Such is the nature of success, and hard work. I have been to their main "flagship" store many times, when Campos has been closed, and have always left satisfied. Besides being "gold medal" winners, and purveyors of excellent coffee, I think that's one of the reasons why they are so popular; is that Bellissimo Coffee, never EVER close. NOPE. Not for Christmas, or New Year's day! We came to the Bulimba store, on one of the hottest days of the year, after they had "officially" opened after Christmas. Located towards the City Cat end of Oxford Street at the old Martial Arts Dojo. The warehouse is still looking a little industrial, but outside it does resemble a no-fuss coffee shop with plenty of seating. Our friendly and informative host, Edwin, was kind enough to tell us a little about their coffee. They still have their Premium blends, Ultimo and Italian Dark Roast, as well as their single origins from El Salvador and Colombia. Being such a hot day, we were immediately drawn towards the fridge, appearing like a mirage in the desert. I asked for something cold and strong, and Edwin recommended some of their cold pressed coffees, in particular the Cold Drip Coffee (Single Origin) El Salvador. Dripped for over 15 hours, it was so smooth and clean on the palette. That, and it literally picked me up and slapped me in the face! Wow! If Red Bull gives you wings, I think that gave me a jetpack! Loved it. Perfect for a hot day, that drained me of all my energy. You know what I like about dripped coffee? Its not so much the process or the fact that its a strong coffee. I just love the Breaking Bad looking flasks and lab glass. Maybe because it appeals to the nerd in me who studied Chemistry in high school. Bellissimo Coffee in Bulimba is a great addition for the company, and I can see it having a huge following in the future, similar to the Fortitude Valley store. Cue that opportunity presenting itself this week. I stopped by around 9:30am to only a handful of punters enjoying a morning brew. There are new signs up saying that you can no longer sit in the beautiful air patio that Kristen M mentions but it's not their doing. Seems there's council and red-tape involved. It's a shame. On the beautiful Spring day it was, enjoying your coffee (s) and a bite to eat out there would have been marvelous. In any case, I ordered an iced latte which was served promptly. What I like about Bellissimo's blend is that it is strong enough to cut through the amount of milk in a drink like this and I'm excited to try it as an iced long black. The space itself is a warehouse and as such the trimmings are functional but minimal. This, I'm assuming, is their main roasting location and as such the space reflects a work space that just happens to also serve coffee and small cafe bites (cakes, muffins and such).

Was disappointed that despite the description of what I ordered did not mention chilli. Aside from that, was thoroughly impressed by the staff. It was the little things treat the staff did. Eg. Being informed that my order would take a few minutes. After receiving my order, I looked to see if they had water on offer. The busy cashier taking all the orders spotted me and directed me to the water. As it was under the counter and not eye level, silly me, could not see it. Then another staff member spotted me searching and pointed to exactly where the water was. I know that this seems like nothing, but it wasn't. The place was full and the staff could have not noticed me at all. The fact that 2 members did, it caught my attention that whoever is training these people are doing a damn good job!! I've visited a few times now, with visits ranging from a quick take-away to a sit-down salad (if it is there go for the feta and watermelon, at $7.50 its a healthy hunger buster that won't break the bank). The formula is no different to the Campos you might experience on Wandoo Street, but I dare say the menu is more focused on quick take-away items or easy to prepare in a considerably smaller kitchen at this store. For that reason, there's a display cabinet of cakes, salads and sandwiches but none of the extravagant menu items you may be familiar with from other Campos outlets. The times I've visited the coffee and food have been as good as other Campos outlets, and it's always been super busy. This can make it a tad noisy in such a small space. On that, when it is super busy, seating is at a premium. Don't get your hopes up for a spot but always check upstairs where theres a little more seating available. A fine addition to Brisbane's newest retail precinct.

It's a cute subset of the Elizabeth Mall that seems to be a bit out of place since it's next to a Korean restaurant and Japanese curry house. However, the staff is friendly and speak Mandarin Chinese in case your English is a little haphazard. The girl manning the counter is very attentive and takes care of the customers with ease so the entire experience is enjoyable. It takes me about 6-7 minutes to walk over here from the office and as a Texan, let me tell you, that is a sizable trek just to get coffee. However, trust me when I say that it's wholly worth it.

We spent some time perusing their sizeable coffee bean selection from Australian to Single Origin Kenyan, Indian and Indonesian. Happy to report that yes you do get a free coffee with bean purchase :-) Of course we zeroed in in the all important snacking menu and were pleasantly rewarded to find many tasty options often sequestered to bfast menus on w/ends. Partner went for the avo on toast w/ lemon and I dived on a cheese & tomato toasty (simple but sooooo good!). Coffee is strong and well made. Prices were average & portions were decent. Some beans have gotten close, but none have ever quite measured up. As a coffee shop they're just OK. They're pretty small, though the upstairs has now been converted to a bungalow with seats and the like. The focus here is the roasting, and the layout of the coffee shop pretty much lets you know that. You'd have to be blind to miss the giant roaster right by the door or the huge bins of roasted beans. That's not to say they're not a good coffee shop,but if you're looking for the coffee shop atmosphere of just hanging out there are better coffee shops, but they're coffee isn't as good. Seating is a bit thin and on the lower floor is just a couple of benches and some standing room at the bar. Their menu is basic, but everything on it is absolutely amazing. It's also the only, and I do mean only, place that I've seen PECAN PIE in Australia. I told my classmates that it is a thing, I actually tried to make it for them with only some small degree of success, but there it is on their shelf. It is also delicious.
