Biesy is a very cool restaurant underground in the Old Town. It has been converted into a…read morerestaurant from the old tunnels where the Jewish people hid. The decorations inside are very neat with lots of mirrors and it definitely still feels like tunnels and you can see the parts where they have been closed off. The menu is super cute and lists items based on the seven deadly sins. The food is also excellent and a great spot for the famous Polish potato pancakes. We also got Apple Pie drinks which are apple juice with the famous Żubrówka (Bison Grass Vodka) that tastes like cinnamon spice. The drink really tastes like apple pie!!! This place is definitely a good spot for a chill and cozy Polish dinner in Lublin.

Not just pink and undercooked, it was raw, tough, and impossible to chew. My companion had to discreetly spit it into a napkin. I reported the issue to the staff. The waitress offered to replace the dish, but since the rest of it had already been eaten, I simply asked her to inform the kitchen. This was a real food safety issue, raw pork can pose a serious health risk. What's even more disappointing is that no discount or clear response was offered. The full bill was issued as if nothing had happened. Given the seriousness of the situation and the potential risk of food poisoning for other guests, I'm considering reporting the incident to the appropriate authorities. Not every customer may notice the problem in time and it only takes one case for things to end badly. The place has atmosphere and the food looks appealing, but if safety and accountability are treated lightly, unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. With two glasses of white wine, we ordered a spinach and pear salad to start and share which was massive and delicious. Then we had pasta dishes of fresh spinach and ricotta ravioli and spaghetti with tomatoes and shrimp. Everything was very yummy and very worth the price. There is a blind piano player here who plays each night and he is very talented. So the restaurant is quiet and peaceful with piano playing in the background. Czarcia Łapa is a wonderful place for an elegant evening with delicious food!
Actually not even worth a star BUT we talked with the…read moremanager which invited us for dessert because of our concerns. We choose the local as one of us has been to this location years ago. Actually not sure if the whole concept changed, the name of the local is the same. BUT the furniture - style - menu was different. About our dinner - we showed up late - it wasn't busy at all. We could choose our seats. We've got the card which was just one huge card - not handy. Difficult to choose as mainly very, very small variety for vegetarians. After getting our drinks we were ready to order appetizer & also main dishes. We've waited 45min!!! for the appetizer in an empty local but with way too much waiter hanging around the bar or eating. After getting the appetizer we've mentioned our main dishes to be served asap. BUT regretful the food came 90min after ordering. It wasn't really tasteful! My pizza which was one of the few dishes suitable for vegetarians was not good at all (picture). We've mentioned our discomfort 4-times to the waiter getting at the end next to laughing a comment to come down! After this we wanted to talk to the manager or person in charge asking again 3-times. After manager came over being open for our concerns - she made some huge mistakes trying to explain and telling she saw our food coming earlier - what wasn't right! And for sure not the right time talking about it. Also our concerns about the dirty toilet - no toilet paper- broken water-tap & broken handdryer after 30min nothing changed. She invited us for a dessert. Right now the only positive thing I can say about the local is the dessert.

The food is really affordable; 15 - 18 PLN (around $4 - 5 USD) for a filling main dish. Warning for those who don't speak Polish: there's no English menu, and the servers didn't speak English when we visited. But if you're familiar with a few of the food words (and/or you have Google translate), it's not too hard to decipher. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to you. The vibe inside is cute and chill, and the person behind the counter was very friendly, even though we didn't know enough to communicate well with her. They also sell juice, which we didn't try. We tried the dish of the day, which was potato pancakes with a veggie stew and a cup of soup (they let us pick which soup we wanted, and we had a really delicious mushroom soup.) We also tried the "cutlet", which is basically a veggie patty, served with buckwheat and a couple of salads. You can pick what kind of cutlet you want, and I got one made with spinach. It tasted great! The menu is 100% vegetarian and mostly vegan. The vegan dishes are marked - I think. This didn't happen to us (so far as I know? maybe the cream served with my cutlet was dairy?) but a couple of users on Happy Cow have complained that they were served dairy by accident when ordering vegan food. So if you're a strict vegan, be careful!
