Umami Ramen is my favorite ramen in the Sacramento area, they have their original location in Folsom as well as this Lincoln location. Whenever I'm near either location I make a point to stop by to enjoy a meal or pick up take out to enjoy at home. While a fresh bowl of ramen in the restaurant is always the best experience, their take-out options are packed well and reheat nicely. I'll often warm up ramen the day after I pick it up and it's such a nice treat to have at home. The Lincoln location has plenty of parking and once you're inside you head up to the kiosks to order for dine in or carry out. Definitely take a look through the menu, they have a variety of ramen options, including soupless ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers. They also have a variety of drinks, and I noticed on my recent visit that this Lincoln location has alcoholic options. My favorite order is their spicy tonkatsu ramen- the broth is so rich, there's a perfect amount of spice, and it hits every mark for me. Honestly, I didn't truly appreciate good ramen until I tried Umami Ramen and now this is the standard that I judge all other ramens by. We also typically order their karaage chicken and I pick up and onigiri or two (the tuna is my favorite). Everything on the menu is great though and I'd recommend trying anything that sounds yummy at the moment. There is plenty of seating and I love that the restaurant is decorated with plenty of fun posters, art, and even figurines to look at. They also have a shopping area for Japanese snacks, toys, drinks, desserts and a claw machine. A pro tip is to check out their specials- when I visited they had a $25 special for a small appetizer, ramen, and drink. It was a great deal! They also have the option to adjust your ramen by leaving off certain items or ordering extras- I usually get extra bamboo shoots for $2 (it's a generous portion of them) and their eggs are AMAZING- if you're a fan it's definitely worth ordering an extra. The staff here is also so kind, if you're having trouble deciding they're happy to help and can ring you up if your prefer ordering with them. They also always make sure I have water when I dine in and pack my to-go orders with such care. I highly recommend both of Umami Ramen's locations and hope they open a third closer to me so I can go all the time. For now, I'm happy to travel though! read more

It's 95 degrees outside and apparently my brain says, "You know what sounds good? Hot soup." So when the ramen craving hit, we headed to Umami Ramen, my favorite ramen spot in Northern California. The broth here is rich, bold, and packed with flavor...some might find it intense, but for me it's a total chef's kiss. You can choose thick or thin noodles, and I always go for the thick ones because I love that extra bounce. I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen because garlic is one of my love languages. My husband went for the Spicy Tonkotsu and was sweating bullets by the end of the meal, but he still cleaned his bowl! The chashu pork was a little dry on this visit, but the broth, noodles, and all the toppings still made for a delicious and satisfying meal. We ordered 3 ramen: black garlic, garlic noodles and the miso ramen on top of that we also ordered the octopus legs. The octopus leg came out first and it was delicious. It was lightly battered but crispy. Their spicy mayo sauce was a perfect balance. I don't usually like dipping sauce but this one was delicious. It wasn't too fatty and rich. The black garlic was a 3.5. I couldn't really taste the black garlic but the pork and egg was perfectly cooked. The pork melted in your mouth. My husband ordered the miso. He said it's the best miso ramen in the area. He hasn't had miso ramen like this since we moved from Los Angeles. We ordered the garlic noodles for my son. He almost finished the whole thing. The medium spice level was just a little too spicy for me but all the ramens were delicious! The spicy miso and tonkatsu especially were amazing, definitely my new favorite ramen place. Here for Umami's first anniversary ramen special on 4/11/26. Any ramen bowl for $3.90. Too good to pass up, when regular price is $16-18, but the caveat being that it was nearly a 3 hour wait when we arrived. I appreciated that the staff had a number system set up for the crowd, and a staff member was outside to direct what line to go to and also to let people know the estimated wait time. So the chaos was kept to a minimum. When it was our turn to dine in, the staff were fast and efficient with bringing a carafe of water and glasses to the table. Our food came out in less than 5 minutes of being seated. I had the black garlic tonkatsu (thin noodles) and my husband had the chicken paitan (thin noodles). The pork broth and the chashu were flavorful and tender. The chicken broth was good with a light creamy layer of flavor. The chicken chashu were nice cuts of white meat. The restaurant is on the smaller side and is cutely decorated with all the holidays (check out the ghost near the restroom), anime, and other Japanese motif. I liked the broth and the noodles were the perfect thickness and the veggies were the perfect complement. I even liked the pork, it was super lean and flavorful. Normally, I don't eat pork chashu cause it seems too fatty. The service was good, which is saying something cause every table was full with a line almost to the door. I'd come here again to try their other flavors, it was worth the drive. We had a delightful meal here with our good friend and fellow Yelper Elite, Belinda C. who suggested it. The restaurant had a two day event to have Ramen with Wagyu beef from Japan. Who would want to miss that! Plus, the price was reasonable. It's a special Win-Win and great reason to get together. We were offered either a regular or spicy version. I went for the spicy and Belinda and Ed ordered regular. We were given a table and