Overall, we only have positively glowing things to say about the staff we all had. One thing to note, if you have specific preferences about massages, please be honest. If you get a facial, they will recommend products to purchase. I didn't feel obligated or pressured to purchase these things, but overall loved the input and specialization to my facial for my specific skin type. You do get robes and flip flops, but to me this is much cozier and that's than other spas. This place is amazingly accommodating for groups if you call with enough notice, and we loved the added touch of the heated salt lamps for feet in the waiting areas. Worn that said the day we went they were fairly busy, so there wasn't always space to accommodate our entire group to sit together. Quality: 4/5. Overall this place could use some updating. In some places the carpet is definitely worn. Overall when we were there it felt very cramped in the locker room and there were many times we had to wait to use a restroom. Overall we absolutely adore this place. It's a short drive from Minneapolis and great for a girls weekend or girls day. They are amazingly accommodating for groups if you call enough in advanced. It could use a face lift, but we love the cozy vibe and price point here as compared to other high end spas in the twin cities area. They have continually added to their offerings which we've been impressed with. One thing to note, there isn't a sauna area or other areas other than lounges like many other spas have. I'm not sure why this location asked, because they didn't seem to follow anything I wrote. This was for my boyfriend's birthday and his name was not on the sign when we walked in, despite me listing that in the paperwork. In the past for my birthday, I have also gotten a card. But nothing here. My boyfriend also didn't want his feet touched and that was also listed in the paperwork. Unfortunately that was not followed. We were brought to our locker rooms and they were clean, had our names and chocolates in the lockers. Very nice touch! Our robe sizes and slides were also in our lockers. There is a large shower, 2 bathroom stalls and vanity with make up lighting. We then walked to the lobby area. This was where we started to have thoughts. Employees were talking in full volume. Not very relaxing. They also kept coming in and out of the room, talking, stocking snacks constantly! Again not very relaxing. The water was nice with a lemon. My boyfriend went to get water for hot tea but the water was room temp. Not very comforting. The massages were nice. I had Ingrid and she was lovely! She did a great job and was soft in speaking during the massage. My boyfriend said his massage therapist was talking at normal volume and didn't find it as relaxing. Afterwards we said in the lobby area again. In my opinion, the fireplace at maple grove is more welcoming and comforting. The warm water pool and sauna are definitely the highlights - so relaxing! If you're looking for a relaxing escape, this is it! They had a little relaxing room where you could go if you got too warm (it's very hot and hard to breathe in the main bathhouse area) which included an area to meditate and rest/nap. They do not allow any speaking, even whispering, so it's definitely not a spa environment to catch up in! I do think a few things could be altered to further improve the bathhouse experience, though! There's a very small hallway where all the lockers, changing rooms and bathrooms are, as well as the only place to come or go. It's very cramped and makes it hard to maneuver in or out. There are only two bathrooms in the bath house, and they also double as the showers which did impact the practicality of getting ready afterwards. Additionally, I would recommend improving the flow between massage and bathhouse since you have to carry all of the items you came in with down a set of stairs in a robe. With the word "spa" in the name, I expected a traditional spa experience where I was given a locker and a robe before my service rather than getting a massage right out of my street clothes.
