I have been going to Ultralux off and on since they opened... the location is very convenient for me. In the service Industry it's not uncommon to have a good experience with one service from provider in a bad experience with another service provider. That's how I feel about ultra luxe. All of the males that I have had work on me are rough, they rush and do a terrible job.... Every time I've got a female I've been pretty pleased! A few really good ones are Fiona, Linh(Lynn), Kim, and I've just recently started seeing Diane! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Diane! She really takes her time, and pays attention to detail! That's exactly what Im looking for in a nail tech! She's so kind and accommodating, and getting an appointment with her is very simple! Im so glad I had a friend that recommended her! This place has really gone down hill. The pedicure chairs have rips and tears. I had to move chairs when I asked how to do the massage. I made an appointment for me and my mom yet they did her ( she's 86 years old) and then me so my mom had to wait on me .... That's why I made the appointment together she's can't stay out very long before she gets in pain. The guy that did out pedicure did not say hello in fact he didn't say anything just " point". The bowl was nasty I know they use the plastic bags but you would still think it would be clean. read more

I had been customer at a Ultralux Salon an Spa and I notice 2 of my nails has a darker color and when I turned my hand over I noticed there was a color of green through the nail, I went to the nail salon who had been applying the Acrylic on my nails and I asked the rep to take off the acrylic soI could see what the problem was and my nails was black and green, it shocked and scared me so I went to my doctor who told me it is a bacterial infection on my nails and prescribed a liquid antibiotic. I went back to the bail salon to inform them that I have a bacterial infection from their shop he asked for my name and number and I gave my information to him. The nail salon never called me back. What can be done with this nail shop ? read more

This place opened about five minutes from my house so I decided to try it hoping I would fall in love and not continue driving 20 minutes to my regular place because nobody has been able to take care of me as they have. Now, The facility is very beautiful. They definitely took their time with the design. From the chandelier hanging in the front to the full row (not one or two as most places have) of pedicure chairs specifically for children. That was a nice touch indeed that I'm sure parents will appreciate. They have a few televisions around on the walls, some playing music and others actual showed. They do also have other businesses located in different parts of the building with different services but that's for another time. As for my services, I went for a manicure and pedicure. They offer water, soda and wine as most salons do. Something already seemed off when the woman Mia asked a gentleman how she was supposed to do certain things that were in the package I selected. Very weird to me. He directed her and she continued on. The pedicure wasn't as nice and relaxing as I would have liked. Honestly, the chair was what made it even remotely worth it. As for the manicure, no real issues here. Only thing that was unique was that she asked me to pay before being polished (normal) but then she wasn't the one that polished my nails. She polished my toes so why not my fingers? The man that did polish my fingernails did a nice job and was very pleasant and personable. I would give him five stars. When it was time for me to dry he escorted me over to the drying station and advised me on how long I should stay there. I thanked him. After the time I began touching my feet to see how soft and smooth they were and there was still wax on my feet from the paraffin. Not a little but a noticeable amount. I peeled off the remaining wax and put on my shoes and left. All in all, not the worst experience however, I probably wouldn't go there again, at least not for a manicure or pedicure. read more

I went to get my nails done here last week and my "gel" polish is now dingy and has no shine. It has only been 1 week and I am not use to gel tarnishing at all, so this is a surprise to me. Do yourself a favor and go to a salon that offers quality polish for the price they charge you. read more

