No assurance or discussion on how to keep it out of the other eye - all I was told was live with it. Eyesight is important to me, my grandmother was blind and I know how hard it is too live that way. I have never left a doctor's office feeling so low, so unheard or not cared about. Maybe he was having a bad day, certainly now I am too.

Since we moved to Florida he had to find another doctor to do the second eye, and he somehow chose Dr. Murray. After the surgery he couldn't see as well as before. She kept him coming back month after month for appointments for over a year and just kept "checking" but didn't do anything to correct the problem. We live in Destin, and he was driving for over an hour to get to her office so it wasn't convenient. Once she had him come into the office to tell him that they had new equipment, but they didn't know how to use it until they got training from the salesperson so they would have to reschedule him for another day. They could have told him that on the phone and saved about 3 hours of driving. She kept saying that if the surgery didn't work, she would re-do it. But she never did. She just kept checking and checking. After a year he just stopped going to appointments. When he went to get glasses the opthalmologist said he has astigmatism so bad that his vision cannot be corrected with glasses, and he said it WAS CAUSED BY THE SURGERY. Dr. Aldred did a very thorough direct examination of my eyes. I left feeling so relieved. Some things to keep in mind about Dr. Aldred: He is a retina and vitreous specialist. If you have a retina tear, which can lead to a detached retina, you need emergency care. If you have a detached retina, you need extremely fast emergency care. Should you have to languish in the waiting room or if Dr. Aldred exits the exam room suddenly, he is most likely going to help save someone's vision. I had a retinal tear repaired about 12 years ago and still have good vision, thanks to emergency laser treatment. Dr. Aldred wears operating scrubs, so he is at the ready. They saved my vision…read more I went to my regular eye appointment at 2:00 pm. Dr Corredor, OR with Terrezza's office compared my photos of my eyes that they had just taken & then compared them to last years. That's when he immediately said "this doesn't look right to me". Dr Corredor, OD immediately referred me to Retina Specialty Institute. Because of the severity of my right eye, they got me in in less than 30 minutes. He took care of me so well. So I then arrived to Retina Specialty Institute statute. I waited less than 10 minutes before they called me back. According to Dr Ahmet Ozkok, MD, It turned out that my right eyes's retina had torn/detached in a horse shoe type pattern. I believe he said it was 80% detached. He immediately did a type of laser procedure. He made sure to add numbing drops first. And when I cried, he would stop and calm me down. I cried because apparently I'm just a baby! He has a wonderful bedside manner. I may be older - but I was still so scared. He gave me very specific instructions and the staff stayed late because of my procedure. Everyone was so very nice & patient with me. Dr Oscar Corredor, OD (Terrezza's Optical) and Dr Ahmet Ozkok MD (Retina Specialty Institute) saved my vision. Because this happened late on a Friday afternoon. Had they not cared about me - I would have ended up in emergency surgery over the weekend. I love both these doctors and I know you will too.
