I believe jazz in your ears on a rooftop is such a great idea...I'm telling you! And the place was dim lighted, making it beautifully charming and relaxed. We ordered drinks. We ordered multiple plates and shared among us. Tacos, ceviche, chipotle Caesar salad with steak, guacamole with their house made chips, queso fundido, Uca fries. I wouldn't say the food was top tier but I did enjoy the salad, and the Uca fries. Nonetheless, the ambience, space, and service was up to par! Of course, I will be back for jazz night and drinks. The service and general vibe this establishment attempts to portray is cringey and off putting. My colleagues and I walked up to the stand to ask if we could get a drink at the bar. The attendant asked if we had a reservation as it was "for VIPs only". We did not, so the attendant checked via text message with whomever was at the bar. Within 30 seconds we were on our way up to the rooftop where not a single table was filled. It was pretty laughable. As for the drinks, I can only speak to how uninspiring the old fashioned was. Understand that it was off menu, but it's not a difficult drink to make. It simply tasted off. I will say that the canned beer was good. Hard to mess up! They have Jazz and live music nights. I came here for an event. Nice vibes. I believe the bar manager's name was Rivin, and I want to recognize him for how he handled a less-than-ideal situation. Initially, I was disappointed with the service, as I had to search for our server multiple times and request a glass of water on three separate occasions. Although I had ordered both a drink and water, only the drink was delivered. Despite being automatically charged gratuity--which I'm generally happy to pay--the lack of follow-through and having to repeatedly track down the server was frustrating. Rivin stepped in, apologized sincerely, and took the time to explain the situation. He made a genuine effort to make things right, and it was clear he was working hard to support the team while maintaining a high level of professionalism. His attentiveness and care did not go unnoticed. Overall, the venue itself is beautiful, with breathtaking views, great music, and a fantastic jazz atmosphere on a Thursday night. Came to UCA terraza for their holiday pop up. The pop up had good reviews and lots of decor at the Santa Barbara event so we wanted to check out the LA location. Sadly decor was lack luster in comparison, drinks were good though. They had lots of holiday options but only a few came in holiday glasses. We ordered the christmapolitan and coconut hot chocolate. For food we tried the ceviche but had to request a plate of limes as the ceviche was lacking any flavor of acid. We both ordered tacos - steak and shrimp. They were fine but nothing spectacular. UCA is revitalizing the DTLA rooftop scene! We were told that the experience is modeled with Tulum vibes in mind and they definitely nailed it with a mix of the modern LA rooftop landscape. Glad I was able to try this spot. Definitely gives Tulum, vibes with the vibrancy of DTLA as your backdrop. Service was great, unlike many other rooftops, we don't feel rushed out of there. Our waitress Andrea was great. She seemed to know the menu and was breaking down some of the more popular drinks and some of her own favorites. We ordered the chipotle Cesar salad (added shrimp): 8/10; the guacamole, 10/10; ceviche 7.6/10; Uca fries 8/10; tacos gobernador 7/10; torta burger 10/10. Display was great. Beans. Pretty average but tastes good. Guacamole. Nothing overly complicated. THANK GOD. It's so annoying when places complicate the simplest things. The atmosphere/ view is really nice at both daytime and night. The seating area the offer is both lounge style, bar seating, and table seating. All of the employees were super nice and helpful on making recommendations. The food was good the only dish we thought could've been better was the tacos gobernador as it was lacking cheese and shrimp pieces. The drinks were good they aren't your ordinary cocktails as these both had unique ingredients. I would definitely recommend this restraunt for a date night or a birthday dinner or just to grab a quick bite and drinks at the bar. It wasn't even a handmade tortilla, no flavor on the meat, the pico de gallo was not tasty and the cheese made it worse. I tried adding salt and their special habanero sauce just to make it bearable to eat. Torta Burger - 4/5 - The burger is good and the Uca fries we loved more. Ceviche - 3/5 - it was good not the best. The ceviche came out warm and it's a bit questionable because normally it should come out as a cold dish. The admin fee is crazy. The gratuity on 2 guest! Always looking for new places to try, and came across a new rooftop, open air restaurant in DTLA named Uca Terraza. And it is hard for me to pass up a rooftop spot. So I made a reservation, ran some errands then headed over to see what the vibe was all about. There is a parking lot right outside, though it is $20 for a day pass, so probably park somewhere else nearby for a better price. Or you can probably valet at the Delphi hotel, as Uca is on the rooftop of the hotel. Once you get out of the elevator, take a few steps and you're greeted by the host. We were able to get seated right away with our reservation, yet there were still plenty of people already on the patio on a Tuesday night. The vibe is like a garden in Playa del Carmen or Tulum. Just very chill, table and couch seating with views of downtown all around you. We started out