You never know until it happens to you! I'm a newly licensed esthetician and I worked hard to get where I'm at! I would like to say what should have been addressed many times ago. There's a lot of salons, shops, beauty supply stores etc. that targets the black community. I will not make this post about me nor about the individuals that was involved. I'm making this post to address Ultralux Salon and Spa. I was recently hired to be an esthetician. I know in many cases when you enter a nail salon they will try to upsale, add-ons etc etc to make there money! Cool! I was scammed out of $110 today. I wasn't walking in as a client/customer, I walked in as a employee. The agreement was I was supposed to figure out what products they used in there establishment. So I can get a feel on what I was going to use. I did my research before hand to see if I needed to let the owner know what I'm familiar with and what I can work with. That was not the case! When I walked in he approached me as if he didn't know who I was and he was the one who hired me. So he asked me if I was able to perform eyebrow wax and I told him yes. He then leads me into the wax room where another employee was doing a service, mind you I was there to work. So I figured I'm in here to be trained on the products and services that are offered here as an esthetician. The employee ask me was I there to get an eyebrow wax I told her no I'm here to train because this is my first day. She then continues to do the wax and lash service on the client. Mind you the wax pots were disgusting and she used the same wax stick the entire service . So furthermore she leaves because I assumed at that point she went to talk to the owner on what it was I was there for. So she comes back in and she said okay I can do your eyebrows. So I was like ummmm okay. " in the back of my mind I really don't want this done but okay if this is what y'all do for new employees." so she finished and I was like okay what do I do next as an employee! So I find the owner not once did he/she say hey that'll be $10 nor hey this is what you finna do as far as working. So I'm confused. SO they pressed me about getting my lashes done I said no. Then he pressed me about getting my nails done I said no. Then he says why not? So at that point I'm like hey this what he does for new employees. " I had no intentions to get any services done" so he starts to do my nails "in the back of mind he doesn't know who I am still" so he starts asking me about my personal life and I was like okay he does remember who I am and what I'm here for "TO WORK" so he's asking what do I want, so at that point I'm like well I don't want to over due it if it's on you my guy, AS IM TYPING THIS IM HOT! Anyway, he then passes me off to another employee and she starts to do my nails so I'm talking to her about how long she worked here I'm new here I just got employed here, she's telling me the ins and out about the job "all the above". So she finishes and he's like okay you want a pedicure? I'm like wheeettttt! Mind you I have all of $90 in my pocket. So I'm like I'm asking well what can I get because whole time at this point I'm thinking it's on him. He keeps saying it's up to me! Lmao at this point ok im like well shit give it all to me! so I get the pedicure , home girl cut me 3 TIMES , I didn't trip because it happens to the best of us, buttttttt if it was a paying customer they would have spazzed! I didn't spazz. Smh. Anywho she thens tells me what I owe. . OWE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!? She tells me it's $110. So I'm like okay where's the owner? He walks up to me scratching his head, hell I'm scratching mine too!! So he's like you can pay what you have now then pay the rest later. AINT NO LATER! So figured out how to pay before waking out these folks establishment. I get to the register, she's like $115................. $115???????????????????? At that point they really had me all the way hot!!!!! I pay. So I leave, respectfully! But I couldn't take that L. I wanted to call the cops myself but I didn't they did. Moral of this story, this establishment is full of . IM definitely disputing what I did pay on my card. Y'all can keep the rest I payed in cash. I highly recommend not to ever try to work there. read more

This is my second time here and this time was worse than the last time. When I first walked in there was a nail artist sitting in front of the door sneezing uncontrollably, but I paid it no attention. I had gotten a pedicure with a full set, I guess they didn't tell her and when she went to paint my toe nails I told her and she caught a disrespectful attitude like she didn't want to do it. After my feet were about done there was another girl that was getting a pedicure and she needed to have her acrylics taken off. Instead of the lady doing her pedicure holding her hand low to clip them she held her hand high and allowed the clipping to fly off and go everywhere. I think one even hit me, but I'm not sure. Now that it was time for my nails i had to walk all the way to the front with wet toe nails and a broken slipper. As she was doing my nails I noticed that my big toe was messed up and this is when the cussing began, she fixed it, but once she got back to my nails she ended up cutting me with the drill and played it off. Once she finished my nails instead of me letting me walk over she starts pulling the chair that I'm sitting in and the initial pull made me bump my nails which messed it up, once she realized it she started cussing and yelling switching from English to her language in front of a salon full of customers and employees. For having almost spent $150 I should have received some type of professionalism and respect. Never again read more
