Visited for the first time in a while on a Thursday. It wasn't particularly busy, chips and salsa came out quick, service after that was slow. We didn't get plates and it took a while to get our drink orders in. We would've put in an order for appetizers, but since it took a while to get service, we didn't want to wait and went straight to entrees. Entrees were good. Sides left much to be desired. Rice was undercooked and hard for everyone. I'm not sure if my rice was made differently, but it wasn't the same color or taste as others in my group. My order was supposed to come with beans, but they never came. The fish tacos are good. Everything is served hot and the establishment itself is spacious and clean, but overall the experience is lackluster.

Came here with a group. The restaurant was basically empty, so you'd think the service would be faster. But it took 40 minutes for drinks to come out and another hour for the food. The service was terribly slow and even when the food finally came out, those who ordered the steak fajitas didn't get it cooked to their requested doneness. Possibly the worst dining experience I've had. Would not come back here or recommend

Uncle Julio's is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. It was the first restaurant I tried in Chicago, and I've been back at least 3-4 times since. For a Saturday date night, we decided to return and found the place packed with about an hour-long wait. Fortunately, my husband's gold membership allowed us to shorten our wait time, and we quickly got seats at the bar for drinks. Both drinks were delicious and refreshing, and we enjoyed chips and salsa while waiting. Once seated, our server Jeremy greeted us promptly and brought another basket of chips and salsa. He was very knowledgeable about the menu, answering our questions about different dishes and the fresh fruit of the day. He also brought us a spicy salsa that had a nice aftertaste rather than being outright hot. Our food arrived quickly and was, as always, delicious. We even got a small side of hot sauce for our fajitas, which added a great kick. As vegetarians, we appreciated that they offered cilantro rice and black beans with the vegetarian fajitas instead of the usual Spanish rice and pinto beans. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back, both by ourselves and with friends!

Came on a Friday night with a fairly large group. They requested half our party be present before being sat, which is totally reasonable. Chips and salsa were constantly refilled. However, water was not. I had the el Jefe margarita, and it was spicy. On the menu, it states max 2. I had one on this visit. For my entree, I had the chicken tortilla bowl. I felt that it was very salty. Server did decent for our large group.

You have a choice of queso or guac as a starter, both are small. Chips and salsa are also gratis. After that you have a choice of two items from a list of about 8 or 9 items. I had the chicken quesadilla and tostada. Upgrade to add bean and rice for a buck. My colleagues fish taco wasn't worth the extra $2 according to her. I thought everything was fresh and delicious. More lunch than both of us needed, I'd pass on the rice/beans in the future. Service was good. Attentive but everything was her favorite on the menu, not very helpful. Seating in indoors or out. My server was pretty slow and seemed distracted, sometimes gone for 20 minutes at a time. I basically had to lock eyes with him just to get his attention. He was a younger guy, so hopefully he tightens that up. Also, if someone notes in their reservation that they're bringing a baby and a car seat, it would make more sense to seat them at a booth instead of in the middle of the restaurant, especially when booths are open. Overall, I'd say it was about a 7/10 experience.

The place is very quiet, just some soft Mexican instrumental music playing in the aground. Good Tequilas is quite large, although we rarely see anybody there right when they open (Monday and Tuesday they open at 3).. At least for women (so I imagine for men as well) and they offer Disabled parking and have a ramp at the entrance. The food, well, if you eat meat it's great. If you are a vegan, not so much. First of all they were deceptive and dishonest for many years. Most vegetarians would not think to ask like me Hindu (vegan), but the rice and beans were prepared with chicken paste. I mean, they could have been sued if I made a big deal out of.it. So anyway, the host/server today told me that they no longer use chicken paste in their rice and beans, they are pure vegan.. So I ordered a rice, beans and guacamole. The guacamole there is quite good. I tried a bite of the rice and beans, discreetly spit it out in my napkins. I tried a bit of rice and discreetly spit it out in my napkin. I just ate my same order as always fot many years, chips are salsa are complimentary. I hate salsa. It is not just Good Tequilas salsa, I just refuse to put salsa in my mouth. Chips and guacamole thums up. So today, with the inedible rice and beans, my check came out to $14. That's on me, as I ordered the plate of now vegan rice and beans. My American husband loves the place, and so do I if I stick to free chips and guacamole.

There were two of us, so we were sat fairly quickly in the main dining room area. Server came over shortly after and off we went. We started with margaritas of course, then moved on to a queso dip followed by a few entrees. Queso was solid, a bit overpriced, as it was fairly standard. My peer went for the quesabirria, which is a new addition and still considered "off menu". Came with three tacos, rice, beans and consommé for dipping. The tacos were well cooked with juicy meat and cripsy shells, but the consommé made the whole meal. It was well seasoned and very flavorful. We were impressed with how much flavor they got into it! I went with an enchilada dinner, which was essentially a sampler of their classic enchiladas with beef, chicken and cheese topped in a red sauce. Enchiladas were solid! Rice and beans were standard, not much in flavor, but you never come to a Mexican spot after the sides. Service was stellar. Our server was friendly, attentive, helpful and just a joy to interact with. The space is lively, but also cozy. Options for seating are from the dining room to covered patio to a grandiose bar area. Space was well kept and clean. Overall, solid visit to Casa Margarita. Would definitely swing back by when in the area!

Los, as she calls it, serves up some delicious more authentic Mexican. It is a fast casual eatery that seems to be a favorite amongst locals. The menu consists of a lot of your tex-mex staples like tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and more! You can dine in or carry out, although you get complimentary chips and salsa if you dine in. Service is good and the food comes out quickly. If you order separately, you have to order and pay at the front, otherwise your server will take your order. The inside is very casual and not the cleanest, but not to the point where it's unappealing. The chips were decent and were warm when they arrived. They looked more like Tostitos, but they appeared fresh so I assumed they were made in house. The salsa is great, a little sweet, a little spicy--perfect! I ended up ordering three steak tacos and a pork tamale. The tacos do not come with complimentary rice and beans. I personally appreciated this as I wasn't in the food for either on this particular occasion. Food came out about 8-10 minutes later. Served made to order, everything looked phenomenal! The steak tacos had two tortillas each, filled with ample amounts of tender steak, some shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and topped with tomato slices. I loved the corn tortillas as they seemed homemade. Homemade tortillas are a game changer and automatically amplify any Mexican dish. The steak was flavorful, a little chewy, but still good. The tacos were packed with steak and they were very filling. My friend got the chicken tacos and they came with onion and cilantro. These appeared more "authentic" than mine, but I still liked mine. Now the pork tamale was easily the best I've had. The corn masa had the perfect texture and the pork was very flavorful. I would recommend this as a side for sure! Overall, I enjoyed Los and can see why my friends Cole here for a causal dinner together. It seems like the perfect spot to grab a chill dinner with friends. Food seems authentic, service is decent, and the vibes are super chill. I will say, this place gives "hole in the wall" kind of vibes, but trust me the food is great! I really loved the homemade tortillas and the pork tamale, both hit the spot. Portions are large and the food isn't expensive at all. Would definitely try it if you haven't already.