with cocktails: Daydream in Tulum and a mango forward cocktail. The Daydream was very nice, great flavor with the spiced rum adding a nuance to the drink. The mango cocktail was also complex yet subtle, refreshing... with that hint of spice. For food, we tried a couple items, based on our servers' recommendations. We started with the ceviche which had ample amount of fish and shrimp, yet was not overpowered by the citrus, which I feel is common. Here, the different flavors were allowed to shine. The queso fundido with pork longaniza and oaxaca cheese was also very nice. We also ordered the three steak tacos and pollo pibil. The move was, shredding the pollo, placing it in the tortillas that came with the chicken, and putting some of the queso fundido on top. Just a flavor explosion in your mouth. The chicken, itself, felt a little dry inside, but covered with the queso was perfect. The tacos, also, were decent, but can't say they really stood out. Overall, good experience. Service was fine, drinks were great, and that queso on top of the chicken in a taco was magic. Just a heads up, they do charge a mandatory 20% gratuity on your bill, plus a 5% "administrative fee", which you can have taken off, and I suggest you do. Manager Jem was extremely rude immediately when we checked in to get seated and kept brushing us off to go sit at the bar when there were ample tables available. We kept reiterating we wanted a table and he didn't want to give it to us, then to top it off as soon as we sat down he took away our plates. When I confronted him on the experience he brushed me off and didn't even let me get my point across. He kept cutting me off and just made the entire experience horrible. I've been here twice and the ambience/food/drinks were great. The second time though, what really ruined my vibe was the manager Jem. It was a Tuesday night and there were so many tables. Upon getting up to the roof the manager tried to hurry us off to the corner bar when we said we came here for drinks and maybe food. He just took that as we weren't eating, period. I had to argue for them to even sit us at a table and when we finally got one, Jem immediately took our plates away. We tried to confront him that his behavior was not right and he brushed us off like everything was our fault. Also - this establishment does automatic 20% gratuity when all we got was 3 glasses of wine. Such an unfortunate situation since the ambiance and food were great. This place has potential. Found out about this place through miraclepopup.com and wanted to try another Christmas pop-up bar. My only other experience with Miracle was at Patrick Malloy's in Hermosa Beach, so I was expecting a whole bunch of Christmas decorations. They had some but not as over the top as Patrick Malloy's so that was a little disappointing. But they had the standard Miracle cocktail menu, so I was happy to get my favorite, the Snowball Old Fashioned. View is amazing! We sat around 8:30pm, and the view reminded me of being in New York City but less noisy. We had the guacamole, torta burger, and the steak tacos. Guacamole was good, chips were OK as a couple were soggy. Burger was inside torta buns so that was cool. I liked the steak tacos and had no complaints Server was nice. The runner was even nicer. Training might be needed as the server kept squeezing past my friend's chair which had a narrow gap between the chair and a concrete column, which could have been avoided by just going around the column on the other side. Also, the hostess didnt even say "thank you" as we walked out. The desk staff at my gym say something nice when I leave the gym so I would expect a nice lounge to do the same just to keep the energy positive. Not sure of the vibe the restaurant was going for but the entire staff was dressed super casual -- reminded me of people dressed to just go to the mall for a quick shopping trip. I will come back for sure as I like the view and the burger. Looking forward to trying their normal cocktail menu as it wasn't available due to this being a Miracle Pop Up bar night. read more

Arrived on time for our reservation, were about to be seated when I noticed a table I preferred for our party of 4- I asked if we could wait for that table and they said "oh no its still being used. See how theres water in the glasses?" .... There were no personal items anywhere around but Im not one to be dramatic so I just smiled and said okay. Sat in the table they designated. (My reservation had requested one of the corner tables but it was ignored- we were seated in the middle). Immediately they come to clear out the table I had asked for- and gave it to another party about an hour later.... The service sucked. We were told it was a 2 hour seating limit which was completely fine- except that it regularly took between 20-30 minutes for our server to come check on us. When we finally ordered two plates came together- and the other two came about 20 minutes later- which meant half our party had to eat cold food. The food itself is actually good. The view is beautiful- but the service is so bad. Would recommend Cara Cara down the street for a much better experience. read more

