So being fond of the odd doughnut or two, or three (alright you get the picture) I noted the location as we drove quickly by. Three days later and under our own steam this time we found this place and bought two doughnuts. There were a dozen or so flavours but being a simple chap I opted for the melina (raspberry) and my more adventurous wife chose a snickers one. Each was separately bagged up and both cost the equivalent of an American dollar. It was about an hour later that we decided to eat them and they were nothing special so if that's the best in Gdańsk then ya can keep the lot of them. These were greasy, the bags they were in were saturated with grease and they tasted like cold fried bread. My one with raspberry jam had a very cheap jam filling. My wife declared hers a pretty grim experience too. It had some bits of peanut on the outside but like mine the predominant flavour of hers too was cold fried bread and grease. There was nothing snickers about the taste just a plain doughnut with peanut nibs on the outside. We wouldn't eat another for free. Our advice here is if you have a craving for sugar here then there's an ice cream parlour two minutes away. If Beni is on commission I understand his recommendation if not then he has poor taste and even poorer judgement. On balance it's one star as terrible is more suitable than poor even though they cost little money. Cheap, cheerless food.

I enjoyed my experience and had great servers who recommended the pumpkin quiche of the day which was amazing! A great start to the day and filling with a side salad and tzatziki sauce too. The pączki are fluffy and light, and have an absolutely delicious dough flavor. We chose the jam filling today, and it was rich but tart. But overall it was just OK. We showed up on a Saturday morning and it was packed but they seated us quickly, which was welcome as we were starving. My husband ordered one of the vegetarian ones but it was out, so he got the egg one instead, which he said was also fine. Additionally, we ordered one of the oatmeals with almond milk, gluten-free oats, peanut butter, banana, nuts, cinnamon, etc. It wasn't particularly flavorful but my son liked it. As for drinks, my husband got the hot chocolate and he enjoyed it; of all the hot chocolates he had in the city, it was his favorite. The price was also pretty good.
