forward to trying their normal cocktail menu as it wasn't available due to this being a Miracle Pop Up bar night.

The first time I went on a weekday in the middle of the day, so it was super empty and not the best because nothing was being made fresh- the meats and potatoes were kind of just sitting in bins so although the flavor was there, the cooled down temperatures really affected the taste. HOWEVER, I visited a few more times after that, these times all late at night, which really turned my experience around. I think at those times there were a lot more people and long lines, so everything was being made fresh and it being hot just made the food taste so so much better. I love how the toppings are all self-serve, and the hot potato is my favorite side. Carne asada, lengua, and al pastor are my go-tos. You'll want to add hellaaa green sauce to everything- I could literally drink that stuff straight. For for first timers, I'd recommend ordering the Villa's Trio which is what I got. Those come with the Ranchera Asada quesotaco as well as the Papas con Chorizo and Black Bean con Pollo quesotacos which are a trio exclusive. All the tacos were meaty, flavorful, and crispy. You honestly don't even need the side sauces since the tacos are already flavorful on their own. Great quality. I also got the Watermelon Agua Fresca which was refreshing, tasty, and sweet. Goes well with the tacos. I also got the Jamaica Agua Fresca, but that one was a bit too tart for my liking. The line can get long, so I would prepare to wait for up to an hour on weekends. There's ample free parking at the grocery store lot nearby. For seating and tables, it's limited and competitive. You just have to get lucky if a spot clears up as soon as you get your food. I also like how the restaurant handles crowd control. They allow a couple of people at a time to go inside, order, and get their condiments. You wait outside until they call you for your food. I like that it didn't feel crowded while I was getting my condiments. I highly recommend this spot and I will definitely be coming back.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

The tacos were loaded with a pretty decent amount of meat and toppings. But sadly we were far from impressed by the flavor. The asada was okay and better than the tripa, but it paled in comparison to our go-to taco trucks in the area which only costs $1. And the tripa was strange to eat in taco form. The tripa is crunchy small pieces so it just feels odd to eat in a taco. Maybe if it was just served as an appetizer to eat by itself, but even then, it kinda just feels like you're eating pellets. Don't see the hype unfortunately.
