There is adequate parking along sunrise Highway pretty much anywhere you go. You are supposed to have an adventure pass to park here and they have a kiosk to pay for it but it never works. Fortunately if you have the America, the beautiful pass, you can put that on your dashboard and that will cover it. Today, my man and I went out and did a hike on the PCT portion to Foster point. Absolutely stunning, one of my favorite overlooks in the area. On this portion of the trail, there is very little tree cover and you've got to be careful not to get dehydrated. It was only 74° and it got toasty in the sun. We were out there for three hours, and I had 3 L of water. I drank pretty much all of it and a Gatorade bottle that I brought. If you come out here for biking, be sure to hit Los Gatos Trail. It's so flowy and fun and has a bunch of little features you can play on. Noble Canyon is a legendary trail but if you are going to ride it, make sure you've got strong bike skills because it is quite technical.

First come first serve, bring your own net. Although, there always seems to be a full house. The only time I've seen it empty was on an overcast afternoon. Indoors: there are also three courts lined over the ball court. The center supples the three nets and balls. Lots of rec centers make you bring your own balls. Staff are prompt at starting/ending open play. For schedules, google Carmel Mtn Rec open gym. Times vary. I enjoy playing indoors more than outdoors bc 1) no wind 2) if I fall, it doesn't hurt as much 3) no sun 4) feels easier on the feet/legs/body. The indoor lines are not the easiest to read. You definitely have to play a few times before you get used to it. The outdoor courts are also not great bc there's a slant in the pavement. Feels like there isn't that much room to move around in certain sides of the court.

There is a small area of covered patio tables, and there are a lot of benches. Oh, and there are bees. In fact, there are signs warning about the bees. Not great for kids.

I really liked how the rec center provided 4 nets & all these pickleballs! This is the first time I've seen a rec center provide SO MANY balls. I really liked that the court outlines were clear and one singular color. It makes it way less confusing. I also liked that there's plenty of room for running/getting between baselines and the benches. Also loved that they used benches instead of bleachers. NO MORE PAINFUL clawing under bleachers/peoples' feets for smashed balls that rolled underneath. The wait gets pretty long here (prob 25-30min/game and you only get to play up to 8 when there is a crowd. Winners stay and can play up to 2 games (they split off in the second game). I like this system, as it balances out the skill set. Everyone faithfully honored this system, and would get out after their 2 games.

It did not seem heated even though they advertised as a heated pool.

I am not sure if the spartan locked from the inside either. I feel like the locks are something that they should definitely invest in fixing. The spartan also has a very small water heater. I think that they told us 2 gallons when we called. I couldn't even get through a shower without it running out. We called because we thought maybe it could be fixed but they let us know the water heater is small but they have public showers available. Since it was hot I toughed it out. My brother stayed in the mansion and it had a bad smell in it. It bothered his girlfriend a lot. They did have AC and their hot water was fine. Their trailer also did not lock from the outside. The trailers are cute, and we liked the vintage decor but they need some work done. I feel like their trailers have a lot of potential if they would just invest in them a bit. My husband and I stayed at another location that had vintage trailers. They were definitely nicer. AC, hot water, new linoleum, locks and keys, and did not have a bad smell. I hope that pinecrest can improve their vintage trailers. I think that if they improved them they would have a lot more return business.

There is ample parking in a lot and go up a small hill towards the rec center. When we came into the center, the basketball courts were decided into 2 halves. The group of about 10-12 kids played for about 45 mins. The basketball coaches were very nice and welcoming. We enjoyed the coaches and how encouraging they were to the kids. Outside the rec center is a playground, fields, and picnic areas. There were games happening, Zumba, and kids playing on the playground. This place wasn't crowded when we went but I am sure this place gets crowded when it's warm. Nice place to have a party as well. There are bathrooms available and the library is right across the street. Nice place to check out if your kids are in need of a play to play, join sports, or have a party.
