Let me start by saying Oprah has listed Uggs & Kisses on her "Oprah's favourite things" list five times.
Say what? Five times. Why?
Check out the photographs I took in the shop and after you have stopped laughing you will appreciate that if anyone is going to be wearing these wonderful things, they may as well be into comfort over glamour; with a touch of glamour thrown in just for the sheer heck of it. Ugg boots have been given a poor rap since they were invented back in the early days. They are shoes made from sheep skin with the wool left on... on the inside.
I find them completely wonderful and practical especially in winter when you really want warm feet but need low electricity bills. These ones at Uggs & Kisses are very nice, well thought out Ugg boots. The shop is small but nice and Michael, the man who operates it, will happily help you try things on or discuss options with you.
These days there are more options than there used to be that is for sure. Once there was one kind of Ugg boot and that was that. But now there are a variety and I'm pleased to say it's all good. I understand why Oprah loves the Ugg boots, it is not for me to try and convince you to love anything, but if you like a bit of a laugh and something different, add Uggs & Kisses to your list of shops to check out in Adelaide sometime soon.
Practical as they are, Ugg boots continued to get bad press all through the last few decades. Imagine that! The dreadful fashion that was around during the disco years of the late nineteen seventies and early eighties, all that beige and all those padded shoulders and something as practical as Ugg boots ends up getting bad press!
Check out this little store - bring your hard earned cash - get something for winter... You will love the options available. If you are over 50 years old you will have the biggest giggle you've had in ages - if you are younger than that you will wonder why anyone ever gave these feet warmers a bad rap. I mean really take a look at knitted leg warmers (check out the original movie "Fame") or white head bands (Olivia's "Physical" video clip) and they give Ugg boots the bad rap!!
Oprah is right! If they had had leg warmers back when they were writing songs for "The Sound of Music" Julie Andrews would have been including these Ugg boots on her list of Favourite Things as well... you know... "raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens, big wooly Ugg Boots and warm wollen mittens..." I kid you not! read more
