Their Eggs Ben Who doesn't like an all-day breakfast joint especially when they deliver. These eggs run pretty well on top. Damn. That was pretty good. Drinks-wise, they're stocked anywhere from your coffee, tea... to alcoholic beverages. They also serve a nice collection of desserts. I dig their Blueberry Cheesecake. Meanwhile, their WiFi here sucks though. They might be filtering only for FB and IG. Not mobile-office friendly. Globe connection sucks too. Can barely get LTE. Not to mention, a good data connection on 3G. But yah, great to chill and meet at, not to work on a laptop at. They only have one restroom. Just go when it's not too late so you don't have to do the dance when you really have to go. Other than that, cool spot if CBTL is a hassle as its too cold and no restroom available within it, or if Starbucks is too packed and you want to sit down and chill.

As a person who is not especially knowledgeable about different kinds of coffee (as long as it gives me a buzz, I'll drink it!), places like UCC Clockwork make the whole 3rd wave coffee movement more accessible for me. The servers are knowledgeable in explaining the difference between the different coffee waves, and I like that they even tell me which dishes are their personal favorites on the menu. I hope that they keep this up! The Judy on the Rocks was a savior on this hot summer day. I love the strong cold coffee, topped with cream and the sugar on the side (for those of us who don't like our coffee too sweet). As for the food, UCC Clockwork's concept is all about 'international comfort food.' I especially enjoy their spin on pastas - their Ouvo y Nero pasta is an especially well done squid ink pasta. They serve it with a fresh smattering of ebiko on top, and a lemon wedge to neutralize the fishy taste. They also just rolled out their Adobo Flakes pasta, which is basically heaven for anyone who loves poached eggs and adobo flakes. The adobo is cooked in a way that is slightly sweet, and goes especially well with the egg. You also cannot leave without trying their Creme Brulee Cakes, my personal favorite being the mango variant. I'm quite pleased to have had a great experience at the newly-opened UCC Clockwork at Estancia and hope that they keep up the quality of the service, food and beverages here!

I just got back from a super fun dinner with two of my friends from UCC Clockwork in Estancia. It was my first time so I was pretty excited to check out the place. I've never gotten to try UCC prior to my visit at UCC Clockwork but I have heard rave reviews about it. Just this morning, I checked out their menu online and really thought about what I should order. I mean, their menu compromises of slightly more expensive grub so I had to make the right choice. When I first entered UCC Clockwork, I super appreciated the interior decors. It was simple but sophisticated, a bit rustic but still pretty modern. The combination of light wood panels with gray cement definitely lent the place a dash of chic. It didn't have the usual cafe interiors although they do have two couches for people who wanted to sit back, drink and maybe read a book. But mostly, the cafe had tables and chairs, perfect for group meetings, group chat sessions or just grabbing some grub. The menu was extensive. They offered a wide array of appetizers, pastas, sandwiches, entrees and desserts! I have to be honest, looking at the menu made my head spin a little. Adobo Floss pasta, Rosemary Chicken, Chicken Pak!, Cookie Shots, Grilled Cheese Sandwich. I mean, come on! I had to look at the menu about a hundred times before placing my order! And I even had prior research done! When I finally decided (after 15 minutes, I'm not kidding), I ordered their Fisherman's Fried Rice. It was a pretty bold move for me as I wasn't a big Aligue fan. The plating was gorge - absolutely #instaworthy. The taste, however, didn't really impress me. It was basically fried rice mixed with some minced Aligue topped with fried egg. Nothing special about it, really. But my friend, Julio, enjoyed the dish more than myself. He basically finished it off! I guess this particular dish was just not for me. I also got to try out their Adobo Floss pasta. Now this one was a total winner! The pasta, I think, could be a comfort food for some. It had the right amount of savoury goodness adobo is known for. I've tasted Cookbook's Adobo Spaghetti and I think UCC's is better. Of course I had to check out UCC's coffee. They've got a bunch (and I mean a bunch!) of different caffeinated drinks so I suggest asking the barista about it before ordering. I tried out their "Judy on the Rocks" and loved it! 5 out of 5 for me! You know how Happy Lemon serves their rock salt with cheese series? Well, this is kind of UCC's take on it - but with legit charcoal roasted coffee. IT. WAS. THE. BOMB. Definitely coming back for that! If you ever happen to have a date night or just want to chill out and have #kapihanhits with your friends, visit UCC Clockwork. It's got great food, great ambience and even greater coffee. What more can you ask for?!