This used to be the Standard rooftop! We all have memories (some hazier than others) here, so a few girlfriends and I were looking forward to checking it out after work to see the changes. We were all impressed by how cleaned-up this place is. The large cushions/daybeds are gone, and the space is now a pretty, upscale rooftop restaurant with a completely different vibe. Views are amazing as always, and a live jazz band started setting up at around the time we left (8 on a Thursday). I was disappointed that they didn't have a happy hour. My office does a lot of group happy hours, and it would have been fun to explore a new spot. We shared the mushroom queso fundido, guacamole, Caesar salad, and then ordered our own dishes... I went with the steak tacos. The mushroom queso fundido was probably my fave! Everything else was fine but seemed pretty overpriced. Although the tacos were loaded with juicy steak, I don't think I'd be excited to order them again for what I paid for basic steak tacos. My friend really liked the mango cocktail and stuck with those. I tried a Conejo Dorado (tequila, curry and tunmeric, carrot juice) which was interesting but I couldn't taste much tequila, so I switched a wine. It's a great alternative to sweet drinks though; a quality savory drink is hard to find! I don't know if I'd come back after work when there are so many happy hours in the area, and I hope they implement one someday! I'd definitely go back for a cocktail and live music. I was excited to try this new place because I love a rooftop and I had heard good things about it. They did not disappoint. The views are very cool, being in the heart of DTLA. I accidentally made a reservation for a week after we wanted to go. But the host and all of our servers were able to graciously handle our party of 6 and get us seated quickly. The drinks were compelling and the food was tasty. The presentation for the Char Ritual cocktail was especially charming and my bf was very happy with the chicken pibil dish. It's not a huge menu so the vegetarian in our party ordered several appetizers to make his meal. read more

The two stars are entirely for the mushroom queso and the ambiance. The rooftop itself is gorgeous and a really lovely space with a beautiful atmosphere and great views. It feels like it should be a great spot for a relaxed drink or sunset hang. Unfortunately, the service made the experience pretty uncomfortable. The man who sat us was very cold from the start. He never smiled and seemed irritated the entire time we were there. I noticed him wandering around the restaurant throughout our visit (maybe he was a manager??) but he always looked annoyed and unapproachable. Our server, Mark, was honestly bizarre. When I asked for a recommendation between two menu items, he just repeated exactly what the menu said instead of offering any guidance. It felt like he either didn't know the menu at all or simply didn't care. He also spoke very quietly and mumbled quite a bit, which made him hard to understand. He would stare at me blankly and try to make jokes but was so weird about it. He had a lovely accent, but between the mumbling, odd disposition and the lack of helpfulness, the interaction was just awkward and off-putting. The mushroom queso, however, was phenomenal! Easily the best thing we had. Unfortunately, my Tuna Niçoise salad was very disappointing and incredibly bland. I'd recommend coming here for drinks only if you're already staying at the hotel, mainly to enjoy the rooftop atmosphere. But for food, service, and overall hospitality, you can find much better experiences almost anywhere else. The serving size was tiny, the steak was not flavorful, there was a tiny serving of pico de gallo on the taco, and even the tortilla was poor quality. Ordered beans and yucca frites as sides, and while the yucca frites were good, the beans were bland. The entrance to the restaurant is a shared service elevator with the hotel, which causes long wait times when entering or exiting. Aside from the nice rooftop location, this restaurant has nothing going for it. Would choose another DTLA rooftop location like Perch or Cara Cara over this place any day. read more

Gave me water in a cap size cup lol The cilantro lime rice was dry and all was over priced for what I ordered. We had a group of us and a reservation. We understood we had to pay 45$ per person in order to even make the reservation. Unfortunately it was very busy, and I am unsure if the restaurant was understaffed or just really slow but the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. Once we got our food, it wasn't that good. We are paying a pretty premium price, and our chips for the guacamole were stale. The line for the bar was super long, so I asked if our server could please get me another drink through my tab at the bar. She made an irritated face, and closed my tab for me when I didn't even ask to close it after bringing me my drink. During our dinner we went to go take pictures, and someone came over after a bit to flag us down saying that they needed to clean up our table to seat other people so we needed to come back to pay our tab. They said they usually have a time limit of two hours per table and we have been here for three and a half so they have been more than accommodating. Mind you, never our hostess, our server, the menu, or when we made the reservation no where did it give a reminder of this time limit. We apologized and immediately went back to close our tab. Server checked us out, seemingly annoyed, and we noticed they auto added gratuity on our tab. Which is okay, we were a table of five but yet again no where on the menu or anything told auto gratuity would be added. Overall, the jazz night we came for and the person hosting was super kind and was a cool band, but I would not come back simply because the restaurant was so awful.
