He reinforced it by using a thicker than normal thread and passing over the stitches many times so now it looks very thick in the area and not delicate like that rest of the shoe. My second pair, he had to move the buckle back by 1" (strap was too long). He used white thread on a taupe colored shoe! He claimed he didn't have any other thread colors and that the other straps goes over it and we can't see it anyways. Also, that over time, it will get dirty and we will see it less. Sloppy and quick workmanship. But is fine is you're okay with work that is just okay.

Delevanti has a really nice selection of cocktail dresses and probably one of the best knitwear styles in the city. It is an old school dress shop where the sales people really dress you. This is not the kind of shop you can just walk into and choose something off the rack. I have bought several coats over the years and they are truly timeless. When I am in europe i feel I fit the part. The owner has helped me with making a selection for a cruise and I kept getting complements on my outfits night after night. This store is truly a hidden gem. Many women who can afford to shop anywhere come here, for the selection , exclusivity of the garments and the service. Yesterday, Saturday December 5th 2009 at approximately 11 a.m I went to the Cavendish mall to have a coffee. I passed by the DELEVANTI store (not the one for children but the one for adults) and I saw a nice dress. I entered the store to see the dress, ask for the price and see other dresses (As I have two Christmas parties coming soon and I am searching for a special outfit). There were two 'ladies' for customer service, the older one was the rudest person working for customer service I have ever seen. She asked me if I was going to try the dress and I said that today I just wanted to see the dresses. She literally told me that if I wasn't going to try the dress today it was better if I leave and come another day. I say to her that I wanted to see what type of dresses they have and the prices too. She said again, come back some other day when you are 'ready'. Ready for what?? If I wanted I could have purchased one dress that day...but obviously she wasn't encouraging that AT ALL!!! I insisted that I wanted to see the dresses and because this is a free country I walked towards the rack where they have the dresses. She literally said to the other lady..."I think she doesn't understand". I reply to her: I understand what you are saying but I want to SEE, to SEE the dresses! so I went and do that...she then said to me: Now I need to be standing next to you while you see the dresses and you are wasting my time!!!!! That's what she said...Me, a potential customer, I was wasting her time!!!! There was no other customer on the store ...zero! I just looked at her and said do you really need to be standing next to me "wasting your time" Amazing!!!!!! I left the store and I will never come back again. On top of that I am planning on tell all the people I know at work, at McGill university where I study and literally to all the people I can how bad is the customer service in that store.

This store had cool items, such as a Beaver water tube. It was quirky and fun. I liked the shorts that were there. Sadly, they weren't on sale. It's probably one reason why this Roots store wasn't as fabulous as the last one that I was at. The sale prices weren't amazing on the items that I loved. The shoe section was a bit disappointing. I was looking for some affordable formal clothes for work and found so many items under 20$ I couldn't believe it! The best part is that many of their pants have long inseems. I am 5'8 and always have trouble finding pants that are narrow or long enough elsewhere. I saw many generous sizing up to 16 too. In terms of value for money, this place fills the bill. If you need to upgrade your wardrobe with trendy to classic styles, l'Aubainerie will help you without breaking the bank. I find the quality very comparable to larger retailers like H&M, Reitmans, Smart Set etc.