There aren't a lot of good brunch places in town and this one is a pretty good spot. It's located at the ground floor facing the street so it's pretty easy to find. This outlet is a bit smaller than the one in Blue Bay. But it's got a similar vibe and menu. To drink there is of course a great range of coffees. And they have interesting mixes like Bulletproof coffee (with butter and coconut oil) and flavored coffees, so there's always something new to try. There are also a lot of alcoholic drinks here. Try the yummy coffee based ones! They're really strong. They also have good cold pressed juices which are a healthier choice! Food wise, you can expect a lot of comfort eats. Like eggs, pasta, burgers, and the like. The food is pretty decent! If you want to catch up on some work, too, it's a good place to get some work done!

Walked in last weekend during a crazy downpour, dripping wet, and the barista just smiled, handed me a towel to dry off, and asked what I felt like without any rush. Ended up with their single-origin pour-over--Ethiopian this time--and it was bright, juicy, and perfectly balanced, like every sip reminded me why I fell in love with coffee in the first place. Sat by the window watching the rain hammer Pasong Tamo, worked on my laptop for hours with zero pressure to leave. The space is still that perfect mix of raw concrete and warm light, never too crowded, always calm. Staff remembered my usual order even though it's been months since I last dropped by. Five stars, easily--still one of the most consistently great coffee experiences in Manila.

It's good but I would appreciate it more if they served it in a larger cup and charge P150 and not a small cup and charge P140. I had the fig grilled cheese and it was kind of plain, it's not bad, but just nothing exciting for me. I was kinda disappointed since I was so looking forward to trying this coffee shop.

My friends ordered Iced Mocha, Iced Black, Cold Brew, Strawberry Frappe and Ube cake. As for me and my posh friend, I ordered Sumatra while he ordered Civet coffee. Love the beans that they are using even for their regular coffee drinks. But let me describe my order. I love Sumatra because it is not that bold and not that bitter. It's a little sweet, a bit acidic and fruity in flavor. So if you are in San Juan area and looking for a different cafe or different drink of coffee, checkout Backyard Coffee and try their single origin coffee beans.

I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. Located above the Rustan's Supermarket on P. Guevarra, the café is quiet compared to the busy street below and gets tons of natural light from the building's all-glass facade. Great plus for me as it made the place have a very airy feel which went great with the painted concrete floors and industrial seating. The coffee was great too! I got their cold-brew coffee and it was a solid cup of cold-brew. Nothing out of the ordinary but it wasn't offensive. The price was great though! At least 30 pesos less than a comparable brew from one of the third wave stalwarts. They also have a lot of differently sourced beans to choose from, with even a Filipino Benguet option! So even though it might not have same pretentious or hipster vibes that we have come to expect from many of the other third wave purveyors here in Manila, I love how laidback this place is. You can definitely get a lot done here. Cash only!! There are ATMs downstairs though if you're in a pickle.

It's this little cafe found at the lobby of the hotel that comes with the stay: they had great food and impeccable service! The workers were very friendly and entertained my brothers and I in our endeavor to speak more Tagalog to them (our Tagalog is very choppy haha). They were very understanding and attentive throughout our whole breakfast stay! One tip I could give is to arrive there sooner rather than later for breakfast if you want their Beef Tapsilog. We got there around 9ish (they open at 7) and I wanted to order it but they were unfortunately already out by that time we got there. I ended up ordering their Japanese Gyudon and it was pretty good! The meat was slightly under-seasoned but as a whole with the ginger and rice it was a pretty good dish! They were also kind enough to put the egg on the side for me given my allergy too which is great! Overall a great breakfast experience with great service and good food!!

The first day I had the pork longanisa with garlic fried rice and a sunny side up egg. The breakfast buffet area had assorted breads and jams, two hot plate items (usually vegetarian) dessert, cereal, salad and fresh fruit. The second day I had their chicken adobe with garlic rice and a sunny side egg. Both meals were delicious and the sides were great as wells. The pricing I think is on par with breakfasts you would normally experience in the US and Canada. Approx $20 CAD a person or $800pp. They dont have prices on their menu so this is an estimate :) The service was exceptional. I felt very welcomed by the staff and they were always super helpful. I would recommend staying in this hotel and try their food!
