Just FYI. Uncle Nancy's is out of business. I stopped there yesterday and the building is empty.

COFFEE (2/5 - forget it, go to a gas station or mcdonalds instead) Didn't order food, but coffee, as I came here to stop by after passing through Newton, they didn't know what simple syrup is. Their coffee tastes like something you can get at a gas station and I regret simply not going to a gas station for coffee. AMBIANCE (0/5) Dark, old, dingy, smells weird....just like the clientele. SANITATION (0/5) I don't even put this if it's not issue, well yeah....went into the guy's bathroom, and there was dried dung all over the toilet. Overall, I normally favor locally-owned businesses, but not this one, I do not recommend maybe unless you're an old white dude that works a blue collar job that doesn't have bathroom decency. For everyone else, I heavily recommend West Side Java instead, if you're ever in Newton. Also....what kind of name is "Uncle Nancy" to begin with? Never heard of any old man named "Nancy" but okay.....guess I should open a restaurant named "Aunt Billy Bob's". read more

Yummy XOXO latte and great panini. Located on the charming Newton Square. New owner was friendly as were most wait staff. Relaxing atmosphere! Only odd thing was having cashier mention "the purple sign" when I asked for the rest room. I saw it was a handwritten notice about customer use only. Did she think I wasn't going to order just because I had to go first? I was on a road trip so often need to use the facilities before I can relax with food and drinks. We like to have our coffee time here. Pleasant space with comfy chairs. I'm an iced tea person and it's just average. Coffee folks enjoy their brew. I like the walnut coffee cake. Others like the scones. A friend said the cinnamon roll was tasty. Lunch always looks tasty. Pleasant help. We enjoy seeing a grandma bring in the waitress's little one for a visit on her break!! read more

Uncle Nancy's has a very comfortable environment for everyone. Big comfy couches and chairs, tables and chairs for eating, lots of space for big groups or small. Their coffees, teas, and snacks are to die for! read more

Hospitality? Definitely not! I walk in and I don't get a welcome or anything, they expected our order right away like huh? Give us a sec damn. Didn't even want to try the food because of the attitude. Lady just wanted to move on to the next customer. Literally the worst atmosphere I've ever had in the Midwest. Quaint coffee house in the middle of the downtown square. The space is actually quite big and feels comfortable. Not too loud either. Daily lunch specials are typical deli sandwiches and soup choice, the side of fruit was a pleasant surprise. The price is good for the portion size. I enjoyed it enough to want to go back and try a breakfast option. read more

Quick detour of off 80 is well worth it. "Some of the best coffee we've had on tour!" -Victory and Associates 3 bandmates and I camped out here for almost an hour (whoops) while recovering from a show the night before. 1 bandmate manages a coffeeshop back home, the other 2 are bonafide coffee snobs, and they all gave Uncle Nancy's the thumbs up. Personally, I had caramel apple cider. (I'm a different sort of afficionado), and it was also fantastic. The staff is friendly and charming and vaguely rowdy in that wonderful way that you only seem to get in the midwest. We all agreed - this was hands down, the best detour of tour. And should we ever roll that way again, we'll definitely be scheduling a stop at Uncle Nancy's. read more

Quait little stop while traveling. The location gave me flashbacks of scenes in "Back to the Future." Nice and friendly staff. More flavors to choose from than your typical corporate coffee house. They serve Costco repackaged sweets. I dig it. read more

Uncle Nancy's is the crown jewel of the not-so-bustling Newton square. A popular hangout for groups of all ages: you're sure to find a caffeinated beverage that suits your needs. I would also recommend one of their paninis for lunch (specifically the apple bacon). Tons of variety and nice atmosphere. If you're forced to spend some time in Newton, you might as well stop by Uncle Nancy's! read more

Good coffee and reasonably priced. Favorite coffee place in town. Friendly service. Hour are good and store in nice and clean.

I've found better coffee at the Hyvee gas station here in newton the service was rude the servings were small and the price was outrageous. I'd skip uncle Nancy's but then I'm fairly particular about coffee . The hyvee gas station serves Caribou coffee which for the price and convenience is outstanding. read more

This is a fun, quaint coffee shop on Newton's square. I am happy to see that it has remained in business for some time now. Interestingly enough, I am not a coffee drinker, but I do like coming here for various reasons. In the morning, for a piece of fresh fruit and one of their muffins. They also have great scones and for your sweet tooth, a frosted cinnamon roll. Monday-Friday they serve lunch from 11a-2p, sadly not on Saturdays. So, if I happen to be in town during the week, I like to have lunch here. They have a nice menu selection with a variety of sandwiches and salads and not just any old standard fare, they have fun with the ingredients. I love to walk in and find an eclectic mix of our community enjoying one of Newton's great businesses. read more

Cute little coffee shop, the decor is kinda antique, but still very cute. The food is good, the drinks are amazing, and the service is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy, and its quiet. I would recommend coming here if you want a nice drink and want to relax. You can choose iced or hot drinks, so you could come here year round. I travel alot and don't like the coffee offerred by the hotels or gas station coffee.....soooo today I left my hotel in Des Moines and decided it would be easier to pull over in Newton for a cup. The person tending the store was rather abrupt and unpleasant, but the physical characteristics of the business suggested the product would more than compensate - WRONG!! There were 3 different airpots of brew and 3 of us. We had at least 2 different kinds and all agreed it was the most egregious cup we had ever expierenced at a coffee house. We are talking coffee flavored water. read more

Is appalled by the service they would not give me a jet tea 5 minutes till close. They were very rude and unwilling to help.
