I clicked on an advertisement for information about this school. I was contacted immediately, should be the first red flag. I was on the phone for over an hour. Before the call was done I was " accepted " and enrolled. Then transferred to the " financial aid " office. I feel fortunate I came to my senses before continuing to deal with this "school " I advise everyone to look at all available options for your area of interest. My daughter Asia Hartell entered and completed the phlebotomy course in the spring of this year at the Clearwater campus. During the admissions interview we were promised that after completing the course she would not only be accredited but would also receive job placement assistance. She received no assistance in job placement and when she applied herself she found that no one accepted UMA as an accredited institution. Therefore the admissions claims and promises were fraudulent. I got a call from UMA. The call didn't go through but I decided to call back because I didn't know what time my appointment was. The lady that answered the phone couldn't and definitely wouldn't even look up my name for a scheduled conference. The lady tells me to hold on. She then pushed me to a voice mail. I then call back to get her name and now every time I call she hangs up the line. I know that she's doing it because schools have called ID. My number is never blocked. As soon as the phone range it hangs up. This is unacceptable and a bad look on this school. How can I plan my day when I don't know what time they are going to call. "Just wait for them to call you" is what she said. Just rude behavior from her. read more

Students and Employers do not use this school! We hired a graduate and the Administrators and staff won't stop calling our office and calling our new employee at 6am for who knows what. They are calling so much it is interfering with the employee learning their job. UMA didn't even refer this student to us, a mutual friend did. Many other schools to choose from. read more

Such a bad school had problems with Instructors giving me help also they never told me that we had to take a certification exan that we pay for in the end of the program the work force team don't help youa s much as you need help they told me i would be able to get a job after graduating once i graduated they told me there was no jobs in my location the job search team did not help me find any jobs shortly after graduating they stopped helping me find a job do your reserch well this school is trash do t waste your time or money here !!!!!!! read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would!! I just got scammed for the second time by them. I should have learned from a few years ago, but no, I wanted to finish my degree, so I reenrolled and not even a week later, they didn't give me all the information they needed and a week into a ''new start'' I got deactivated.. I guess it wasn't in the cards for me to get my degree because I sure as hell wont be going back to this school EVER!!! stay away from this school 100 million % not worth it!!! Hopefully this school has changed since I was enrolled! They used to run ads on TV and in the newspaper for medical assisting and cardio vascular technology, I signed up for the cardio vascular program because at the time, I wanted to become an invasive cardio tech and work in a Pediatric hospital. I had prior medical experience and was simply looking to further my education as a stepping stone. I'm sure the program is even more costly today at this campus, back then it was over $13,000 for a program that is less than a year. My 1st day was an evening course, the school was dealing with a transitioning period and had lost their President, my instructor was a very friendly lady that they brought from Massachusetts, her accent was hard to understand, but she was very nice! Being that the school was in a transition period, they did not know what to do with us one day one, so the instructor had us to into a computer lab and type a story out on a famous medical person, then read it to the class, yes, seriously! I was enrolled to learn and drove all the way from St Pete Beach to attend this class, a good 25 + miles each way, so this was not a joke to me. The program was so sketchy after a few minutes on my 2nd day of class, that I literally walked out and never went back! Then one of their office recruiters began calling me for money, more money!? Being that I was so young, I cut them a check for my physical, TB test and a couple of books, had they even thought about going after me for money today, I'd take them in court and win! I asked nicely and even had my bank send them a fax for a receipt that proved I paid them in full, and they would not even send me a receipt. The program was NOT what they advertised, the instructor did not even know when she would get into the cardio program, which was why I was signed up and there BTW. I dont even remember how much money they hit me up for, quite a few hundred. I have gone onto better things luckily and do not hold a grudge, I just hope they have transitioned into a legit school and not cheating more people. There are a lot of options nowadays for anyone thinking about a medical career, take your time, and please do your homework before jumping into a pricey college program. read more

The faculty is overwhelmingly helpful, patient, kind, and understanding. They really care about their students and their success.

I can't believe the advisors literally lied to me about my tuition being 18,000 for 18 months.. nope. 29,000 for an associates degree... I'm a Florida state resident. My grants couldn't cover my entire tuition, because you guys charge 29.000 . I only made 12,000 on my taxes, how am I supposed to pay off these loans? You lied to me. Failed me. I make 4.0.. We have been dealing with financial aid and supervisors from admissions with no luck getting answers just the run around and promised calls that never happen. They do not follow thru with anything they say they will do.. After fighting with financial aid and their supervisors for days I am done. I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy or a mass murder... I finally told them I was done and told the last person in financial aid that there was a alligator in the mud puddle by his car and it was going to eat him and it was going to hurt really bad.. I was extremely pleased with this school from day one. The advisors, instructors, and career counselors had my back from day one. I truly felt as if UMA sets you up for success from the very start. There seems to me, to be no reason for anyone not to excel in any of their programs. I received my AA degree and graduated with high honors on the Dean's List. I am also a student ambassador for the school. I hit some bumpy roads in my personal life during my time at UMA and I just have to say that they really do care. My career counselor not only called to check in on me, but reassured me that when I was ready to start interviewing again they would be there for me full force! In the meantime, I am able to take advantage of every opportunity afforded to me, such as brushing up on my interviewing skills by doing mock interviews with my career advisor. They also helped perfect my resume and sent me ones printed out on professional stationery. I just couldn't ask for any better. I have sharpened my professional skills in ways I never thought possible! I highly recommend this wonderful school! Thank you UMA! I'd do it all over again! read more

I attended the school and was supposed to be train in medical billing and coding. Even though I made A's and B's and C's I learned nothing. The teachers didn't help you. There was no way to talk to them and no seminars weekly to go over the materials. I feel like I was cheated and they just got financial aide for me to pay and owe them 2000 for something they told me was part of my financial aide and then found out it was wrong. I wish there was a way to report them and have them refund all the aide I received. read more