settled in for some great conversation. Belinda surprised us with an order of Pepper Chicken Karaage which had six pieces, plus a sauce and was utterly delicious. The food arrived in a timely mannet and staff is always friendly and cordial. It's family owned and the owner even came over to check on our satisfaction. Thumbs up! The broth looked white and creamy and the Wagyu very evident on top. It looked wonderful. At first bite mine was Super Spicy but upon mixing it the flavor and spiciness level was fine. I enjoyed the consistency of the noodles and the Wagyu. The beef was extraordinarily tender and delicious. The entire meal was great and most enjoyable. In a tale as old as time,my daughter and I faced a common 1st world dilemma that many have encountered-Pho or Ramen? Umami Ramen location in Folsom with its amazing 4.7 Yelp score is currently ranked #9 overall Ramen Shop in the state of California on Yelp-which is an amazing score-well the Lincoln location has a 4.8 Yelp score-so I knew as I was headed out there I was In for a treat. Parking at this location is plentiful as it shares a lot in a multi tenant lot-so that was no problem. When we arrived it was pretty quiet as we were the only customers,so we walked in and placed our order on their huge kiosks located at the front counter and then grabbed a number then grabbed a table. The decor at this location is phenomenal-it almost like transports you to another place-it's such a fun feeling as your walking in-Japanese anime-style feel to the entire store l-I liked it a lot.I for sure would not call this place a serious restaurant- much more casual restaurant feel-I could see my daughter who is in her young 20s,coming here often with her friends before a night of fun. We both decided to go with R3-Black Garlic Tonkotsu ramen ($17.00) but I went with thick noodles and she went with thin noodles.They brought our order out very fast-under 10 minutes. Located next to Simply Nutrition, Stretch Lab, and Urbano's. Same shopping center as Subway, B&B Boba, close to Chevron. Lots of parking. When you first walk in, there's a freezer full of interesting ice cream and unique frozen treats. Then there are mouth-watering drinks like a mango cream soda, peach soda and more. You'll place your order at the kiosk and put your table number in place of your name. My husband was very excited when we first walked in and immediately ordered the chicken karage, not realizing each bowl of ramen comes with 3 pieces of complimentary chicken karage. He ordered the black garlic ramen and I got the soupless garlic noodles with pork. We both felt the soupless noodles tasted better. Portion size didn't seem very big but we were pretty full at the end of our meal (probably from so much chicken karage!) We didn't order any drinks but were given a carafe of ice water. Funny to say but the ice water was SO GOOD! It was chilled in their fridge at a low temperature so it was extra cold--perfect for a hot day! What a great location for a Ramen restaurant. Didn't have a chance to make it to the Yelp event but we wanted to try this place out. When you first enter the restaurant, there are various snacks, frozen treats, and drinks available for purchase, many of them are Japanese ones. They also have anime figurines available for purchase that are proudly displayed throughout the restaurant. At the front, there are kiosks where you can place your order and pay, although one of the owners was there and helped me with my selections. I decided on the black garlic ramen and a side order of chicken karaage, not knowing that for a limited time, I would get 3 free pieces with the purchase of any ramen. Oh well, that just means that I have more chicken karaage to devour. Yay me! My wife ordered the soupless (not "soulless" as my iPhone autocorrect keeps wanting to change "soupless" to, it is far from soulless) garlic noodles with pork. OMG, the soupless noodles, I feel, were even yummier than my ramen. Guess what I'm getting next time? My black garlic ramen was still very tasty though, don't get me wrong. Oh yeah, let's talk about the chicken karaage. It was perfectly cooked, crunchy on the outside yet moist and tender on the inside. It was perfectly seasoned and it honestly doesn't need any kind of dipping sauce. I can find no faults with any of the food that we ordered. We didn't order any drinks but were served ice water in clear carafes. Wish more restaurants would serve water this way. Our waiter, who was also one of the owners, was very friendly, always checking on us, and brought back a second carafe of water for us. Service definitely was not lacking. I'm so happy that Umami Ramen has come to the Lincoln Twelve Bridges area! My favorite is the Black Garlic Tonkotsu, which is my default order and flavor preference at ramen restaurants. I loved that the thick cuts of tonkotsu pork had grill markings! PRO TIP: I swap the default thin noodles for the Thick Noodles because it has more chew. From prior experience at Umami Ramen's Folsom location, I know the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen also has a tasty broth. Karaage Don wasn't that exciting to me, but you get a lot of chicken karaage. Not as flavorful compared to popcorn chicken, but probably more palatable that way for kids and people who avoid spicy and oversalted. I would have liked more sauces. PRO TIP (which I forgot to do): Mark the Spicy checkbox when placing your order or write it under Special Instructions. In addition, look for A11: Pepper Chicken Karaage. During most of June 2025, there was a 3 Free Deep-Fried Gyoza offer with every Ramen purchase for dine-in customers. That was a yummy treat! At the Folsom location in the past, I enjoyed the Geso, seasoned deep fried squid legs. Other menu items I would try: - Katsu Curry - Chashu Don - Chicken Chashu - Shio, Paitan, and Spicy Paitan ramens all have a chicken broth. - Teriyaki Brussels Sprouts - Pan-fried Gyoza (fried together into a flower shape) I like that you can order Bok Choy as a ramen topping add-on. Thoughtful and adorable Japanese anime and ramen related decor, even in the restrooms. During one visit, I counted 10 tables for 2 and 6 tables for 4. Restaurant feels like a fast food or self service cafeteria style establishment. You order at the counter and grab a number for your table, which you get to choose. You'll see the server bring water and your meals to your table, but that's pretty much it. For dine-in, to be safe, I would arrive at least 20 minutes before closing. I was told 15 minutes was OK, but the one time I arrived around then, I wasn't allowed to dine in. Restaurant closes at 2:30 pm on weekdays. I almost didn't want to write this because it feels like a hidden gem, but Umami Ramen deserves real attention. I've chased good ramen all over NorCal, and I walk in with high standards every time. This place tops all of them. After eating here, going back to Fukumi Ramen doesn't hit the same. What makes this spot different is the balance. The broth has depth and weight, but it still feels clean. You're not overwhelmed halfway through the bowl. The noodles hold their texture, and every bite feels intentional. We both ordered the spicy tonkatsu ramen but my husband got his with thick noodles. The thick noodles have a very eggy taste. I prefer the thin noodles but thick was good too. The broth was so flavorful and the egg.... Literally the best egg I've ever had. The inside was jammy and had a savory yet sweet taste. Next time I'm definitely ordering an extra egg. The chasu was great too. Savory and thick but not too thick. I usually order extra mushrooms on my ramen but the bowl here came with plenty so I don't have to. The service was good too. I loved the Mazemen noodles- perfect if you don't want something with soup but still want the hearty noodles and meat. It even came with the soft poached egg and it was still perfectly cooked when I cracked it open! I appreciated that they left the spice on the side so I could control it too. Today was their first day soft opening and already quite a few folks were there to try it out for lunch. They are still finishing up some of their decor but mostly finished. This is the second location from their Folsom location and decor and menu is very similar. You order your ramen at the kiosk at the front and take a number to your table. They will delivery your food and drinks and servers/staff were all really nice. They also have Japanese snacks and drinks for sale and looks like a freezer drawer to eventually have ice cream for sale For appetizers my husband and I got the karaage and geso. They were both nicely fried and they give you lemon to squeeze on top. The sauce tasted great and it was a great appetizer. I preferred the geso over the karaage For ramen we got the shio chicken ramen and medium spicy miso ramen. The shio chicken was really light and came with chicken chasu and had a nice yuzu taste in the broth that was light and refreshing. The spicy miso ramen had nice flavor and coated my curly thick ramen noodles well for each bite. I like spicy ramen and the medium wasn't spicy enough. Next time I'll for sure try the spicy level. The toppings were good and noodles had a nice chewy texture. Overall I am giving this place a 5/5 for the Sacramento area. I think it's one of the best ramen in the area as I've tried them all in the local area. Unfortunately, the noodles and assortment of extras fell short making the bowl merely average. I left hungry and that's not something you want from a Ramen House. Although it was a small portion, compared to other bowls in the area, it was spicy and well flavored. The service was excellent and the clean upbeat ambiance was evident. Well the food was tasty, but if you're hungry you'll leave hungry after eating a bowl! The ramen bowl had three thin slice of pork, a little egg , which I thought was a quail egg, but my brother said it wasn't and the owner in there reply to my first comments also said it wasn't a quail egg..sorry! So I edited it out! it was just so small I assumed it was!, and noodles, we tried to find the other ingredients... again it tasted ok and its broth was good , but left hungry ...I'll probably not go there again! 18.23$ for a small portion and we had pot sticker, which were very good, another 10$ , So out the door for 30$ and I still have to go home and eat something! Had to go home and eat some ice cream to get full!!! I called in an order for the Black Garlic Tonkotsu ramen and it was ready in 10-15 minutes. It was still warm when I got home and absolutely delicious. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly done. I went to Umami Ramen for their 1 year anniversary. The place has a fun vibe with an anime theme. I had the fried oysters and the miso ramen. The fried oysters were slimy and delicious, 4.5/5. As for the ramen, I would score 3/5 for the noodles, 3.5/5 for the broth, and 4.5/5 for the pork belly. The bowl comes with a decent amount of pork belly. I was so excited to hear that Umami Ramen was coming to Lincoln because I've ate at the Folsom location a few times and loved it. Their new location in Lincoln is amazing. So far I've tried their spicy tonkotsu ramen, tonkotsu ramen, karaage bowl, and katsu curry. Each has been so delicious. I highly recommend the spicy tonkotsu ramen. They also sell anime figurines, toys, candy, and snacks. They also have mini claw machines.The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean. I am so happy we finally have a Ramen spot in town!!! Hubby and I ordered Gyoza (super flavorful and crispy), spicy chicken rice bowl and the spicy miso ramen. So much flavor!!!! I ordered thin. Oodles, next time I will try thick noodles. I am usually not a fan of the pork BUT their pork was tender and delicious! We went after church and by the time we left, it was packed!
